  1. Not that it makes any difference to the result but why does Sparrow continue to 'walk on water'? Seriously, when was the last decent game he has played? 2021 GF? So did everyone. Please don't give me 'he's playing a role'. [censored]. OK, midfield cupboard is fairly bare but make an example this bloke. Promote Brown and let Tom kick off the dew at Casey.
  2. With you all the way on this. In many ways it's been the season from hell. First Clarry, then Brayshaw and Smith, Petracca and now Gawn. What are the odds? Forget finals for me. Be competitive for the remainder of the season and finish as low as possible with respectability. Not in the camp of play and win a final. Adds 3 weeks to your season. Hope Battle and Baker stay and get a decent pick in the top 10. Be aggressive in the trade as we have cap space and half a dozen delistings. Aforementioned players have good pre seasons, younger players continue to develop and it all looks very different.* Only caveat is numerous other times coming at the rate of knots 😏
  3. It's a scandal. Monstered at VFL level. Some on these boards think 'Fullo' is the real deal. Laughable if it wasn't embarrassing.
  4. This could get ugly again. Last week's win against Essendon not that meritorious.
  5. Fair enough but I can't recall a game that Adams has impressed. He rarely gets much of the footy and looks slow. Kentfield is able behind a player like Bell. His chances of 'making it' are negligible.
  6. Whilst not suited to the conditions what on earth did we see in Kentfield? Mind you, didn't seem to bother Bell. 3 disposals. Tracking the same as KFW. Barely seems VFL standard. Jed Adams is better, as one would hope, but is a major concern. 4 disposals as a defender in a losing team is inexplicable.
  7. Yes, he's looking so 'soft'.
  8. Been watching Lobb of late?
  9. Dan Houston. Yes please!🤞
  10. Jack Macrae sub again tonight. Out of favour and can be a ball magnet. Would add to our midfield depth. Turns 30 in a few weeks though.
  11. But they haven't got a first round pick! 🤣
  12. I'm with you. Might not be superstar material but he is a genuine ruck. Fullarton and Kentfield ain't!
  13. Someone needs to explain to me why we would overlook Jack Bell who is under our nose to go out and recruit Fullarton and Kentfield? Better ruck than both and showed today he is capable of kicking goals in ordinary conditions. At 23 year of age its got me beat!
  14. Thank you🙏Very poor reporting by Josh Barnes given the article is about players contracts!
  15. Reported as such through numerous media outlets. Just not sure if it has been extended. Can anyone confirm or otherwise?Hunter is completely cooked. His troublesome calf seemingly beyond repair. Gave us a good 2023 but is now a list clogger. Really hoping his contract expires this season.
  16. He has another year on his contract.
  17. Pretty sure that Hunter's contract expires at the end of this season. If we have extended him by another year it's sheer madness. Have I missed something? The original contract definitely expires at the end of 2024.
  18. Petty and a decent pick for Thilthorpe? Am I dreaming?
  19. Unfortunately he does have a two year contract. In the unlikely event he does play he will be monstered by Darcy and Jackson. His ruckwork against Bryan and co. last week was nothing short of embarrassing.
  20. We didn't have to go to Perth. The rule dictating the higher placed team got home ground advantage was not in place back then. I remember it vividly. The AFL hadn't made up its mind until late on the Monday preceding the game. Of course we we're screwed. Having said that, I'm not sure the squad of '94 was quite ready. A lot of young superstars emerging. Can't agree that it was wasted. It's the subsequent years that fate totally conspired against us. It was a footballing tragedy.
  21. '94 may not have been wasted but the subsequent years certainly were. Not sure wasted is the correct term. If not for a plethora of long term injuries to a multitude of stars I feel confident this group could have won a couple of flags. Yep, 2021 was great but personally I would much preferred to have witnessed 3 premierships in my life as opposed to one.
  22. The final series in '94 was ok. We made the preliminary and the AFL in its discretionary basis sent us to play the Eagles in Perth. The decision was made the Monday before. Unbelievable. The real tragedy though was the events prior and leading into the 1995 season. This was a team with a blend of youth and experience that could have formed a dynasty but career destroying injuries ruined all of that. Schwarz did his knee, Tingay (a superstar) fell through a pane of glass and severed his hamstring. Lyon's back was a mess. Paul Prymke similar. Glenn Lovett, having finished 7th in the Brownlow, had his career destroyed by multiple hamstring injuries. Sean Charles hand was badly hurt and he was never the same. Jakovich injured during the season. Martin Pike left the club. No doubt I'm missing some. The era was ruined. It still irks me to this day.
  23. Most talented Demon ever! Talent was largely untapped. For the effort given he was simply sensational. With any dedication and fitness he could have been one of the greatest AFL players. I was fortunate enough to witness most of his games.
  24. My understanding is that Tomlinson is on around $450-$500k? Also Joel Smith will be gone. Perhaps $350-$400k. Josh Schache $250-$300k.
  25. Petty was way more effective than you're giving him credit for. He provided a decent physical presence. Fullarton was absolutely monstered in virtually every ruck contest. Bryan brushed him off like a twig. Even the Bombers back up ruck completely outbodied him.Hate to think what might have happened against Draper & co. 20 disposals. Well done. Doesn't really help our cause. Forward craft is negligible. A ruckman he ain't.
