GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Jason Taylor has a clear draft weakness... key forwards. Weideman, JVR, Jefferson all drafted under his watch.

GAMEDAY: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Jefferson looks like a 16 year old at the local club playing in the mens seniors. Zero confidence, presence or physicality in anything he does.

NON-MFC: Round 19
Port now below us on percentage, with Adelaide to come next week. Win tonight and next week and there's a fair chance we jump to 11th. Port and Carlton have tough runs home, so we could keep it. Nothing in it for us other than pride and ruining Essendon's pick.

NON-MFC: Round 19
I wish JVR or Jefferson played like Morris. I also hope Tholstrup can start playing like Lohmann.

Can we talk about Kolt?
Under Roos' drafts (2013-2015) we drafted five premiership players: Salem, Petracca, Brayshaw, Oliver and ANB. Four of those five were with picks inside the top 8. Petracca and Brayshaw were obvious picks 2 and 3 in that draft. Weideman was a notable bust during this time. Under Goodwin (2016-2020) we drafted 9 premiership players: Spargo, Fritsch, Petty, Sparrow, Jordon, Jackson, Pickett, Rivers, Bowey. Only two of them were in the first round. There wasn't a single draft bust in this time. If coaches are involved, I would argue that drafting under Goodwin was better - we got a lot of fantastic players with picks in the 20s and 30s. Goodwin also had less to work with in the draft, as we used three first round picks in trades for Lever and May.

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Nailed it. Tholstrup is lucky to survive, and i'd be open to giving Lindsay a game at Casey or just a week off, but there's no-one at VFL level pushing for replacement of either player.

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Like any trauma, nothing will ever heal what happened in the 2023 semi final. But a win next weekend, kicking Carlton while they're down, would certainly help put a smile on my face.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Think Lindsay is tiring after limited pre-season, might need a spell - not just in the VFL but a week off full stop.

Can we talk about Kolt?
Don't understand what's going on when he was sold as a high energy player. Shows none of that on the field. Is it all above the shoulders? Time on his side but so far not great.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
If Tmac plays every game he finishes on 249 games. Shame.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
I am willing to admit, after the first ten minutes I was ready to end his career today. Credit to him, fought through and showed a bit. Something to work with there. Happy with his game. Unfortunately we have some serious issues with our 2023 draft picks. Windsor and Tholstrup are struggling massively. Tholstrup no physicality and jogging his way around the game, while Windsor had one touch in a half of footy. Caleb needs a full game next week for Sparrow.

Lever is so bad

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
What happened to Tholstrup and being physical? Looks scared on contact. Lucky that Lindsay was having a poor game too otherwise he would've been subbed out.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Fritsch has been a positive today. Working up the ground and applying good pressure.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Drop Lever. He left Darling alone to support McDonald but didn't even support him. Awful awful defending.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
We're so bad. Langford's ball use is atrocious.

GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
It is incredibly gusty in St Kilda. Forecast suggests it'll hang around until the game starts. Would hate to be playing local footy today. Thankfully rain looks unlikely until after we're done. North will come in sniffing a win today. I hope we fight fire with fire, we have mature bodies and need to be on it early.

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Werribee
Re. Hardie, at 27yo, with 18 months with the Cats and a preseason with Melbourne, I think there must be something in his game that just won't translate to AFL. A shame for him, I feel sorry for the types that can never quite crack it above state level. It must be challenging. I do agree that Henderson seems to be a mistake but I'm not sure Hardie would've played much more for us. If we wanted to bring in mature midfielders next year I'd be going after someone like Dev Robertson.

Time to go Goody?
Why do people say this like winning flags is easy. It drives me nuts. How many have Brisbane won recently despite being a top team for years? 1. How many have Geelong won recently despite being a top team most years? 1. How many times has Sydney won from their last 5 times playing in that the GF? 0. How did Collingwood go after winning in 2023? Didn't make finals.

Trade Targets
Current picks are 23, 53, 59. One or two of these will need to go for Kalani White. We hold all of our future picks, but only our 2026 holds any potential value. The 2027 draft will be destroyed by Tasmania. Struggling to see how we get any deals done for players unless we lose a few. Would Gold Coast take a punt on Oliver, swap for Flanders?

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Larkey missed training with knee complaint, fair chance he misses the game.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Weather looks shocking. Raining and windy. If anything I'd be looking to remove Jefferson for a smaller player.

State of Origin
I couldn't care less about Victoria. I only care about players who represent the red and blue. What does it even achieve? A few hours of entertainment during the season. Then back to the proper AFL season... The All-Star games in NFL and NBA have become a joke. The NRL is one of the few surviving leagues to have a strong all-star or stage-of-origin game, but they have a consistent legacy and only two states competing, hence a massive rivalry.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
How is Oliver just jogging around barely a minute into the third quarter?
