The other side is that they will only be able to afford the $1.2M-$1.7M pa IF they let a similar amount walk. It’s not small change. Quite happy if he wants to go to the wobbles or blues for a younger potentially great player AND a first round pick. Half of the best players in each of these sides will be retired in the next 2 years. Wobbles do not have an equivalent player that’s not a Daicos…or a pensioner. Blues have Curnow/Weitering/Walsh. McCreery/Allan or TDK would need to come with a +R1pick as they are not on the same level and may never be.

Unfortunate for both of these boys. Schache just couldn’t take his chances and wasn’t the aggressive beast that Goodwin wanted. KFW probably needed another 3 years to develop his skills and get physically stronger. He’ll need to workout whether to stick with it or return to basketball.

Am I the only one who thinks that Collingwood and Carlton are falling off a cliff soon? Seems like their stars are mostly ageing, without a lot of quality coming through. Strangely enough, the tiges might be closer to their next premiership than the other three ‘big’ clubs. Unless we give them tracc for 2-3 high draft picks? And what’s the deal with him wanting to go to the pies? Sounds like some sort of weird Stockholm syndrome. Maybe TDK/Curnow and a first round pick?
