  1. Yeah finding the words is very hard. I haven’t watched any of the coverage yet, I’d forgotten it was on and I was watching the tennis. Got a text that just said ā€œNeale, finally šŸ’–ā€ and I burst into tears. The relief was overwhelming.
  2. Definitely The Dream… but imagine the stress of the last few minutes!!! Not sure any of us would hold up. 😳 Your boss would be ok… must be used to losing Grand Finals by now šŸ˜‚
  3. Every year when I hear who’s won this award I have the same thought: what if Neale’s not given the honour while he’s still alive. This is a great relief. What a beautiful soul he is.
  4. Me and ChatGPT think this will happen… As well as this…

My question is: why would anyone order this in any colour other than yellow?
  6. Can’t say I’ve heard about that being the reason but it’s funny. šŸ˜‚ He told me Gussy came up with it because… Halfway House (Howes)
  7. I don’t give them their nicknames, I’m just telling folks what they’ve told me are their nicknames and what I hear them call each other. The Duke is a great nickname for Caleb but they all call him Leb and he really likes it.
  8. LOVE this movie. She’s an inspiring woman is Annie Wilkes. 😁
  9. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a player call him Lingers out on the park. They call him either Langers or Ed. Yes Gussy gave Blake Howes the nickname Halfway which Blake said was funny but isn’t what they call him. It’s Howesy all the way. A couple of years ago Deakyn Smith told me that his nickname was Deaks. I said that’s not very imaginative and he said that’s how the giving of nicknames always goes: they toss around a heap of suggestions then end up settling on the first (and least imaginative) one. 🤣
  10. Nothing’s hard and fast with these things. You mentioned Tmac and that’s one of those grey areas. I’ve heard the boys call him Tommy and sometimes Macca as well as Tmac but I reckon it’s fans who mostly call him Tmac. Harvey would likely have been called Langers except for Ed already having that nickname and Ricky Mentha is Ricky despite Jake being nicknamed Rick. Clarrie gets Claz from the coaches but I hear the boys call him Clarrie. Kozzie seems to get Koz and Kozzie from the players, except not from his uncle Roy who has a family nickname for him which he told me but asked me not to tell people which is not a problem since I can’t for the life of me remember it šŸ˜…
  11. Nobody at the club calls him The Duke. Not his teammates, not the coaches, not the training staff… nobody. Someone on here called him The Duke when we first drafted him but honestly, it’s never caught on.
  12. The session at Casey on the 14th of February is an open session and is also a Family Day of sorts, despite being on a weekday when kids have gone back to school šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
  13. Anyways my track-watching buddy just sent me this (rushed) report from this morning’s session at Casey. Some of it is hard to understand, apologies in advance, but also thanks to my awesome gal-pal for taking notes. Judd running, but fast. Max in green cap and one other Kozzies back! Training normally 31 32 9 40 ? 22 14 16 23 22 11 33 1 2 2613 36 38 41 33 39 7 5 25 35 3 15 24 17 20 45 21 28 39 9 29 26 8 14 (9 Harry Sharp) Spargs running around oval with trainer Great drill coming out of backline kicking ball into the forward line deep over players head so the must look backwards to mark ball 33 sprinting on other side of the ground 10.30 split into 2 teams greys and blues and 5 rehabs Max Trac 20 (Kolt wearing 20)33 8 21. (rehab one on one ball skills then laps) 37 27 doing laps during match sim Disco in sim - no number Need to get Roy George on our list! But seriously need Roy on our list- he was great today!
  14. They seem loath to have anyone watching nowadays. The view from the fence is cr@pp and many of the drills are done on the opposite side of the ground which makes it hard to see who’s who, even when they’re wearing their own numbers.
  15. Thank you so much to all who bought snags in bread and/or drinks at our sausage sizzles, or who just donated. We TRULY appreciate it. Dees supporters are SO generous as well as being awesome people coz… Dees supporters. ā¤ļøšŸ’™ Every $ goes to the Demon Army so this year look out for a lot of new props in the cheer squad. (I’ve been nagging for ages for a giant Melky head. Hopefully this is the year!!!) šŸ¤žšŸ½šŸ¤žšŸ½šŸ¤žšŸ½
  16. And run the risk of having to tell folks we’ve sold out? That’s a big bunch of hell no. It’s bad enough when we run out of onions. 😭
  17. All good, hardtack. Changes/additions etc would be rare and if they had to be made I can just quote the OP and make the changes.
  18. I would’ve heard it but never noticed. Now that you’ve said it I will undoubtedly notice and then never stop noticing 🤣 Handheld banner ideas abound!!!
  19. This is my reason for using nicknames; it’s a term of endearment. It would feel weird to call them by their real names. I don’t think I’ve ever called my own sons by their real names. I can’t even remember their real names šŸ˜‚
  20. The poor bastard groans when he knows we’ve got a sausage sizzle coming up, but the groaning was next level because two sausage sizzles in three days = bigger than usual sausage overload. šŸ˜‚
  21. I’ve just started a new thread dedicated to players’ current nicknames. Some have more than one so I listed the one I hear them use the most. Of course there’s sometimes a nickname we use on here that nobody calls the player eg. Andy Moniz-Wakefield is referred to as AMW on here but gets called Andy by his teammates.
