  1. We've just got to have such a good year next year that we are irresistible. Keep him and attract others. If I had to pick I'd rather keep him than Oliver. I reckon he's a cause of cultural issues. Over inflated ego. Would we take Kelly for Oliver? I think so. Not saying that's even in contemplation.
  2. Let's just hope they are holding off to see what the TPP ends up being post Covid and where the club ends up with it's salary cap after trade week. See if they create some space before they finalise a deal with him. I always thought Hogan was going to go. I'm more confident about Jackson. Based on......? The vibe.
  3. I so hope you're right. Surely we couldn't have this happen again could we.
  4. A mate with no contacts so just his idea that Jackson hasn't signed to extend his contract while Kossie & Rivers have so he thinks he's probably out the door end of next season in which case we'll get a first rounder or two for him. Plus rumours about Oliver wanting out won't go away so maybe 2 first rounders for him as well next year.
  5. Only other players I've heard through this week connected to us are Polec or T Phillips. This deal doesn't sound like one that would be relevant to either of them.
  6. So far these players Out and only Brown in. 3 on main list rest on Rookie. Surely O Mac goes as well. So potentially 4 off 1 in. Harley Bennell (ret) Kyle Dunkley (del) Mitch Hannan (trd) Braydon Preuss (trd) Corey Wagner (del) Josh Wagner (del)
  7. I've actually never met anyone who supports Norf. But jeez, I'd be shattered if MFC had done this to our list. I still can't understand what has gone down for Norf to flick him out of the Club for so little. It's not like they have cap space problems and they desperately need picks. Very strange one.
  8. Hope you're right and it makes sense as they only need picks for value to match Ugle-Hagan bids. Pick 14 = 1161. Picks 28 + 33 = 1240. Maybe they've agreed to whatever the deal is going to be in consultation with Doggies on what they will accept. This would leave us with 14, 43, 50, 68, 69, 89. Sounds like there will also be some late pick swaps. So a reasonable hand at the draft. Obviously must have someone in mind to get up to pick 14.
  9. Great posts Dr. Interesting thing is nearly all supporters you speak to are basically seeing and saying the same things. All I want to see in the first practice game next season is low passes from the midfield to nice clear leads in the forward line. Plus everything you said about the midfield. Not too much to ask is it?
  10. Would love to know what their theory is on not even making the finals this year. For me it wasn't even about not making finals. It was about the standard of play nearly all season. We've all been waiting for i50's to be fixed since Goody took over the game plan in 2016. Goody says the game plan is based around the contest but we're ranked 15th for clearances and we have Gawn, Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw, Petracca in the midfield. Where is the improvement going to come from. How is it going to come. Improved coaching, improved players?
  11. I'm quite intrigued by this. If it's true their opinion seems to be that this list is ready to be a top 4 team. Or if they don't think this then they don't have the salary cap or currency to bring any skilled players in. Then again maybe there aren't any suitably skilled players in this trade period. Treloar's disposal isn't going to solve that problem and apparently neither is Tom Phillips. I guess the players we need are not out there. Saad certainly would have been one but we seem to have never been a possibility to be in that conversation.
  12. Feel for you mate. Crazy times. Do you do any training on an indoor trainer. I do a session on Tacx with some mates every Sunday night. Ones in London 2 in Melbourne, me in Sydney. Connect on Zoom and ride the same course together on Tacx. You’re welcome to join.
  13. Bing on a footy unrelated topic. Are you still in Francais? If so how are you holding up. How is it over there? Things are looking pretty tough virus wise. How's the riding going?
  14. Please change your avatar. I'm finding it just a bit too irresistible.
  15. I'm going to have an uneducated guess here. Maybe if you call Mahoney the GM of facilities and List Management he doesn't fall under the soft cap. He could end up doing basically the same job as before but outside the cap. Richo could also end up doing basically the same job but probably in the cap. It doesn't say if he will have a match day coaching role.
  16. You're doing admirably well at remaining a cup half full person. I'm jaded after the past 13 years. We've been talking about all the reasons why we are going to be better for years. I really hope you're right.
  17. Not really interested in that Prelim any more. Unfortunately not relevant to the last two years. So you're happy with this season because we barely won a few more games than we lost? As for Saints and Carlton. I'm talking about the future not the past. Lets talk at the end of next season. We started our rebuilds way before them and Saints have sailed past us. On the basis of this year there's every chance Blues will pass us next year if we are treading water. Lions and Port have also already sailed past us. This comp waits for no one.
  18. Agreed. However, there have been a series of very poor list management decisions made over the past few years which appear to have eaten up a lot of salary cap space which has left us out of the conversation in pursuing a series of A and B list players. Look at what StKilda have achieved the last few years and Carlton the last couple of years.
  19. Truly hope this doesn't mean they are going to move Jason Taylor. Isn't Mahoney responsible for List Management now. Look where that's got us.
  20. That would be the mad Choco Williams who decided out of spite that he would hold a press conference and announce that his assistant coach Dean Bailey would be Melbourne's next coach. The mad Choco Williams who in his greatest moment as the siren rang making him a Premiership Coach could only think of having a go at the Club's main sponsor. The mad Choco Williams who has burnt off a series of minor clubs which were the only places he could get a gig. I don't think so. The days of getting a mad firebrand into the place are long gone.
  21. On the face of it I agree with you here, however, if GWS pay all of T Mac's salary which is rumoured to be around $750k it would probably be worth it.
  22. Someone suggested the value of the picks in return for T Mac might be reduced the more the other team is prepared to pay of his contract with us.
  23. I suspect his worth will be even greater in the decisions about the Bentleigh Club.
  24. I tried to renew directly with the Club a few years ago and they said I needed to do it through the MCC as I'm a dual member. I would say that's because they want to keep track of dual members.
