2024 Phantom Drafts
Langford & Smillie thanks, starting at the 2029 Grand Final centre bounce alongside Windsor. Toughness, height and speed.

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
Soooo...... If Petty and Turner are forwards...... And May gets injured next year...... Who plays on big forwards? Tomo was far from perfect but sometimes you just need a body to temporarily fill a role. And we've shown no interest in Denver Granger-Barras or any other defenders?

Nathan Krueger - Delisted
Not sure about picking up a player who is always injured as a depth replacement for injuries. He has definitely shown talent but can't stay on the park. Rookie list option at the most.

Strong Club Kudos
Feels a bit like the kid at school who finally gets a C instead of an F

Farewell Adam Tomlinson
Issue I see with Tauru - and lots of other defenders in mock drafts - is they're all rated as intercept defenders. 'Third man' types. We don't need another Lever, we need a replacement for May, both as injury cover next year and long term replacement.

October 16 is Dee Day!
Hoping we acquire a pick for Tomlinson departing, either this year or next year. The cupboard is bare and i'd really like us to draft a tall defender to grow at Casey for a few years.
-
Dan Houston
Hoping Collingwood get desperate now and do something silly to get 13 from Gold Coast, then trade their F1 too.
-
Dan Houston
Collingwood massive losers in that. Sure it gets them one step closer next year but they're really giving up depth and the future.

Coaching Role for Jonesy?
Never ever thought Jones was coaching material but happy to be proven otherwise. Interesting that our culture fell apart after he left though.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
I am not as stoked about this as we were before. If we trade pick 49 for Sharp, we are left with pick 5 and 9 and nothing else. Surely we still need to build for the future, especially key position depth (defendrs), by drafting in later rounds. We won't be able to do that now? Unless something is coming back for Tomlinson.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Hope that Derksen is still on the cards too. Both of them could wind up failures like Fullarton, but at least it'd be positive to get in some players that are young but not 18yo.

Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp
Sure we have Langdon and Windsor already but there's no guarantee they'll be fit for all 23 games. You need depth at every position. Many bemoaned the loss of Jordon and Harmes, it's about time we recovered some depth. He's still young but has 4 years in the system so physically he should be ready to play AFL footy, if not, at least he improves Casey. Victorian too so who knows if being back home might help.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I'm interested in any defenders we can take with our second, third or fourth round picks. Having read some phantom drafts there seems be some good tall defenders but more the intercepting type. I'm thinking more about the strgoner 1 on 1 defenders to groom as a replacement for May.

Things are "a bit of a mess" according to Shane Woewodin
Two ways to look at this: - Fair. It's the truth, and truth hurts sometimes. or - We get it. Joining the pile-on isn't helpful. Not sure which I agree with more. Probably the first one, and I'll feel that way until Pert is gone.

The Draft Pick Upgrade Thread
Twomey reporting that 10 and 18 are going to Richmond for Bolton. Means the trade with Freo is likely off. I hope Richmond might be opening to taking our F1 for 10. They can still draft loads of kids this year while having flexibility for whatever opens up next year. We might need to throw in a sweetener but i'd prefer to get quality kids in now and back ourselves for a better year in 2025.

Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Unbelievably good player and I back him to return to his best. I just hope our new forwards coach drills into him even a small improvement to his defensive work.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Bye ANB. I look forward to watching you turn it over at the Crows next year (while convenently ignoring all the great things you do).

I would rate Lever and May above any player being traded this year, Houston included. Langdon, Melksham and Hibberd are up there with any of the other players who have already moved or are talking about moving in trade or free agency this year. My point being that the available players this year are pretty poor. Perryman, Cumming etc, nice to have but nothing amazing. We were never a chance at the WA returners so they are ignored from the discussion. While we're not getting much, we're not missing out on much.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Sam Taylor was drafted at pick 28 in 2017. Neal-Bullen himself was pick 40. Weirdly, pick 40 has a strong history. Average of 92.5 games played, the next pick with a higher average is pick 19. Some absolute stars: Matthew Lappin Michael O'Loughlin Ablett Jnr Jobe Watson Josh Kennedy (Haw/Syd) Luke Parker Tom Stewart Plus others like Allen Christensen, Mitch Robinson, Chris Mayne, David Hille and Ivan Maric. Anyway. When is this trade going to happen? I don't get why they don't just pull the trigger from the moment the trade period starts, get things rolling...

Oliver Trade Rumours
Unfortunately I could see us losing to Collingwood again which sets off all the emotions of "here we go again". I think the AFL will go after another Round 1 attendance record and putting Hawks vs. Pies on a Friday night would be a good start. After all this trade [censored], Melbourne vs. Geelong at the MCG, Saturday 2.10, is what i'd like to see.

Wade Derksen
Every year there are fringe player swho wants to leave, but the clubs who hold them label them as a "required player". They always end up being traded, often on the last day and for late picks. It'll get done.

MFC 2024 BEST & FAIREST NIGHT
Can't watch this. Consider what he meant and the current state of the club... sad and angry all at once.
