  1. A lot of grey area involved when you’re talking about players wanting/attempting to leave a club. Nothing is proven. Who do you believe? Looking in from the outside, It’s largely speculation and guesswork. Players who’ve actually left a club… well, that’s an absolute. Is there a substantial difference? When you’re discussing the sacking of a coach, hell yeah there’s a difference, a huge difference. Just to remind you of what you said… “The fact that we've had so many of our best players with a foot out the door over the past few years should be enough to get Goodwin sacked on its own”
  2. “Players with a foot out the door” Interesting metric. I’d sooner go with something solid like “Players with both feet out the door, ie. gone”
  3. Noah has a sparse covering of downy hair on his sweet little head 🥹
  4. Yeah, that’s Will’s nickname. He told me this at the Season Launch. He said it’s because he’s in the pool at every opportunity.
  5. Tommy Sparrow’s 100th this weekend. The banner says: TOM SPARROW - SWOOPING IN FOR 100 GAMES Pretty cool that his milestone game is in Adelaide. His family and friends will be out on the field when he runs through the banner.
  6. All good, YB. I’m sometimes too sensitive and I’m trying to change that but I’m a work in progress. Thank you for explaining. And while I wouldn’t say they’re favourites, there are two players with whom Goody is extremely close, and that’s Clarrie and Koz. Both of these guys regard Goody as kinda like a father.
  7. Is that a trick question? 😁
  8. I think each case should be looked at individually, ie. no blanket rule. Imo Judd should absolutely come straight back into the seniors. His absence has been relatively short and his young age likely means he’s healed earlier than an older player would. If confidence and eagerness is also taken into account, he’s more than ready.
  9. At Gosch’s last Thursday a dog ran towards the boundary line and looked as though he wanted to run onto the field. The owner got there in time to put his lead back on and walk him away. The funny thing is the dog had a tennis ball in his mouth. I turned to the Demonlander next to me and said imagine the apocalyptic melts on DL if a tennis ball was on the field. 🙃
  10. Yeah. It’s at Casey behind locked gates and it’s where the serious stuff happens. It usually goes for two and a half hours or so and there’s nary a soccer ball to be seen. Edit: tomorrow’s session will decide if X is available for this weekend. He was “almost there” for the Geelong match, so I reckon he’ll pass the test tomorrow 🤞🏽 Also Judd’s been told he’s looking good for the Freo match and he’s delighted with this.
  11. Surely you know I’m gonna say he doesn’t have favourites, and that’s because I believe he doesn’t. If he does, he sure hides it well. I took issue with your comment because I think it’s highly disrespectful to suggest a head coach selects his “favourites” over others in the side. That’s so unproductive and extremely unprofessional. Do you really think, especially at 0-4, Goody would prioritise mate-ship above everything else?
  12. Set up the guillotine y’all. The boys have a day off today. I know right! How dare they have a day off when we’re 0-4! I’m so outraged that I’m gonna flood Demonland with my ridiculous whinging and whining. And by day off I mean there’s no scheduled training of any type. Many of them choose to train in some capacity on a day off, some are involved in footy clinics for kids or visiting elderly and/or ill fans. But still… wah wah wah 😩 Also, they all attended a club function last night, a trivia night with player-sponsors, and get a load of this… they were having fun!!! Preposterous!!! I even saw some of them laughing!!!
  13. How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?
  14. Kudos to you for admitting it. Now if everyone else could follow suit we could stop the ridiculous discussion about a non-issue.
  15. No, he’s not looking around. I don’t know where Pickett gets his info from but I doubt that it’s reliable. Unless Pickett has accurate info from someone inside the Club who has told him the club are offloading Fritta, then no, Fritta’s not leaving our club.
  16. What makes you so sure of this?
  17. No. Cheers, Ghosty
  18. VOTE FOR SALO! MOTY contender Friday night sucked. Let’s get something positive from it! VOTE NOW!!!!
  19. IT’S 20 MINUTES OUT OF MANY, MANY HOURS OF INTENSE TRAINING. WHY AM I YELLING? THAT’D BE BECAUSE THIS ISN’T SINKING IN WITH SOME PEOPLE. Geez Louise 🙄
  20. No, the next session is at Casey on Thursday morning. The Captain’s Run is on Friday arvo in Adelaide (Hisense Arena) and there’s a Family Day at Casey this Tuesday (April 15th) at 9:30am, this replaces the flush run that’s usually at Gosch’s on the Tuesday. The only chance you’ll get to take the kids to Gosch’s on the school holidays is the pre-Freo match Captain’s Run next Friday morning (April 18th) at 10am. As is always the case, this is subject to change, oftentimes with zero notice.
  21. Missing the point
  22. Reposting this in case some of the anti-soccer ball brigade missed it.
  23. Yep. There’s nothing like 8:30am on a Wednesday at the doors of an Aldi to sort the men from the boys. The Boxing Day sales? Pfft amateurs. Out my way, when the ordinarily sweet and friendly Maltese pensioners hear the first crank of the roller door, it’s on for young and old. I used to meet up with a friend on Wednesday mornings, we’d get a coffee and sit and watch the carnage. It was heart in mouth stuff.
  24. No, I’m not. ☹️ I went to Gather Round the first two years but this year the airfare and accommodation price rises are through the roof, so much higher than the previous two years, therefore it’s out of reach for me and many others in the DA. I’m so disappointed with not being able to go that I’ve emailed Andrew Dillon telling him he’s effectively taking the live footy experience away from the everyday people. I don’t expect a reply but writing it was quite therapeutic.
  25. I really don’t think that adage is meant in a literal sense.
