  1. This is why we can't let Sylvia go. Alot of ppl have a misconception about him that he doesn't have a 100% dedication but the talented youngster certainly does. You only have to look at his comments to Darkhorse to see that he wants to succeed.
  2. He is capable of kicking 50 goals a season for the rest of his career, simple as that.
  3. The possessions will come. Where he'll be most damaging however is an abillity to go forward and take a grab
  4. Hannibal you've sold me. I'm in the Watts court. Hopefully he'll slide to us at #3.
  5. As I said I have not seen him play but from what I have seen a measly 15 second clip on youtube he didn't strike me as having the physique to build a kpp player out of. Why do you find him so exciting? If you could compare him to one AFL player whow ould it be?
  6. I remember watching Gumbleton and Hawkins play 2 years ago, ableit they haven't done much but you could see just by their physique that they at least have the body to be a power forward. Observing Watts, I'm not so sure.
  7. Geelong recruiter said he would take Watts with pick 1. I haven't seen him play but from a 20 second clip on youtube he looked pretty wirey and not that particularly tall. I don't want to spend a top 3 pick on a Jack Riewaldt type!
  8. I would be hesitant but everyone is expendable at the right price. Don't think you could get a late first rounder or early 2nd rounder for him
  9. Im chucking in 150$ about a week's work of pay for me.
  10. Great to see Dutchy back! Lets hope he puts in a good performance so we can get him back up in the seniors in no time. Could well finish the season with 15 goals to his name. Petterd needs to perform this week whilst he has been injured he should really be playing seniors. Frawley will abosolutely smash Little or Tiller.
  11. Whilst reading a mediocre article the other day displaying that Paul Johnson was our most improved player I couldn't help but think whether or not Emma Quail (I think that was the author's name) had actually watched the Demons play? Make no mistakes Paul Wheatley at the age of 27 has been in the systems for yonks but in a way is finally having his break out season. Having been decimated by injury he has been able to get his body right and play some great damaging football. His massive kick is vitally important to the structure of our team whether it be him kicking or playing a link role through the middle of the ground. Averaging 23 disposals this year I expect him to finish 2nd behind Green in the B&F. Having titled him a NAB Cup super goal specialist, Paul Wheatley has turned into one of our better players. Congratulations you have Neita3000 over
  12. I approached this topic keeping in mind that if Melbourne is to win a premiship these are the players to take us there. Firstly yes it is a big call on Grimes but this kid will be special. If Morton was taken before pick 4 Craig Cameron would have taken him at 4, that's how highly he is rated at the club. His disposal is servicable but the thing I love about him most is his determination and his abillity to step up in crunch situations. In the coming years there will be multiple situations where Grimes in the dying minutes of the game will lay a game breaking tackle or kick a goal that does not necessarily come from talent but more so a passion for the jumper and an abillity to bust you gut for it. Davey I whole heartidly agree with you. But if were going to challenge over the next 5 years he needs to step up. He has the abillity to do so and perhaps his recent admission of ill preperation for last weeks game is a sign that he knows he can achieve more we can only hope. The same goes for Miller. I just watched his game V Freo. There is a situation where he is harrassing the ball cause a spillage picks up the loose ball barrages through Bryon Schammer and delivers to Austin. There's only one other player in the comp who can do that and his name is Jonathon Brown. Austin perhaps 500 goals is pushing it. But he'll kick 30+ this year and if he plays for another 10 years with improvement to come out of him he'll regularly be topping the 40 mark.
  13. Excellent to hear Morton to be named in the center. I would have Morton and Bell in. I'd love to chuck in Newton instead of Bell but with the majority of the Bulldogs forward line being small in stature he'll have to come in. Carroll and White serve no purpose at our club.
