WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
So back on Steven May, it would seem that Collingwood, having apparently missed out to Richmond over Tom Lynch (GCS), is making a big play for May. This would of course, be devastating for the Suns and it will be interesting to see how this is played out.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Mitch isn’t even in the Casey side for this Saturday although it’s not clear as to whether or not he’s injured. Preuss would be handy but what role would he play if Max remains injury free?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I am not a great fan of threads such as these but really, Fremantle has nothing much to offer us and very little to offer to Jesse Hogan except home town environment and football oblivion at a club that's going nowhere. I like the Goodwin comment that he's going nowhere.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
Calling this thread pornography isn’t attacking it. I would have thought it was more of a compliment to some of the regulars here. Besides which, you’re straying off topic. Didn’t Melbourne play the GWS Giants yesterday? How many kicks, handballs, marks and tackles did the unmentionable amass during the game?

I think Gaff’s defence made a mistake arguing provocation as part of its case. Much better had he thrown himself on the mercy of the Tribunal.

VALE JARROD LYLE
SEN is running a fundraiser for our great fellow Demon Jarrod Lyle. Please give - 1300081116 Hopefully, Jarrod was buoyed by the team yesterday and the boys can keep doing it for him and his family.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Enough already. This is the only team we haven’t beaten since the introduction of the 18 team AFL. Let’s do it Demons!!!!

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
I wonder if anyone caught sight of Melbourne’s NEXT GENERATION ACADEMY prospect Toby Bedford who was named as Victoria Country’s best player in its Under 18 National Championships game against Western Australia yesterday at Geelong? The Demons have first call on the lively midfielder/small forward from the Dandenong Stingrays. Bedford is just 176cm and 65kg but from all reports is lively, eye-catching and a strong tackler who offers plenty of forward pressure. Given that he’s with the Stingrays, we might see him sometime soon as a 23rd player for the Casey Demons.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
Correct. Unless one is a certified member of MENSA, everything on this thread is likely to be way over one’s comprehensive capabilities. I’m glad you understand the sub text of the conversation we’re having here. It’s vital for the national interest as well as the MFC that people understand this.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
My research shows that Austin Bradtke's last official game was in a losing side with East Sandringham against Mordialloc Braeside in a South Metro Junior Football League Under 14's grand final in August 2014. The King twins from Haileybury College. Bradtke wore the number 25. Other teammates in that side with interesting names were Samuel Stynes and Darcy Tilbrook. I can't figure out how a team with those names lost the game.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
A nice little boost for the club coming on the same day as it announced it has passed its previous membership record. Time will tell whether this speculative recruiting move pays dividends but the club’s development processes seem to be in a good way and Bradtke will have a fine teacher to learn from in Max Gawn who has coached young players in the past and is very good at it. The positive is that Bradtke did play representative football as a junior before he decided to concentrate only on basketball and he reached state level at that sport. And, at 17, he could still grow a few cm’s.

I'm completely over this romantic notion of players going to the club they supported when young. The game is so professional that the lure of your "beloved" club has to be secondary to the commercial factors. If anyone needs convincing then you only need to look at Dion Prestia, who from all accounts, comes from one of the most dedicated, rusted on Demon families you can find but, when the time came to leave the Suns, he chose Richmond. It works both ways of course. At the time, he was under a cloud with question marks about his knee and we don't know what Melbourne's particular needs and player payment situations were, but if it was all about close allegiances, I would have thought Prestia would have come to us in the end.

Anyone for cricket?
Two men and a dog at Durban to watch SA capitulate at the end of the first dig losing about 5 for 12. Fascinating to watch. I visited the Kingsmead ground in December and there were more people in our tour group than spectators yesterday and today. We should win this one.
