  1. Love watching the 100 games Highlight Reel for Garlett's 100th game on the Blues website. Fingers crossed he can get back to that form. If he does he will be a darn good player. Quick, Good overhead, Chase and tackles and can snag a goal.
  2. The proposed Trengove trade makes no sense in isolation which makes the 'why' grist for the mill. We have high picks. There are other clubs that may have a motivation to trade players. Adelaide with its fear of a lesser return if Dangerfield exercisess his FA rights at end of 2015 than if they can get a deal done now. Sydney with its COLA disappearing may be attracted by high picks and a Victorian may seek to return home.
  3. Buckley is reported to be in Bali to talk to a holidaying Travis Varcoe.
  4. I have this dream that one day we will recruit elite talent and develop it ourselves. In Roos & Co we have to trust.
  5. It'll be sad if Trenners goes. Dees fans will always have time for him. He has been rock solid through some terrible years at the Dees.Still think that if his foot gets right he will be a 10 year AFL player. The trade makes no sense in isolation. What does Pick 12 unlock for the Dees?
  6. If the traffic on Demonland crashes the internet will ASIO charge us with the newfangled disrupting electrical communications?
  7. I am a 44 year old Melbourne fan so I've had to learn patience!
  8. Have Adelaide made any comment since Phil Walsh was appointed coach? Again comes back to the risks for Adelaide in allowing Dangerfield going into his FA season unsigned. And of course Dangerfield agreeing to join the Dees if Adelaide asks him to sign long term or agree to a trade. Do they gamble on Dangerfield staying long term and thus forsake receiving more for him now than they would if he leaves as a FA.
  9. Sloane will be a 7 year player at end of 2015 ie 1 year short of free agency. I wonder what the Crows would do if Sloane requested a 1 year extension only. Or are they having a conversation now about his willingness to sign long term in context of what Dees could offer in a trade. Given their lack of access to early draft picks getting players in a year early would expedite progress of their rebuild. Much the same as Dangerfield the standard business risk management would be to trade now if a long term commitment is not forthcoming given the lower returns they would get under FA compensation. Interesting times!
  10. Thompson had an injury riddled run at the Dees, even had a foot injury if I recall correctly...
  11. Enter the DangerZone?
  12. Bit harsh to assume Trengove just plays for the money. For mine the issue is that he has shown great loyalty to the club through some terrible years. If we don't return that loyalty and allow him to honour his contract then how can the club ever ask players to show loyalty to it. Reality is that by just not saying no to the Tigers but instead putting the offer to him we've effectively said we want you to accept the trade.Of course thats if you accept that the trade is a Tigers suggestion...
  13. Phil Walsh's appointment may have changed the thinking at the Crows. They risk losing Dangerfield for only a compensation pick after their first rounder if he leaves as a Free Agent at end of 2015. In the context of that fact and that they would get more value of they traded him to a club able to provide that greater return and which Dangerfield wants to join. Makes business sense but footy is a strange business,
  14. For mine it sounds like an MFC led deal that has to be pitched as a RFC led deal to manage any backlash from Dees fans who feel that Trengove has shown great loyalty to the club in a period of great instability. The Friday articles soften us up so that by next week we pragmatically accept the deal which essentially involves us giving away Trenners for advancing in the draft order from Pick 23 to Pick 12. For MFC to do the deal Pick 12 must be needed in the context of a trade which could bring an elite player to Melbourne. Or thats what I am hoping. If he does accept the move Jack Trengove will always be welcome wherever and whenever Dees fans gather.
  15. Trengove has never appeared to me to be the kinda player or person that lines up for freebies...
  16. If you believe loyalty is a two way concept then yes. If you don't believe in it all or believe it only involves loyalty from player to club then no.
  17. extended the week after the horrors of 186....
  18. Trengove signed a new contract in the week following the horrors of 186. That is the sort of loyalty you don't forget. There would need to be a very big fish involved to trade Trenners and Pick 23 for Pick 12 which is Richmond getting him for an 11 pick downgrade.
  19. Key Forwards: Hogan, Dawes Ruck/Forward: Gawn, Fitzpatrick Medium Forwards: Kent, Salem, Howe, Watts Small Forwards: Kennedy-Harris, Gartlett Don't think its miles off a Top 8 Forwardline with another pre season for the younger players. Importantly all the Mediums and Smalls can take a mark and most of the players are goalkickers, important to spread the load a la Hawks.
  20. McKenzie should be but Bail's ability to run long and hard at a good pace is a talent Roos' values as exemplified by his contract extension.
  21. Obviously was unsettled off field in 2014. He obviously has elite level talent. Hopefully he has his life outside of football sorted and puts in a hard pre season and fulfills his talent in 2015 and beyond. That would be a massive win for the Mighty Dees.
  22. James Who? See Gerard Who?
  23. ..or players are human just like you and me, with human feelings and emotions. I'd guess Dunny has more of an insight into Clark's circumstances than you or I...
  24. Trade Radio has to be a Hutchy production. To be fair you have to give some credit to the presenters for waffling incessantly about not much of substance!
