An improvement in draft position, however small, would be nice, if possible

GD, it is so easy to be a perpetual cynic. Best to ignore them, they soak up all the positive and then claim credit. effem
Thanks for your input.

Dale Morris was BOG for me. Some of his work down back was absolutely outstanding.

Definitely yet to hit his best footy. Can you imagine when Tyson, Viney, Brayshaw, Stretch, Petracca etc are around the 25-27 mark?
Now that gets me extremely excited.
Me too, though I distinctly remember thinking the same thing once re Sylvia, McLean, Morton, Gysberts, Scully, Trengove, Tapscott, Strauss et al... *facepalm*
Hopefully we got it right this time around. Signs are good!

How does trading contracted players work?
If we traded for him, and agreed to pay him say $400k per season, would Port have to pick up the remaining $300k to fufill Hartlett's contract?
-
The captain has spent almost all of the warm up running around with the defensive group. Mids on other side of the field.

Thanks for the help M_9 & Watts2Hogan. Appreciate it.

You have masochist tendencies JTR?
I bought the ticket before the Carlton game.... :-/
That said, I still not regret going down last year when I had the chance, so I dont miss any games any more if I can help it. Plus its the last game of season, the last outing for Roos.. etc
Whats the worst the could happen?
(no need to answer that)

I am driving down Geelong for the game on the weekend. It will be my first time there for a game.
Can any of you seasoned vets give me some tips on the car parking situation?
Street parking, parking lots, ground parking...etc
Happy to walk 10-15 mins if there are cheaper and more readily available options further away from ground.

Loudest bronx cheer I have ever heard when we got our first free.
To be honest up until half time I didn't even realise there was such a differential. Certainly didn't seem so obvious when watching the game.
Naturally after half time I paid more attention and was expecting the predictable square up, but it never came... :-/

All the naysayers will come out of the woodwork to say I told you so?

Yeah I got one of those $29 seats also, which was a bargain considering the same seat was $49 last year.
The local rabble aren't too bad down there, as long as you're not in the standing room area. I was sitting next to a young family last year, all of whom were watching their iPads all day and didn't give a snot about the game.
Pretty sure I'm in the seating section directly infront of the standing room area. Maybe I should take a raincoat incase a few errant beers are sent in my direction?

Scary place JRT. If we win and you are wearing red n blue, make sure to carry a bunch of coins you can throw in the air to distract the rabble whilst you run out. Also, park the Merc at least a 30 min walk from the ground, unless you like key scratches. Good luck!
Haha, thanks for the advice! My
Merclittle Pulsar has enough scratches on it as it is, so if we get a win I'll cop that!- 1

How has everyone gone trying to get a ticket. I was going to go but the only tickets I could find was seats which are individual ones I must say and the cheapest was $55.
I was happy to buy a $29 ticket to stand but they have all gone. So now I'm not going. Hopefully now we are on the improved we won't have to go back down there.
Got myself a ticket as soon as they went on sale to general public (last Thursday @ 9am).
There was bugger all available even then. I ended up getting one of the last 50 or so $29 seats.
Never been down there for a game and going on my own so I will assess the local rabble in my seating area before cracking out the Demons gear!

Lets worry about getting past Carlton first.
We should smash them but I am not yet at the point where I can trust our lads to do what they should

Isn't Fyfe an unrestricted free agent? Or did I hear wrong on SEN this monring?
-
For what its worth...
Some random who said he has inside sources at the pies just called SEN and claimed magpies talking to Jesse. Something going on between Jesse/coaches... etc

Disclaimer: I don't pay a lot of attention to opposition players so following may be inaccurate.
Re Hibberd, isn't he the one that can only play off his left and has basically no right side?
If so, can we carry another such player seeing as we already have a couple like that?
-
His running is excellent. Many times when I have been watching him at games he is always busting his gut sprinting into space to give his teammates an option. Many times (ala Watts), the effort is not rewarded.
I also have noticed that this season in particular he has an excellent long handball. Maybe he has always had it but I haven't picked it up till now.
Really hope he goes well and can prove some of the doubters wrong.
It is frustrating to see him play a really good game, then see his name automatically appear in the "outs for next week" as if by default.
