TEAMS: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
I thought Hunt was very solid. Nullified Weightman and mopped up well, especially in the first half. Did his job.

Geez, Matty Rowell is back. Get him in your fantasy teams!

Max King still can't kick. You don't pay 900K for guys that consistently kick more points than goals.

Wish we had Razor in our game.

Our next defender
With Salo and Riv out for a month is it time to unleash Bailey Laurie? We are well covered for talls.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
If we bring in Weed or Majak, we are too tall. One thing about Gold Coast is they look quick. Max, Jacko, TMac, May, Tomlinson, BBB, and Weed/Majak is one tall too many. I thought Jordon was solid without being spectacular. Deserves another go.

Rod Grinter on the Front Bar
Underrated player. Excellent high mark. Went hard at the ball always. Solid defender that was hard to get a kick on. Useful when used forward. Great club man.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
Gold Coast seem a very quick team. You may not need to go too tall in the backline although with Rivers, Salem and Hibberd under a cloud we may not have a choice, unless we want to give Laurie a try.

Bevo unleashes on Tom Morris
Tom has some good sources at the Bulldogs reporting on Ryan Gardiner last year and Hunter this year. I like Bevo, but he should channel his fury at the leaker rather than the reporter. Causing 'turmoil' and being a Dee supporter are not legitimate reasons to attack Morris.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
The big thing tonight was our team defence standing up despite outs. Only really dominated in the first quarter but we were inaccurate. Weird thing is you look at half the team and they were quiet-ish but we have become very difficult to play against. Within the forward line we moved the ball so well. Would have loved BBB to kick six rather than 3:3 and Fritta to kick four and not 2:2. 27 shots on goal to 16 is a significant difference.

VOTES: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
6. Petracca 5. Brown 4. Langdon 3. Oliver 2. May 1. Brayshaw. Oliver was good but seven frees against? Liked Smith early. Looked strong and confident. Spargo's ball use is spectacular.

“Sound the Alarm” The Goody Mic'd Up Documentary
Some really interesting insights. Of course the club only releases what they want to release but it surprised me how nurturing, encouraging and calm Goodwin was. There was an unshakeable belief that even when we were down we would 'get it going''. That takes some courage as it must be so tempting do something dramatic to get a spike in performance. .

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
None of us do Bobby, but there's talk his last contract was around 625K after his third finish in the Brownlow. Assumption is he would want similar for his upcoming contract. From a club perspective is it willing to part with that sort money for someone who finished 14th in the B&F last season and has been out of the midfield mix for three years. Also, worth mentioning that Oliver, Jackson, Fritsch and Pickett have big contract renewals coming up and we've put under the squeeze with big contracts to Petracca, Lever, Viney, May, Gawn, TMac, Salem, BBB, Melksham, etc.

Robbos Top 50 2022
These kind of lists are all subjective, of course. Robbo loves his footy but isn't really the most astute judge. It's just one blokes opinion and to be fair he did spend quite a bit of last year holed up in a hospital bed. I do agree with many posters that Salem is criminally underrated by many. In some ways he is our most important player. I hate the expression but he is the 'quarterback' of our team. If opposition teams can close him down then that goes a long way to beating us. He's kind of like our first line of defence but also the architect of our spread. I love Fritta but he is a little too high especially compared to Salem and Lever.

Every Heart Beats True Documentary
Pretty stock standard docu to be fair. Did we learn anything that regular Demon fanatics wouldn't be aware of? Probably not. Ben Brown's legs shook on the bus before the big game and Daniher told Todd Viney he had to get running fit! I don't know why the producers didn't interview some die hard fans. I reckon Demonland's pre and post grand final threads contain some pretty amazing insights into the psyche of a Melbourne supporter. That's where the real emotional connection for a video like this would be.

- NON-MFC: Community Series
Suns look pretty decent. They might struggle with key position players but their young midfield looks much improved.- POSTGAME: Community Series vs Carlton
The discipline was obviously a problem. Eight 50m penalties. I remember how Razor Ray said in pre-season in a Robbo podcast we were easily the most disciplined team when it came to umpire abuse. I wonder what happened today. Maybe we're not the issue! Things I didn't like: Petracca no goals three. Ball drop still too high. Jackson and Pickett's s form. So called depth players not really stepping up. Baker, Jordon, Hunt, Smith, Turner, etc. Tomlinson's pace. Likes. Good to have Lever back. Fritta kicking five despite a slow start.- GAMEDAY: Community Series vs Carlton
Needs to learn when to bounce! Decision making atrocious.- GAMEDAY: Community Series vs Carlton
Pittonet nine clearances. Gawn and Jackson need to be stronger in ruck clearances.