  14. #1: Jack Grimes: Ppl on this board don't realise how good this kid is going to be. I actually rate him higher than Cale Morton. Will be captain by the time he is 21 and an absolute star. #2: Colin Garland: A genuine KPP backman much in the mould of a young Matty Scarlett. I've never seen a player with such quick closing speed. Years of watching lumbering giants in Holland, Ellis, Nicholsan and Carroll are now officially over!!! #3: Brad Miller: A somewhat controversial selection from Neita3000 but a worthy one. Miller has all the tools to become a more than servicable KPP Forward. He is strong, quick and aggressive, all he lacks is some footy nous and a bit of skill. Over the past couple of weeks however he seems to be eradicating his weaknesses and playing with some real passion. His games against Fremantle and Brisbane, I don't think I've seen too many better than those displays. If Melbourne is the resurge it will require this young man (only 24) to fulfill his full potential. #4:Colin Sylvia: Probably the most talented player on our list. But what type of player will he be? He looks more comfortable around the forward line as opposed to the middle. If he plays deep in the forward line for the rest of his career he will kick 40-50 goals each season. He has the hands and is a good set shot. If he improves his fitness and work rate he could become a Ryan O'Keefe type player only way more damaging. #5: Aaron Davey: He's 25 now and been in the system long enough now where he should be in the top 40 players in the AFL. He has the talent. Too often he plays a game where he gathers 10-15 possesions from the midfield. Whilst his touches are all class if he's not getting 18-25 leave him crumbing in the forward line. #6: Brock McLean: Has not reached the expectations from 06 that we expected from him. Back then he was a dynamic midfielder capable of breaking a game over with some excellent agressieve play. Despite injury his form still yet has plataued. He doesn't seem as dynamic and appears more to be an accumulator of posession. However do not get me wrong he is still our best midfielder and an extremely exciting talent. He should probably be higher up the list but he's already achieved enough to suggest that he is an integral part of our future, probably being a Vice Captain down the track. #7: Lynden Dunn: Do not underestimate the value of a quality tagger. Every premiship side has one an Lynden is our man. For the last couple of weeks he has shown the abillity that he can shut down the best in the game. Over the the next 2 years expect his posession tally to rise as he becomes more damaging when he learns how to find the ball. By the time he is 23 we will have our very own Cameron Ling #8: Cale Morton: Cale could have gone #1 in last years draft that's how highly he is rated. His first couple of weeks he looked poised and showed nothing but class. However his last couple of games he seemed low on confidence. Anyone who gets 22 posessions and kicks 2 goals against the reigning premiers ableit in the 3rd game must be a [censored] champion. Cale will take time and it would not surprise me if it takes until about his 4th year to be fully hitting his strides. #9: Austin Wonemarri: This kid will end up with over 500 goals to his name enough said. How the hell did he slip to the rookie draft. #10: Matthew Bate: Has the abillity to play as a roaming forward or in the middle. I like him forward of center where he can use his booming kick and sticky hands to set up forward line attacks. Apologies to Nathan Jones and Jared Rivers. Jones whilst I love him is not damaging enough with his disposal and Rivers well is injury prone, I'm not bagging them but hopefully they can recitfy there problems.
  15. Neita3000's predicitions. Write these down!!!! B & F: Brad Green Most Improved: Brad Miller (has the confidence now and will run riot in the last 8 weeks) Best First Year Player: Austin Wonneamiri (how did this kid slip to us in the rookie draft, would go top 10 if it was re done) 09 Captain: Brad Green (will have the honour for 2 years then Jack Grimes will be captain in 2011) #1 pick: Depends on Warnock could be any of Rich, Watts or Natanui, (hoping for Warnock and Watts combo) Retire: Neitz , Yze, Holland, Delist: White, Carroll, Weetra Trade: Anyone over the age of 25 especially Cameron Bruce.
  16. What did the next Matty Scarlett say?
  17. Colin will be a star. Is probably the most raw player on our list and still yet is playing great footy. Only more improvement can come. Cameron picked up a beauty
  18. Cale will be brought back this week no doubt about it. We need some skill round the packs with Davey gone and Cale plays that role to a tee. Im predicting a 25 possie game this week from the rake man with an efficiency rate of 92%. Bring in McDonald for McLean.
  19. No. Don't know how he didn't get nominated after his 2 gopal 22 possession effort V Geelong. Mind you its a joke Colin Garland didn't get it last week as well.
  20. Talk of Natanui being a marketing machine is quadswopple. Any player taken with the amount of talent Watts has will be the marketing machine we need. The only query I have with Watts is whether he will continue to play for his school or have a crack at AFL aka Xav Ellis and Luke Ball.
  21. Don't know why your question the role of Dunn. IMO he is easily in our best 22.
  22. Stynesy has been fantastic. WHat is it? 1500 members since he's taken over. Farkin brilliant
  23. Imagine if had kicked that snapshot? What the hell would have happened? Was just watching the news report and they showed Austin's dad hugging members of the crowd. You can see where Aussie gets his celebrations from.
  24. No love for Paul Wheatley chook? 6: Brad Green 5: Chris Johnson 4: Brad Miller 3: Lynden Dunn (did simon black touch it) 2: Colin Sylvia 1: Paul Wheatley
