I think there are two records being confused here. The record that Bowey holds is the most number of career games without a single loss. The other record is most games before first loss, as shown in the table above. Bowey is four wins behind that particular record at the moment.

I think I may hold the record here. It was round 9 in 1998 and we lost to Essendon at the MCG after a stirring win the previous week at the same venue against Collingwood.
