  1. … and we’d stay for the entire time, wouldn’t we Kev? 😅 Kev, you know I love you so we might just have to agree to disagree on this one. 👍🏽
  2. I agree it’s the program. What I don’t agree with is expecting to see anything of substance at the S&Gs runs at Gosch’s. That’s not the purpose of those runs. If what we see at Gosch’s for 10 mins in terms of goal kicking practice was all they were doing of course we’d have every right to question that and even be furious about it. But that’s not what these runs are about. This is how it’s been explained to me and I believe it.
  3. All good, Kev. I’m only repeating what I’ve been told by coaches and physios and the doc, and by the players who sometimes aren’t sure what’s next in their personal schedule until they’re told just prior to getting back to AAMI. But I do think we’re looking way too deeply into this. The flush and captain’s runs account for 40-60 minutes per week, that’s a small percentage of time spent training. There’s myriad other forms of training they undertake for many, many hours per week. And we all know the real stuff happens behind locked gates at Casey. They also sometimes train somewhere in Port Melbourne. Idk in what capacity, I just know they do. As for how it looks to fans… I don’t think appeasing spectators is high on the agenda, nor should it be IN MY OPINION.
  4. I agree with this, except it’s not one or even a handful of players, it’s the whole team, which is baffling.
  5. Unfortunately folks thought you were being serious about it being too cold for the players and now there’s comments about how soft they are.
  6. It’s known as a recovery run but just this year the coaches and physios etc. have been calling it a flush run.
  7. They actually don’t get a choice, they’re told who goes where, when and what they have to do next. It does look unstructured to us, but it’s actually not. The only reason I’m bringing this up is because I see people replying/reacting to your post with anger at the thought of the players opting to go inside because it’s too cold. That didn’t happen. That would never happen. As far as I know - from what I’ve been told - the only time choice comes into the equation is at the captain’s runs where Max chooses what’s to be done and by whom. Also, I have a mate who regularly attends training at Casey and she said they practice goal-kicking every session and for a significant length of time.
  8. It’s a great t-shirt but I think there were many leftovers because they’re $70 each.
  9. I remember that 🙂
  10. I also agree with some of what PF says. It’s the relentless repetition that does my head in. And he’s not alone in this respect; there are some folks on here who just don’t let up.
  11. No, Picket Fence is too busy (YELLING THE SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER AGAIN) to be at Gosch’s. 🙃
  12. CARRYST! You’re a BROKEN BLOODY RECORD, aintchya PICKET?!?!?! FAAAARK you really don’t hate repeating yourself DO YOU?!!!!!! 🤨
  13. Hey Kev (long time, no see 😃) just wondering who told you they had the choice? I was told a different story.
  14. Not flat at all, DZ. In fact, very upbeat. Positive vibes all ‘round. The players and coaches and training staff don’t dwell on losses and if they do they don’t show it* not during the flush runs anyways. They were the same (mood-wise) today as they were following the Lions game. Today’s soccer match was the most hotly contested I’ve seen. They were very loud and more animated than usual and were thoroughly enjoying it. Apologies to those who hate hearing about the boys kicking a soccer ball around but this is a flush run and kicking a soccer ball around meets the brief in that respect… IN MY VERY HUMBLE OPINION. *The only exception to this I’ve seen was the flush run after Gather Round, understandable since it was after the fifth consecutive loss.
  15. Correction: Jeffo is here
  16. No Rick Lever, no Melky. AMW looking good and looking very happy. Doing one-on-ones with a trainer. Spargs running along the boundary, in great spirits.
  17. I told JVR he might need his big boy pants for Monday. He said he hasn’t been told yet either way. I said it makes sense to have him selected this week. He said (take a deep breath, PF) “Jeffo’s kicked 10 goals in the past two weeks, it will probably be him.” Probably just a coincidence but Jeffo’s not here today.
  18. Clarrie’s not here, nothing to worry about, it’s just that these sessions are tailored to the individuals and Claz is “Off Legs” today which is sports medicine speak for not running.
  19. Kev is here so expect a decent training report. Sorry, @Roost it far , the deadline of 4pm won’t be met today coz it’s 3pm and they’re not even out on the park yet. I don’t blame them, it’s [censored] freezing right now
  20. Trigger alert!
  21. Yeah I watched it on TV and it annoyed me greatly that they neglected to show different sections of the crowd. It’s particularly annoying because our DA people that made the trip spent much time giving out flags to the adoring fans and setting up a cheer squad, a pretty decent one at that, considering only eight of them were there.
  22. Again, not true. Sure, some of them may not love it, but the majority do. Maybe in the past players didn’t like it, but this current crop certainly do.
  23. Easily 75% possibly more. We have a group of DA members who attend every year and they always talk about how many Dees supporters are there, compared to oppo. As @DeeZone said, the TV coverage would have you believe it was 50/50 but in reality that’s not the case. And honestly, we could get thumped every year and that wouldn’t dampen their enthusiasm one iota. The kids in particular look forward to this game months out and talk about it for months afterwards. For some it’s the highlight of their year.
  24. This is so far from the truth. The overwhelming majority of the locals are going for us. They don’t know of nor would they care about the Melbourne stereotype. We could lose every single game there and nothing would change that. Yes there are supporters of the opposition (St Kilda and Essendon in particular seem to attract supporters) but nowhere near the number of Dees supporters.
  25. I don’t eat KFC either but I had no problem finding friends who do. They give you 52 $30 vouchers which expire in 12 months and I reckon I offloaded the lot in the first month! Thanks for voting, F&T. Now hopefully everyone else votes.
