Bailey Humphrey
It's astounding that a club (GC) is trying to lure one of the biggest names in the comp, who is contracted, but have allowed their own assets to walk to other clubs, leaving them with only picks as trade capital. Flanders, Fiorini, Ainsworth all could have been the deal breaker we would consider. None of them as talented as Humphrey, but it's staggering that they haven't attempted to involve any of these three in a deal. Ainsworth remains, but is the least appeaing, given he is an undersized HF. GC knew the asking price and allowed their assets to vanish. Up to us to hold our nerve in the hope that they offer up Humphrey. If not, let them miss out. Do NOT accept a [censored] handful of meaningless picks for a superstar. Make them "pay up" OR let them have egg on their face.

Farewell Christian Petracca
of course Kane would say this. Rioli does not have the accolades of Petracca and has never been as highly rated across the comptetion. Pick 17 is a second rounder after academy and FS and compo picks. Don't accept it.

Farewell Christian Petracca
It'd be nice to have someone start talking about what Tracc is worth and what the GC are giving up. It seems like the media like to drive the price down and no one is prepared to value him in a trade deal. Fox just posted a trade targets rating and had him at 5. The 5th best target this off season. Laughable.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
How can we listen to the full interview?
-
Farewell Charlie Spargo
They will want Clayton Oliver and May as a trade and we are probably silly enough to consider it. I love when the circus is in town. This trade period will be the making or breaking of Tim Lamb, who in my opinion has a very poor record.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
So we would trade Clayton Oliver for Miochek so we retain pick 39 as compensation for Spargo...what is the benefit of that?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Miochek is a FA...why would we teade for him?

Farewell Christian Petracca
Quite right..Tholstrup pick 13 should would be about 5-10 in the upcoming draft. So, if that’s the quality we are going for in return for Tracc, like many think we will settle for, then we are cooked for the next decade.

Taylor is good at splitting picks and getting two good players. He isn’t always great at getting elite players (Langford firming to be the exception). It is also worth noting that sometimes he is so left field and it doesn’t work. Tholstrup would be the precedent. Nothing I’ve seen from him suggests he will be an A grade AFL player. So, like all drafts, this one is a just a gamble.

Farewell Christian Petracca
This is our time to stand firm. We have the biggest chip, arguably, in this years trade period. We have said the deal must turn our head. Let’s see if we stick to our guns or roll over like usual

Bring in Kids who win 3 games in two years and leave because we are terrible. That worked wonderfully under Neeld

Farewell Christian Petracca
Lamb and King will have egg all over their faces if we sell our top mids for a couple of mid first Rd picks. That goes against all they have said we are doing.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
after taking much of the evening to digest it all, it's pretty comforting to hear from King. The media can get stuffed. They've dined out on our poor culture for 3 years. The stories related to Oliver, May and to a lesser extent Tracc. Now we have exited (potentially) all three and people are saying "what are they doing". We will be compensated and i back us to make something of the picks. It's sad and hard to take, because they are the drought breaking era Demons, but it's ultimately what is best for business. I am guessing the close relationship Goodie had with these blokes led to a lot of our issues. We know it did. Tracc derailled us. Clayton the same and May...well....thank god he was a great defender. But, it's time to move on. That era has finished. Teams can rise quickly, like Hawthorn, and we still have some great high-end draft talent. Pickett will have way more midfield time. Langford is a beauty. Windsor could be a star. Disco as a key defender. Petty backline. TMac and Lever leading the backline. Viney being a professional and mentoring kids like Langford and Lindsay. The rise of Koltyn Tholstrup once he learns to take his opportunities on goal. Chandler to play more freely. Fritta and Checkers being hit up on the lead by Windsor, Rivers, Lindsay or Langford. The King era has begun. Edit: Hopefully we have Flanders as part of the Tracc deal too

Lamgford, Windsor, Lindsay, Disco, Tholstrup, Kalani White...and probaby some of the 3 first rounders we will end up with fro trading Tracc, Clarry, May, Spargo and McVee...we will package all our picks and move up in the draft, as we have every year. Trust that we nail the draft again

Apparently Rowbottom is gettable. I’ll take him. However, it’s unlikely we get anything but picks

So was that King’s vision when he interviewed for the job. Sure didn’t sound like it? How is the backflip?

We also have no players interested in coming to play at our club or willing to train at Casey. Complete dumpster fire

McCrae had Daicos into the midfield. We have …?

Stinks of that right now. Help Clarry down the highway and get stuff all in return.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
No, because Cleary re-posted and said “thanks for the chat this morning, see all on 7News tonight” - this indicates that the story is true and Oliver is off.

Oh..Laurie in the midfield…we will be right then. A bloke that has zero credits at AFL level. Too small. Not fast. Great. Lucky we have him

what are we actually doing? I’m becoming concerned. King sold the MFC a vision. That included that the list should be competing in September. In a week we apparently have May, Clarry, McVee, Tracc all out the door. We are linked with nobody. Flanders..who we look to be bridesmaid to…Miochek, who is coming in to top up his retirement fund. The draft is as shallow as it has ever been. Are we replacing these blokes with a couple of Koltyn Tholstrup types? If so, we are heading a long way back. Sure, there is other talent on the list. Barring the captain, none are of the calibre of those leaving. Happy to wait and see what unfolds next week, but right now it smells of a fire sale
