I think the biggest indicator of what Kozzie was trying to do can be found by looking at his expression as he goes falling over Moore. Don’t forget, Moore is, by this stage, slightly behind him. He can’t watch the ball and Moore at the same time. His mouth is suddenly open in a WTF just happened expression, and his arms fly out to stop him hitting the ground. Everything was fine until Moore decided to drop his knees and slide in several metres from the ball.

Should appeal. But there again, I thought it should have been Kozzie’s free for Moore taking his legs. At the very least, Kozzie could have no idea that Moore would be going to ground so far from the ball. He is not a mind reader. They probably won’t appeal.

Pretty sure that was caused by the forward (JVR??) deciding to double back towards the pocket, just as Laurie committed to the kick. Forwards would usually lead at the ball carrier As someone else said, difficult to know what your forwards are going to do if you only get half a game at a time.

Poor bugger really needs some consecutive games.

As I’ve said before, Max has earnt the right to decide. Can’t see anyone wanting to retire him anytime soon. And besides, another couple of extensions and George will be able to take over. Problem solved.

I know what you mean but the boundaries have shifted. It’s the same as saying about a sling, tackle, ”I didn’t tackle him high. He hit his head on the ground.” These days that sort of contact causing a concussion just cannot be classified as unforeseen.

One of my favourite pieces of play yesterday was Petty’s mark for the first goal of Q2. Petty out bodied Collins, while Disco had body on Ballard. Bit of a shame Clohesy was allowed to come in but Billings was correctly on the defensive side. Lucky he wasn’t any bigger. Too many times over the past 3 years marking forwards have been left to compete with 3 defenders or more. Forwards need to be as much or more accountable than defenders. Looking forward to seeing the results of another preseason.

Better Keane than Butts. Butts is ok but the Irishman could be anything if he learns to control his aggression.
