Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
I’m doing my level best to this end. My brother and his two sons* are sitting in the cheer squad tomorrow and I’ve told them they may not necessarily be near me since we’ll likely have to spread people out. A sparse cheer squad bay is not a good look. *Carlton fans who’ve agreed to wear Dees regalia because they know it’s unwise to make Aunt Ghosty angry 😅

Oftentimes DeeZone is the only reason I bother with this site. I dearly wish there were more DeeZone-ish folks on here.

PREGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
But that was MY point. I was posting purely in response to people suggesting Jack ought not play because his injury may be exacerbated. As for the rest of it, I agree this would be a great opportunity to give someone else a go.

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
No doubt about it, you’re a sweetheart, QD. But no amount of any of the above would help, for one can’t masquerade as a Carlton supporter* for 20 years without retaining a soft spot for them. I’m just happy I still get invited to family functions 😁 *it’s a long story, I’ve explained it here before and I don’t wanna bore folks by repeating it.

I agree, other players should be given a go, and Jack’s injury is an opportunity for such. What I take issue with, and what my point is, the folks disparaging our medical staff as though they know more than them. Our doctors and physios and trainers deserve to be respected and appreciated. If we had the injury list length of some clubs everyone would be sinking the boots in.

Hashtag parapraxis 😁 This shouldn’t have anything to do with who the coach is but clearly it does. No matter who is coaching a team, and where that team is on the ladder, do you think club doctors would allow a player to play with an injury if there was any risk of the injury being compounded? That’s not just stupidity, it’s a dereliction of duty.

Oh but PSDee, dontchya know? The medical experts on Demonland are way more knowledgeable on this than our club medics. Please don’t spoil the Club pile-on with your sensible surmising.

My entire family is Carlton. I’ll need to stock up on defibrillators for when Jack goes to Collingwood. 😁

Farewell Judd McVee
Definitely would factor into it, along with other things. On Tuesday he said he can’t tell me the reasons the announcement has yet to be made, but he confirmed what he’s been saying all along. He’s not leaving the Dees. Lily is also happy at the Dees and I can’t see why they wouldn’t offer her another contract.

I spoke to some of the “Irish dancers” before the match. Not one of them is a trained Irish dancer. Their outfits weren’t traditional Irish dance attire. There was nothing Irish about the whole thing. I know a lot of folks enjoyed the novelty but personally I found it a bit of a mockery. Clearly the club didn’t consult the relevant people.

Don’t mean go all Karen on your arze, Wrecker, but that wasn’t Irish music. It’s a hymn called “Lord of the Dance” and it was written by an English songwriter and based on a traditional English carol. And I know this because Sr Margaret Mary used to make us sing it every single day at St Aloysius college much to my parents’ chagrin. 😝

Agreed. You don’t go to a concert and expect to see/hear snippets of a footy match.
