  1. I can't imagine DB tolerating that, but you never know - he might have a thing for the show?
  2. They need to take care of their complexion, Robbo's a TV star now
  3. No Jeff White or Robbo either? That's to be expected though
  4. Very... in too good a form perhaps? Already hit top gear and needs to be put on ice.... don't want to give too much away
  5. 6. *The highest skill level in the competition* *Running over the top of teams with superior endurance* *Other teams consistently complaining of being sore the week after playing us* *If all else fails, known for beating teams that need to win to make the finals - Carlton and Chris Judd's demise would be a cherry on top* B)
  7. Great post Haydo! I couldn't have said it better myself....every fine detail You obviously know what you are talking about, and man that's a breath of freah air around here
  8. Well maybe it's time for you to start validating it, cos you need to Send me a personal message and I'll explain it to you
  9. Let's just say I know, and I'll leave it with you to figure out why/ how that is the case. The connection made with BB is not literal, no need to get YKIAK Yes they did pump up our state of conditioning last pre-season.
  10. Rhino, I probably didn't make myself clear enough with all my innuendos - I don't buy that there are injuries to begin with. Let me state it clear - The Demons are foxing right now, because they are going a hell of a lot better than they are letting on. There's no bad prognosis from me, it's all good Why fox so early in the season? Because they are not hiding injuries so much, as hiding the fact we don't really have many, and are most likely flying. The mistake that we made last pre-season if you remember was to tell the entire AFL community that we were flying, and basically put a sign on our heads saying come get us. It has been said twice now by the club that we plan to fly under the radar this year, and that is precisely what we are doing - Relax, wait and see As for BB, there wasn't a part of me suggesting that we should sack him at all, just implying that if the physical state of the list was as grim as Mo's post indicated(which it isn't) Then we should sack him. So do you get what I am saying here? I'm effectively saying that BB and Co are doing a better job than what meets the eye.
  11. I agree that they are similar players in the way they move etc. C.J has a bit of pace, he should learn from what Bucks is doing and make good use of it. At least give him a chance to prove himself this year
  12. Good, then our strategy is working!
  13. Perhaps the reverse of your thinking..... That other clubs won't know how "good-a-nick" that our players are actually in. In that our guys might be going a lot better than what they are letting on... shhhh! Don’t tell anyone. That could be the case right now, because they have everyone (including you) believing that we are screwed injury wise for the start of the season, even more so after Saturday’s result. Do you think that could be a reason for doing it? Macca said it beautifully last Thursday – That he thinks we will sneak under the guard of a few clubs this year It would mighty hard to sneak up on clubs if they think/perceive that we are flying at the moment? COME ROUND ONE – WE GO BANG!
  14. Totally agree Mo, I wanted to see some sort of "shift" in proceedings on Saturday as well The Demons have developed a bit of a reputation over the past few years of being very cagey operators. I hope that is what it is in this case
  15. I thought I'd pose a question to everybody... Is it possible that some of the players are receiving conditioning work/ training away from the public eye? So that other clubs cannot get insight into the state of their injuries/ condition? Reason I ask is, I simply cannot believe that what we see at training and what we hear from the club is always the way that it is.
  16. Is that Colin Sylvia in your Avatar? :D
  17. Fair enough, but surely they will get rid of the cotton wool over the next few weeks, and do whatever they have to do to prepare these guys? What's the point in cotton wool if they don't play till round 6? It would Super "F" ing grim if they can't get up for round one, along with Bruce, Mclean, Bartram, Whelan, Rivers, Pettard, Maloney, Grimes and Davey, who you have stated are questionable for round one. I can see value in painting a "real' picture of the physical state of the list, but if what you are saying eventuates, then you might as well sack BB right now. P.S. I think the Demons are playing funny buggers, and most of these guys will be up and about by round one
  18. Please explain these assessments?
  19. He's not saying we made the wrong decision, he's just painting a picture of how it unfolded. Don't take it out of context guys...I was just saying it would have been nice to get Lachlan Henderson aswell, cause he looks the goods...nothing against Cale"stretcher"Morton
  20. I understand your view, and generally I think it's a good policy to follow because it prevents 4-6 type disappointments. I would like to add this however: No-one has said Zomer is going to be a superstar just yet; they have simply payed comment to their liking of the way he moved and presented himself on the lead (foxtel commentators included) To go first pick in the rookie draft (#3), you would have to think he has shown some good qualities to recruiting people, and those with an eye to see it. And that is really all that myself, and others have seen in Zomer (his potential) I'll say this as succinctly as I can: Zomer and Martin, with their Basketball background, height and athleticism - will be invaluable for us. They were to me, apart from Valenti, Garland and Buckley, the shining light from the Geelong game. Maybe that's because I had a long Basketball career myself, and could always see how useful those skills were when playing football (if you were talented like me ) I also believe that CAC and Co, had done their homework well on these blokes, and had a fairly good idea that they could get them both in the pre-season and rookie drafts, and thus they recruited for midfielder types at the National draft. I don't think it was a pure fluke that they landed with us, because they had their eyes on them from a fair way out (the proof being their similar backgrounds) Good bang for you buck - anyone for Pendelbury, Brogan? Mark my words, Zomer will be promoted to the list before the year is out (barring injury)
  21. Valenti got plenty of the ball but got wrapped up a fair few times today, do you guys reckon it was just a matter of adjusting to the pace of the game? Getting used to his team mates? When we get other gun onballers into the side like Mclean and Moloney, surely that will free up guys like Valenti and Jones from the bullocking type work, and we might see the best of them Viney used to do that well.... Sylvia would surely do that job well?
  22. Yeah let's talk up Garland....some people on Demonland have been sceptical of his ability in the past, but today he really showed something. I can see why Mahoney and co have been talking him up recently - He moved really well for a big guy, showed some serious goal kicking nous and just looked like he belonged out there. Named at centre half forward and kicked 3 goals. There is just so much to like from today's game
  23. BRIGHT SIDE++++...I actually think we may have won something today :D - *the current front-runners for making the biggest mockery of the NAB Cup competition* And somehow getting away with it, without looking like a Sandringham reserves side - Colliwobbles a current close second I can’t be stuffed figuring out how many senior players are missing from other teams, but I reckon we must have the most so far...Anyone?
  24. Diablo, have you seen Zomer play at all besides today's game?
  25. Lachlan Henderson doesn't look half bad either...damn shame we didn't get him in the draft - 8th pick
