  1. Seems like we will take whoever is left, out of the initial talented group (with our first pick). Should be interesting to see how it plays out. You would suspect we will end up with one of Sanders or Watson, or even with Curtin as a smokey.
  2. Have been hoping we would draft Watson all along, believing we were never really going to get Reid. He would be great to watch, and would have instant impact round goals.
  3. North too, ffs
  4. I think we should find out about the compo pick tomorrow
  5. Thanks for that. Does anyone have the Herald Sun article?
  6. Would be a great get. Would def. fit our needs.
  7. Sounding like weโ€™re adding a ruck & pick 10 so far
  8. The other day on a podcast Cal said if the Dogs get pick 4, then us & North are a chance to go after GC pick 10
  9. Where picks being pushed back hurts us, is their points value gets worse, if we are trying to trade for pick 4, for example
  10. Also apparently it was Tom Morris who said this, not Riley. Also, one again, the following quote wasn' mine but from DL: The AFL also gave North the right to an additional two rookies on the list - a measure aimed at allowing the club to keep younger players while bringing in more mature talent. Sources familiar with the AFLโ€™s draft assistance package for the Kangaroos said the future picks had to be used in trades this year or they would cease to exist. North Melbourne have not had the problem of key players leaving the club.
  11. It wasn't me posting this, but was DL: Riley Beveridge reporting on SEN Crunch Time that the AFL are going to recommend an assistance package to North Melbourne of: - End of first round pick in 2023 - End of first round pick in 2024 - End of second round pick in 2024 - No priority access to Riley Sanders ** Pick 3 compensation for McKay is a separate issue. Will โ€œlikely happenโ€ but wonโ€™t have anything to do with assistance package.
  12. Apparently they are no longer going to get pick 11, which is good news for us
  13. Initially I thought they were going to get 3, 11 and Sanders. Then I thought they were going to get 3 and 11. So I think this is a pretty good result for us, all things equal. We can draft Sanders if we want (if he's not gone already), and that pick 11 won't come before our natural first rounder.

In a recent podcast, Cal pretty much said North won't get special access to him. Good news for us, another good player to potentially draft with our first pick.
  15. If this is true, I bet the afl just give them pick 3 anyway
  16. I missed this, in an article by Cal Twomey, 4 days ago: " Sanders, who has an Indigenous background, is yet to be added to the AFL's Next Generation Academy list. Under NGA rules, clubs can't match bids on prospects inside the first 40 picks of the draft, but there has been a view that the Roos could be given access to match a bid at any point for Sanders as part of their assistance package. However, with just over a week to go before the AFL Commission meets, there is a growing feel among rivals that Sanders, a certain top-10 pick, will more likely be in the open pool. " Hopefully this happens, as it would be good news for us, as he may end up being the one we draft with our first pick.
  17. Can understand that he's leaving for more game time. Can't hold that against him
  18. Does the Roos getting pick 11 mean they donโ€™t get additional access to Ryley Sanders?
  19. There is an article titled โ€œAllen? McKay? Lord? Where Dees could spend $2m war chestโ€ in the Herald Sun. Could anyone give a summary?
  20. R.I.P. Ron, a true legend of the Mfc
  21. Not looking great, with North probably getting 2 early picks before us, and getting access to Sanders (letโ€™s hope not). Also Suns pick before us up for grabs. Can only hope we get it!
  22. Is it realistic that we get 11 from Sydney?
  23. F@&k..what a waste. Now on to find a key forward and new forward coach (and hope that helps!)
