At first I was against this, but over time I’m warming to the idea. I’ll happily leave it in the hands of JT and TL.
-
According to Cal T. : ”Unless Roos come with a last huge offer, Eagles set to hold at 1. Could dangle a future first if Dan Curtin is still on the board”. Wonder if he is talking about the Dees.

Can anyone summarise? https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/draft-intel-all-the-latest-afl-draft-news-from-around-australia/news-story/dbe62c86f47bdf26bf13ae7105fa3723?amp

Speaking of Caddy, here is an interview, including highlights, on Gettable, from about 5.30 in.. https://www.afl.com.au/video/1036516/gettable-caddy-rises-dons-look-to-sign-star-blue-to-move-another-crow-to-go?videoId=1036516&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1695176147001

West Coast Eagles almost certain to retain No.1 pick.. https://thewest.com.au/sport/afl-draft/afl-draft-2023-west-coast-eagles-almost-certain-to-retain-no1-pick-take-top-prospect-harley-reid-c-12494635

I forgot about that, I was happy to get him in with that next pick, at the time.
-
Maybe, as Cal T. has been calling Windsor the "bolter", not Leake.
-
Are you saying we would pick Caddy over Curtin? Cal had us taking Curtin if he's still available at pick 6. I doubt Caddy would have been taken before pick 6, although Cal did later link Caddy to the Dees.
-
I doubt it. Sheehan is very inaccurate in these drafts each year.
-
True, that’s why they won’t draft Curtin
-
Do you think that Caddy could play year 1?
-
Leaving us with Curtin, out of that top "tier"? We do have interest in Curtin (and the Dogs don't), at pick 6, according to Cal T.
-
In nearly every draft I read, Sanders has slipped to our pick. Surely we take him if available, he couldn’t have done much more this year. That is assuming all of the other players in that top “tier” have already been picked.
-
True, but if the Hawks take Watson, it sounds like the Dogs won’t take Curtin & he will get to us.
-
Mind you, last week Cal also said that he didn’t think the Dees would trade out pick 6 either.
-
Might be something to this, Cal T. just linked us to Curtin and Caddy.
-
I never count on Sheehan to be realistic in terms of who goes where. Plus it wasn’t a Phantom Draft, just a mock draft based on needs, not on who actually goes where. After the mock draft finished, Cal linked us to both Curtin & Caddy, which is interesting.
-
Curtin’s manager said he has talked to the Dees, and that they said they would take him at 6, if he’s still there. Skip ahead to about 10.30 in. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2023/11/07/a-generational-talent-managers-massive-spruik-on-wa-prospect-and-his-message/

Bold three-way plan could unlock tricky Pick 1 deal as ‘disrespectful’ claim stuns: Draft Talking Pts https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/draft/afl-draft-2023-burning-questions-pick-1-trade-west-coast-eagles-north-melbourne-kangaroos-melbourne-demons-harley-reid-tasmania-players-sleepers-is-it-shallow-latest-news/news-story/8972de27ada0d50cc2477d2ea656fad9

As fun as it would be to death ride WC, I don’t think there is any chance we would trade out pick 6. I think we would be more likely to trade up somehow, with this years picks, and potentially any future picks.
-
Can’t trade players though. You can only do that in the trade period.

Yeah it’s good this time of year though. Best source of accurate information about the draft. -

Cal T. said you start to find out more about who’s taking who, around Cup day.
