I'm definitely good with the idea of trading a 2019 first rounder for a late-ish 2018 (say mid teens) and possible swap of our pick 28 to enable us to potentially pick 3 players before bidding for Toby Bedford. Not sure if this can be arranged but it would definitely add interest for tomorrow night/Friday morning.

I think this is actually a good rule because it rewards clubs that put some initiative into recruiting for their second tier clubs. In the case of Corey Wagner there was the fact that his brother was already at the club but we clearly gave him the chance to play at state league level and he performed by having a consistent season and by winning the B & F at Casey. From what I saw of him, he was better than some of our depth players in the VFL and, had he been on our list, might have snuck in some games at senior level. I hope we offer him a contract and he becomes our first SPP on December 1.

I’ve always found the phantom drafts of bigfooty’s Snoop Dog to be interesting, entertaining and informative. As far as this draft is concerned, my feeling is in line with what most of the experts have been saying for a couple of years - this one is strong at the top and goes reasonably deep. With regard to SD’s assessment, he has noted, among other things - * “if a player is an NGA player and played at Champs they can automatically be listed as Cat B players if they miss out in National Draft” * “key themes for me this year are speed, running power, contested ball winning, clean hands and skill”.
