The guy we were really after was apparently Gibcus who's making a reasonable start with the Tigers.

I think Tomlinson is so poor overhead that Petty, Smith and of course Lever are walk up starts in comparison. Last week against the Suns he had six or seven contested marks taken on him. This week he avoided a couple of aerial contests. He's tall but doesn't play tall.
-
Tell us more. What did you like about him?

Selwood has played two seasons too long. Makes you wonder about Geelong's depth when Dalhaus gets a game. Hate him or hate him DeGoey is X factor.
-
This. May had no hope stopping a fast leading Wright when Essendon midfield streamed forward unchallenged. Set leading patterns and a quick guy 200cm is pretty much impossible to stop.
-
Interesting that when Stringer went forward they tried to isolate him in the square with Brayshaw his opponent. He kicked two goals.

Going to be interesting to see how they treat two six-day breaks both with interstate travel. Might need a freshen up but it hasn't been Goodwin's style necessarily to rest guys. Might also need to see who the best match-ups for Marshall and Georgiades are. Lever would be a very handy inclusion if fit.

Forward pressure creates goals for others (midfielders + tall targets). It's all about the sacrifice. Kozzie kicked a couple of nice goals last week and Spargs a good goal on the run tonight. They're contributing.

I'm not exactly sure what you want our small forwards to do. Ten tackles between them. Put opposition defences under enormous pressure. Huge part of our game plan along with ANB. If you have to replace them then Bedford and Chandler are next cabs off the rank. I'm not convinced either of them can do what Kozzie or Charlie could.

The Burgess Effect.

Was worried with Wright taking a few grabs. May really does need Lever and Petty back to help him aerially. Tomlinson has other attributes but over his head is not his forte. The feature of tonight is we are overall a better team. Everyone chips in and does something. We can have quiet players but the effort is always there. ANB is a good example this week. Had his worst game in nearly a year but kept on going.

6. Gus 5. Oliver 4. Bowey 3. Langdon 2. Weed. 1. May
-
The problem is BBB always brings the ball to ground. Weed is letting the Essendon defenders mark too often.
-
Good quarter but Harmes and Weed can't be missing from 25 metres out even if it is a bit blowy. Have winners all over the ground at the moment.

I'm nervous!

Is having a very good season.

Jason Bennett, Adam Papalia and Anthony Hudson are three of the better callers. Not having played AFL is certainly an advantage!
-
Played a great game Saturday. So much poise for a nine gamer. Wish he'd shave off that ginger mo' though!

OP was not disrespectful and made an observation that many Demonlanders have mentioned in other posts. Insulting people is not the way to discuss topics raised.

Sexton had three touches. Smith was great.

Generous on Tomlinson who I thought was beaten numerous times tonight. Jordon may be rarely sighted but had 22 touches and provides an important link in the chain.

Good win. GC played pretty well. Thir midfield is excellent with Miller and Rowell Bowey was very good in Salem's role. Jackson great. Trac probably has six Brownlow votes. Loved Pickett's goal. Worried about Max's form. Was a liability tonight.

6. Trac 5. Jacko 4. Bowser 3. Oliver 2. May 1. ANB

Put the foot down this quarter and we'll burn them off the park. As good as LJ and Petracca have been we have had some strugglers. Fritta, Harmes, Hunt, Langdon have done very little.
-
Good second half to the quarter. Suns hit us with everything. Jackson has been incredible. May great as well.
