  1. Except that’s NOT what I asked. I asked a poster named SFebes what he meant by His selections fuel poor culture issues. It’s not that I didn’t like the answers I was given, it’s that I don’t believe my question AS I ASKED IT was answered. I expect an answer from the poster who said it might be more relevant.
  2. Hard to avoid it or argue against it in any other thread, but it shouldn’t figure in this thread. It’s insufferable having to read the depressing negative posts about the MFC when watching/talking about NON-MFC games.
  3. Definitely recommend you do. It’s good for one’s mind, body and soul. It’s good for Australia. It’s good for everything.
  4. Oh ffs please give it a rest. We all know how our first quarter against GCS went, it’s been discussed at length in the relevant threads. But to disguise your dig at us by crediting Essendon? Are you giving them props for their following three quarters? Thought not 🙄
  5. Archer is the son of Dermott Brereton’s partner which is why with every mark he takes and/or goal he kicks the cameras go straight to Brereton in the stands. This pisses me off royally, as does the number of times the cameras go to Peter Daicos in the stands whenever Nick does anything of note. Sure, show the parents of a debutante if you must but they’re still doing it now.
  6. Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but this round sees the top eight play the bottom eight, hence the mauling of some sides already and likely more to follow. This Ess/GCS match is close-ish now but will probs end up with Essendon being mercilessly thrashed. Or at least I hope so!!!
  7. Will always be a Demon to me 😢 My lounge room wall ⬆️ 😅
  8. I don’t know what you mean 🤷‍♀️
  9. It’s always easier looking in from the outside then speculating, especially when we’re losing. The kids clearly know/see things that engender hope and positivity.
  10. My point still is, the kids and their parents are happy to be with us. That’s a fact. A toxic culture would surely impact this.
  11. Again, it’s open to interpretation. I was expressing how I interpret it. You just expressed how you do.
  12. Yeah I love Midsumma…awesome event. Never not fun 🎉🥳 🏳️‍⚧️ I just took issue with your praise for Collingwood because I don’t think it’s deserved any more than it is for the other 17 clubs. Folks might get the impression that it is but that’s likely because they see news items centred on what Collingwood does, maybe because of their massive following and that they’re the media darlings. I’m sure you can understand why I took issue, especially with your comparison when you said, Maybe Carlton should take their lead and the Dees connect more with the Reach Program.
  13. With respect, you only addressed “culture” in your last paragraph, and even then you defined it as “mates having your back. All marching to the same beat” which imo isn’t an accurate definition. Perhaps it’s open to interpretation, in which case I’d take into account (among other things) the fact that Kozzie and Judd have re-signed, the young brigade (Kolt, X, Harvey, Leb and Luker) don’t regret being drafted by us, nor do their parents. Our Cat. B rookie Oscar Berry chose us from six interested clubs and Kalani is looking extremely likely to choose us over the GCS. Even Toby Sinnema wants to be with us. For mine, that’s proof of a good culture.
  14. All 18 clubs do this. The difference is clubs vary in how much they publicise it. You struck a nerve when you said “The Pies are leaders in supporting homeless youth.” Did you know we’re the only AFL club to field a team for Sleep at the ‘G each year? Melbourne City Mission holds Sleep at the ‘G, the biggest Homeless Youth event in Vic. with all proceeds going to their Homeless Youth programs. Our team comprises DA members, admin staff (incl. board members) and some of the players even get onboard. And of Collingwood you say “they are lead by competent people who have a strong value toward diversity.” Every year in February there’s a huge event called Midsumma Festival which includes a Pride march. The MFC is the only club who assembles an organised group to march under the AFL banner. The Pink Pies aren’t unique. Most clubs, if not all, have an LGBTIQA+ group who are much loved and supported within their club. Our Ruby Demons are one such group and I believe this was the first of such groups to be formed. It’s wonderful that all clubs participate in events that give back to the community, but please don’t put Collingwood on a pedestal, above every other club, it’s simply not warranted.
  15. Thanks for having a go at it, and I understand what you’re saying. My question is where does “culture” come into it? The poster said “His selections fuel poor culture issues.” The word Culture gets bandied about so much that it’s lost its true definition. Culture isn’t something that changes from day to day or week to week, nor does it change depending on whether we win or lose, nor is it interchangeable with whatever else may be an issue at the present time. Had the poster said “His selections fuel angst…” for example, or “… disharmony…” for another example, the assertion might make more sense.
  16. Not me, Macca. I’m not attached to our players at all
  17. What does this even mean? Honestly, I’m curious. What does it mean?
  18. Do you also promise to not post for all of the 2026 H&A season if Goody is our coach next year? Asking for a friend who’s been hanging onto an expensive Shiraz waiting for a great reason to open it. 😝
  19. Yeah, I don’t know the nature of the hand issue but a couple of the players told me she’s been told not to participate in anything that involves using her hand. Neither hand was strapped or otherwise showing any discomfort etc. so maybe they’re just being super cautious this far out from the season proper.
  20. She trained with the main group today and looked fine 👍🏽
  21. No, NC. We actually don’t. Seriously, we don’t. Yin will be fine and dandy without Yang. If Beelzebub wants to take an entire season’s break from posting, why stand in his way?! For the love of all that’s good and holy, let the man take a well-earned break! PS: Maybe we are both somewhat deranged, the difference is I’m deranged in a good way. 🙃
  22. Some DA members at the airport today were talking to Kalani. He told them he’s looking forward to playing for Casey towards the end of the season. The boy’s a Demon, no doubt about it ♥️💙🥳
  23. TBF Milton’s huge and can easily out-body even the best defenders.
  24. Macca is doing sprints. The other girls are amazing with their encouragement. She’s not participating in the main group because they don’t want her using her hand while it’s healing. Kev is right about the change in her body. She isn’t as slight as she was, she’s filled out, especially around the hips and thighs. Good luck bringing her down in a tackle, oppo!
