Heard today that the Pontsford stand was closed? Some misreable Hawks supporter called up SEN to complain and old Dweebo (Dwayno) had a chuckle and blamed the MFC that not many of their supporters would show up. 1) i find Dweebo so annoying, but i was going for a lunch walk and had already exhaused all podcast options. 2) I would have thought stand access was more MCG than MFC ?

Usually I’d agree and on this occasion you are probably right. Do you remember Goody and Pert last year? “Beat culture” type stuff. The club eroded a lot of trust through that debacle and the media absolutely feasted on it that is why I approach all MFC public comms with a degree of caution and healthy skepticism.

Maybe so, but dont be so ready to drink the cool-aid so easily. Members have a right to ask questions and not take everything at face value. Like most, im more inclined to think this situation is a complete beat-up, however if you were to entertain for a minute that it isnt, what do you expect Simon or any other person in the club to say to the media? Do you honestly think that theywill come out and say yep Clarry is thinking of leaving or unhappy with TOG or anything other than the reasons that have been shared? Or for that matter if the club is not in the know AND Oliver's camp is leaking this stuff to soften the shock around an incoming trade request, do you honestly expect Oliver to come out and admit? I mean we are not school children here. On the counter argument, things are also not that straight forward around why the media keep pursuing this if there isnt anything noteworthy - there are plenty of other stories in the media. What is the motivation driving every journo to push this story? is it really to further Geelong's agenda to pick up Oliver from the bargain bin? Does Tommy have a vendetta against Melbourne and pounces at any opportunity? Is McClure pursuing meida relevance and clicks? All of the above? we just dont know.

You have no idea how mad other clubs supporters are. We are nothing compared to other clubs in terms of how low they are willing to stoop.

if Freo cannot beat the Pies tonight, then they are absolutely wasting a primed list. As i have no vested interest in that team, it is clear that their tactics, particularly ball movement are just not right. Hayden Young is a big loss for them, but i also rate Jordan Clark off HB, he is quick and makes good decisions.

Yes I saw that, however he was then caught off guard with what Gerard had to say wrt to multiple outlets releasing multiple stories about Clarry on the same day indicating that it is unlikely a to be co incidence and that it - on the balance of probabilities- indicates a planned leak from Oliver’s camp. Garrys view was also relating more to the point around Clarrys frustration with TOG being a motivation for the MH break.

You can’t rule it out no matter what people on here say. It is always a possibility with Clarry or for any other player for that matter. I mean who expected Trac to behave the way he did last year or May / Melksham. Egos make young people do silly unpredictable things.

I have no idea what Bruhn has done but it’s clearly serious given the suppression order in place . I wait with bated breath what the Cats do when it becomes public knowledge and how the media react particularly if he is found guilty by the courts.

I’d accept this as a possibility if it was just Jay Clark and McClure. But there are multiple outlets / platforms running with this which is why I’m not so sure. You’d expect at least some of these to validate the source. I get that journalism is no longer the shining beacon of integrity as well so…

Gerard made an interesting observation on 360 in that multiple outlets have all run with this storey suggesting someone from Oliver’s camp is leaking this information deliberately. I don’t want to believe it but it is a logical supposition. You’d expect that the more outlets reporting this tells you there is something there and I’d doubt that McClure or Morris would be seen as credible sources. I dunno what to believe.

Gaz has made the show watchable for me once again. I know he’ll go hard at the Dees if we are going [censored] but at least I know that comes from a - wait for it- place of love. I also get the sense that he won’t put up with any [censored] directed at the club either. Yes he tends to go a bit overboard trying to play the ‘I’m not just saying this as a MFC supporter’. Maybe he should join the circus and start peddling MFC propaganda content to further our cause.

He was ok on the mid week tackle last year, but his work so far this year has been quite average. How he got the gig as Chief HS footy writer over Jon Ralph beggars belief.

Does anyone know what injuries? I recall hearing about his knee and he always had issues with shoulders and that dreaded finger. Was there anything else?
