This is my reason for using nicknames; it’s a term of endearment. It would feel weird to call them by their real names. I don’t think I’ve ever called my own sons by their real names. I can’t even remember their real names 😂

The poor bastard groans when he knows we’ve got a sausage sizzle coming up, but the groaning was next level because two sausage sizzles in three days = bigger than usual sausage overload. 😂

I’ve just started a new thread dedicated to players’ current nicknames. Some have more than one so I listed the one I hear them use the most. Of course there’s sometimes a nickname we use on here that nobody calls the player eg. Andy Moniz-Wakefield is referred to as AMW on here but gets called Andy by his teammates.

I’ll post a list 👍🏽 But I’m surprised you’ve only heard the nickname Chin on here. Everyone at the club calls him Chin. I’ve not heard a player or coach or trainer call him anything else. Even admin staff call him Chin. We have a massive Chin fan in the cheer squad who holds up a handheld banner that says “Sweet Chin Music” and no one has ever questioned him on it. 🤗

He says so himself. He says it’s the fittest and strongest he’s ever felt and he attributes his current mentally great headspace to being a dad. Baby Millie is the perfect addition to his life. Geez he adores that little girl. You get him started on the subject and he doesn’t stop. 🥹

Nah, I asked them if the jumpers were for Harvey and they said who else would they be for (slightly smartarse-ish but whatevs) and I said Josh Schache and they laughed (significantly smartarse-ish).

Anyways the training observations are all well and good but I’ve got the most interesting news… I sold Mr Petracca Senior a snag in bread for his granddaughter Bella (Tracc’s niece) and boy, is he a lovely person! This is little Bella… I also sold three sausages to Stacey Melksham for her kids. Little Teddy is still grappling with the notion that someone other than Melks or one of his kids can wear a guernsey with #18 on the back. Big sister Frankie was quick to let me know that she understands this, there was even a slight eye-roll towards her brother #annoyingLilBro And how good is this… Harvey fans already out and about and he’s yet to play.

I’ll be chained to the DA tent again so won’t be able to submit a training report. We won’t know who’s had a haircut or who has a new girlfriend, but dems da breaks 🙃 However, I will be happy to take your hard-earned in return for the culinary delight that is a snag in bread. There’s so many dates and events to keep up with this off-season, more so than previous years. Not just these open training sessions and praccies, but a ton of other club/DA-related stuff, too. The 14th of February is defs too early in the year.

I read somewhere this morning that Pup left the field limping yesterday and apparently it didn’t look good and he looked upset.

I’m confused. We were told the family day type event at Casey on the 14th of February is a scratch match vs North. Clearly it isn’t. It must be just another open training session 🤷‍♀️

He’s got a “player engagement” role, whatever that means.

No, today was a scheduled open training at Casey, they’ll now resume training behind the locked gates as it usually is.

Ordinarily I’d try to find out what’s up but I’m anchored to the DA tent. Hopefully we’ll find out soon from Selwyn’s report.
