The Tmac fam attends training often because Lmac (Leo) insists on being there. He loves watching his dad. A while ago I mentioned on here about when I asked Leo who his favourite player is and he said, “Tom McDonald, number 25, Melbourne Football Club.” So formal 🥹 Well there’s been a change. Yesterday Tmac’s partner Ruby told Leo to “Tell Ghosty who your favourite player is.” Turns out Leo’s favourite player is, as he put it, “number 32” (not so formal). Reason being, when Spaz is at theirs for dinner he reads bedtime stories to Leo. When you’re 4yo that’ll do it 😁 According to Spaz though, they’re not bedtime stories; Leo has a book called Where’s Bluey? similar to Where’s Wally? and this is Leo’s book of choice because “he’s all across it, he finds Bluey before I do, he kicks my @rse every time.” 😅

Yes, David Stiff is our new psych. Not sure if you’re joking but Matty Scarlett would’ve researched and done his homework before accepting the position with us. He’d be a fool not to have. As @Go Ds said, he volunteered his opinion. I didn’t ask him any questions, I just thanked him for accepting the gig and he was resolute in his reasons for doing so.

Much ado about nothing right here. GWS parodying the Mitch Cleary thing is GWS doing GWS things. I can’t see why Melbourne supporters are offended by Clarrie’s comment. He no longer plays for us. PS: today Salo said he and Fritta and Langers along with several others are still close friends with Clarrie and keep in regular contact with him. Salo said there’s no feeling of bad blood against Clarrie amongst the playing group. I reckon supporters should maybe keep this in mind when slow (no) news days result in silly articles such as the one above. IN MY EVER SO HUMBLE OPINION.

Today I met Matty Scarlett. He’s a lovely person. I thanked him for coming to work with us and he said it was his pleasure because our club is run so well and he’s happy to be part of a club that’s looking likely to succeed next season. Kingy asked me if I’ve met David, our new psych, which I have. Then Kingy told me David’s a former professional basketball player who played for several sides in the NBL, boasting six championships, which is the league record for most championships for an individual player. Kingy said, “Google him, he’s very accomplished.” And he is, the six championships were with three different teams, including a three-peat with the Sydney Kings. Early in his career he spent three years playing college basketball in the U.S. for the Boston Terriers. Then he returned to Australia to begin his record haul of championships. Kingy said he likes having a wide range of talents from various backgrounds and David is yet another example of this.

This doesn’t mean 1/3 of our best 22 are injured. Some of them are being monitored, some have a minor niggle, some are almost right to go having come back from injury but they’re waiting until the new year before putting them back in the main group. Two of them are in concussion protocols. An example: Shane is tracking really well and will be in full training in January. He says that right now they’re concentrating on getting him sprinting and changing direction suddenly. He’s ticked all the other boxes.

I investigated further. X had a mishap at training last week and complained of a sore foot. Scans etc. showed no damage, everything is fine, and he trained as usual on Friday. This morning his foot was sore again (same foot) so they decided to put him in rehab until the soreness is completely gone. He likely won’t be running on Wednesday either.

X said he’s all good and gave a thumbs up. I shall investigate further. 😁

Poor Ricky M. Not only did he have gastro last week but he also had the flu. This is why Roo came back to training earlier than him. He’s well over it now though

Langers not out of concussion protocols yet. Max said he won’t be until January which is technically true since this Wednesday is the last session but Max thought saying January was hilarious. Gotta admire someone who heartily laughs at his own ‘jokes’ 🤡

My first mission today is to give Jack Steele a birthday cupcake which I bought this morning because I accidentally ate his Demon Army cupcake on Saturday. He’d forgotten to come pick it up and I had no choice but to eat it 🤭

I miss him too, and you’re right: he was loyal to end. But what’s done is done and there’s no going back. He seems to be in a good headspace now and hopefully he’s left his troubles behind.

He’s devastated by the loss of Clarrie, as am I, and going by your avi and previous username I’m guessing you might be as well. We all express ourselves differently. PF knee-jerkkz in uppercase threats to leave Demonland. Again, harmless.

To be fair, PF’s not the only one who’s ever vowed (in anger) to quit DL only to continue posting. I’ve seen it happen and I haven’t even been on here for as long as most folks. Imho PF is harmless and there’s no shortage of folks on here who aren’t.

Clarrie was at Marty Hore’s wedding yesterday. A close friend of mine was also there. She told me Clarrie is looking great and he told her he’s currently really happy and he’s settling well in Sydney. He has no animosity towards the MFC. Clarrie is enjoying reuniting with Tobes (Bedford) and they spend a fair bit of time together. He mentioned a few other teammates who he has become close to. No mention of Jake Stringer.

The players who were absent yesterday were at Marty Hore’s wedding in Millewa, a town in Northwestern Vic. Also at Marty’s wedding were Harmesy, Dom Tyson and Clarrie among other former Demons.

The only opportunity to watch them train on a Saturday is when we have a Sunday game meaning the captain’s run is on the Saturday. On Saturdays they do hill-running and gym. BTW, you should’ve made yourself known in our tent today. I would’ve asked you to make a best 23 sausages side 😝 PS they indeed were the VFLW players training on Gosch’s very early this morning.

Great turnout today. The club is delighted with how many people showed up, especially since rain and even possible thunderstorms were predicted. So many kids decked out in their regalia… a wonderful sight. We sold out of almost everything. That means more giant heads on the horizon 🥳 A huge thank you to the Demonlanders who attended and supported the DA by buying our wares. I was relieved of my duties as till-b!ttch for a spell in order to find Steeley to give him a cupcake for his birthday (today he turned 30). I hadda battle through the multitude of weekenders to get to him but it was worth it, he was so grateful. Luker came to see me but only because we have this “tradition” at sausage sizzles where I smuggle a cupcake out to him. Hence, he came to see the cupcake, not me 😁 But the best thing about today on a personal level is that Shane brought his partner Taylor over to meet me and… he let me hold their 12-week-old baby girl, Mia 🥹 All in all It was a great success.

I trust y’all are currently on your way to Gosch’s right now, or will be leaving home shortly. Right? There’s a fun time to be had for kidlets and adults alike! Come and meet the new players. They’re all great guys. Not a d’head to be seen. Although, if d’heads are your thang, I believe Collingwood is training over the other side of AAMI 🤭 ❤️💙 SEEYA THERE! ❤️💙
