  1. Whats the mood like today GW?
  2. apparently that wasn't on Crowe's recommended reading list.
  3. Personally would not mind a session involving concrete bags, mouthguards, grappling, 100 x 100s and to mend all wounds, Storytime with Goodwin reading "The I Love You Book"
  4. Im sure the whole team had plenty of input into the theme framing. Its a double edged sword. When it works, its ground-breaking, creative and insightful. When it doesn't it can see as well, what we are.
  5. Surely he plays a game at Casey first? It would be irresponsible to subject him to the firsts.
  6. Have you watched us in the first 4 rounds?
  7. I would presume there would be a standard AFL irretractable clause in his contract on payout terms. It would be interesting to see whether the 6-month clause would apply in his circumstance. I think it plays a major factor in whether they sack him sooner rather than later. If we didn't want anything to bleed into next year's soft cap, then end of April would give us the 6 month mark until 31st October (presuming this is when contracts are signed to). Coincidentally the next 4 games will be telling - it is the easiest part of our fixture for the year. Bombers, Dockers, Tigers, Eagles. If he wins 2, i think it buys him until the bye round. Any worse and i reckon 'fork in it'. The other interesting thing that occurred to me today was that nobody in the team is publicly coming out and defending Goody. Look at the Blues, Walsh, Crippa and their leaders are taking the fall for their performances. I don't think i have seen or heard the Dees coming out and accepting the blame (i maybe wrong but am on a media blackout)
  8. I said on a different thread (i think) that at some point you have to start thinking about the damage to season '26. I mean this year is just about done, but there is a risk that this [censored] storm continues into next year and if that happens, then we are in dire straights and we shouldn't be in with our current list. We dont have an age profile like Collingwood. Interestingly we did play older than the Cats on the weekend.
  9. forgot the fine print. wasnt meant to be quoted in terms of MCG food prices. If that was the case, i would just said a single serving packet of tomato sauce
  10. I think its safe to say Trac doesn't have the right qualities to be a leader. Yes, he sets high standards and has a thirst for success, but those qualities alone are not what drives a great leader. I really hoped he would step into the void Gus left, but the events of last year made it clear he misses the mark on a number of fronts. May, Lever, Melksham all have some good leadership qualities - they are from perfect - but am surprised are not more present. Maybe they are behind the scenes who knows. Then there is Jack Viney. The heart and soul player. He is getting absolutely hammered by the media and Demonlanders alike. Poor fella. There is enough there to pull the playing group inline i think but they would be under immense pressure to keep everyone positive given the poor start.
  11. He is clearly getting his segment ideas from this forum.
  12. i wouldn't say none. We did apparently pass up on Hogan before he went to GWS. Would have only cost us a small hot chips and coke too.
  13. I Ultimately our lack of solving the forward line issues whether itโ€™s personnel or connection. It has finally caught up to us.
  14. I know we are playing abysmally - so far from anything that resembles the potential of this team. Its really unnerving. I think its safe to say that finals is just borderline impossible. We are playing so bad, i dont think it can actually get much worse- yes there is the potential for 100+ drubbings, but the talent on our list wont let that happen, not yet anyhow. My concern is actually not with this year anymore, i think the damage is done. If we don't start to turn this ship around soon, its going to creep into next year too. Think similar to 2020 when we came good after the bye round. To me this would look like kicking more than 10 goals a game with a good balance of scores from turnover and stoppage. Good defensive half transition and some healthier stats in all phases of the game. We must hit the bye round with at least 5 wins including an upset to a finals bound team. Hopefully then another 3-4 wins by the end of the season playing decent football - resembling the modern game - is about as best we can hope for. Failing this, we will likely be in no mans land again next year and probably less a few of our stars. If that happens then we are genuinely looking at a full rebuild, suggest you all find a different hobby for the next 5-10 years because i sure as [censored] dont have the patience to go through another one.
  15. My thoughts exactly. He is so articulate in his explanation. I hope he still has the ear of some of the players. They need to hear this...its damning but fixable. I reckon its every single senior player that has this ego problem. Sheparding, tackling, covering, chasing. We hardly do this stuff or way too few do it.
  16. Can we beat the Tigers? They move the ball better than us right now.
  17. If it was only 2-5% we'd be ok. Just look at the player ratings. Viney is almost half the player he was. Thats almost a 50% drop in player ratings compared to last year Trac is not much better. was something like 40% down compared to his pre-injury. Oliver is actually better but his year last year was not the best to compare to. Rivers, Fritta and so many more are actually significantly, double digits, down in terms of performance ratings. It is absolutely woeful. Nobody could have predicted this in their worst nightmare.
  18. The whole team bonding session has failed dismally in Bright. That much is clear. Figure out who is at centre of this. Clarry? Trac? and [censored] them off end of year for whatever we can salvage. Frankly I don't care as long as the rot has been stopped. They are both contracted for another 5+ years and we cannot continue to have them impact the stability and wellbeing of the club. The best scenario we can hope for is to have both Trac and Oliver play well and consistently to attract at least some interest and value. But our position right now as a club will mean that we will get absolutely murdered on the negotiating front. If we can get a single first round pick for both players, we just have to take it. Makes me feel ill, but this is how toxic the whole situation is. We cant also be taking only draft picks either. We have to overpay to get other players in the door. Have to chase pre-agents. Its going to be so difficult to get anyone to come in atm given the absolute joke of a club we have become in the last 6 months. Only MFC can implode the way we have. How i wish i didnt love this club and that i could just not give a [censored].
  19. Absolutely and i think there will be a lot of coaches thinking that there is a good chance they can make us a contender again without moving things around too much.
  20. They are coming for him. i have no doubt he'll be gone in the next 4 weeks. i cant see us winning a game with the direction we are taking.
  21. Because Rivers is having a smashing year. He has regressed big time.
  22. 136 pressure points in Q4. These players do not give a [censored]. That is abysmal. Has to be close to the record Port earlier this year as the worst on record. That is not fatigue, but a team that is lost.
  23. Is he playing his role? He needs to do the team thing and stick a tackle as well.
  24. I think it depends on the reason we are performing so poorly. For me itโ€™s probably the playing group more than it is Goody.
  25. As much as ppl would hate it. James Hird has to be an option. I think he is a good blend of football brain and modern coach with a good read on the modern game. I reckon he would have an impact similar to Mitchell if he was given the chance. What ever he done at Essendon was in the past and he has paid for his indiscretions.
