  1. Sources say that when they were up, they were up.
  2. Historically the private school system in SA does not have the depth of talent to sufficiently develop the talent they collect. The competition pretends to be like the APS, but there are only 1-3 potential AFL players in each side. The focus is always on winning the premiership, which is only really a possibility for 2–3 teams each year. The good players stand out but are never really tested. The SANFL u18– league pathway is probably better, but players from the private schools are only available to their SANFL sides during school breaks and end of season. There is too much competition between the two systems where they should be cooperating.
  3. Et tu, Deano?
  4. Probably just what they heard this morning. So many ways for them to find and hear music these days… I better stop before I sound too old.
  5. Interesting hypothetical. Clubs are getting very good at trading out their early pics for bags of rubble in the 40s, 50s and 60s. Just look at what GC did last year. If you still have some draft capital left after the bids, you can trade back in just after where you left. Lots of variables around this one. It’s possible that if Andrew was tied to us, he would’ve dropped further down the picks and not cost so much in late pics. The simplest way we could have made a play to get back into the 2020 draft after matching and picking up Andrew is by trading 2 of our 2021 pics. Pretty unlikely we would’ve done that as it (pick 19) would’ve cost the picks used on Jeffo and Adams. We should revisit this in 10–15 years and compare possibilities. Andrew may have a stellar career. But our picks from the 2021 draft may be CHF and CHB of our next dynasty.
  6. Chin looks like he’s getting ready for preseason on Devils Island.
  7. One Sparrow does not a summer make…
  8. There is no substitute for speed, especially combined with clean hands and elite decision making. Can’t see Crows being brain dead enough to let him slide.
  9. Just what he’s been saying in any interviews - training hard, disappointed with last year, going to get MFC back up the ladder. Seems very focused and more serious than usual.
  10. Everything I’ve heard from Clayton makes me think he’s going to have a break out year. What that means for a 3xAA I’m not sure. Might put a couple of $ on him for Chas.
  11. Yeah but they’re not real journos - they are the kind that the joke about the nun buying a donkey ridicule. The one with the final punchline in the paper, “nun sells [censored] for $10”.
  12. Freo WC and GC being molested - lucky if any of those players were worth 1 first round pick, let alone 2 for each of them.
  13. Kane Cornes is a [censored] clown. i’ve always known it, but hearing him this morning, I thought my head was going to explode. First of all, he is shocked that Port would trade Houston for 13 and a pile of rubble. Then he was shocked that the deal was never agreed to by Port. Next, he can’t believe that Gold Coast were giving Richmond 6 and 23 for Rioli. Then he is shocked that GC said 23 was never on the table. FFS You dumb [censored]! Can’t you realise yet that Morris, Barrett and the other doofuses just sit around making [censored] up? Yet, he does the same thing by insisting the Dees trade Oliver and Trac (multiple AAs) in some kind of fire sale. He must have [censored] for brains.
  14. Yes. They need to stop behaving like [censored] holes. Everyone has an obligation to hold people to account for their [censored]-wittery. I don’t care if they are trying to get some sort of Dodoro perpetual trophy for the most [censored] behaviour - make it an absolute nightmare for all managers to deal with them. Wouldn’t surprise me if they routinely drove on the wrong side of the road.
  15. Is there a position available for ground manager at Casey that pays well? Might at least allow him and the family to relocate.
  16. If the team at Sleepy Hollow had Derksen they would be requesting pick 5 plus a future first rounder. They are in danger of becoming the new Essendon.
  17. try again Maybe we could make a play for…..Rowan Marshall? He should know by now success is not coming to that club.
  18. Finger on the pulse mate 👍
  19. Unfortunately, saw that one. Should have been on Dash Cam Aust His weird way was getting weirder.
  20. Great player and should be a good coach. Not sure why we’re talking about Roos, but bringing maximum effort is obviously a non-negotiable - which we did not do this year. Not turning the ball over is another. If we can do those 2 things, we’ll get somewhere.
  21. Fort has been very good for several years. Would probably be starting ruck in most clubs. Brodie didn’t play that badly. Swan’s midfield stars did not show up.
  22. I thought that they were 2 lockdown backs, and 2 quality forwards short this year. When sides had midfield dominance against them, they showed up big problems. Brisbane’s forwards are very good.
