Watched the replay this arvo. There weren’t too many missing for the Tigers. We had more players wanting to apply pressure than they did. When we won the ball, apart from a few times, we shared it with our teammates. It was a bit like the AFL side last week. It was far from perfect, but the more they shared it the more potent it looked. It would be nice to see a repeat effort tonight.

Missed the last quarter yesterday and just now watched the full replay. As I already said Roo probably needed to follow one of their key forwards around after halftime. Most of the problem is the same as our AFL side had up until yesterday – they are not giving the handball to players running past. Trying to do it all themselves is inviting pressure, which makes it harder to get it out to players who are now stationary. Thought Verrall broke even in the ruck against one of the bigger bodies in the AFL. Madden did not get many taps to advantage – probably less than Verrall who also missed out on several frees – blatant pushes in the back etc. – as the umpires have no idea on ruck contests.

Key forward is not an easy place to play. After the first half, when he didn’t look like getting near the ball, I would’ve put him on Guruzewski. Just to play back shoulder and have him lead you to the ball a couple of times. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

It’s pretty close. But I think Hawthorn still has that covered – their ridiculous Power Rangers top, and maybe even the Harlequin one as runner-up.

Seems to be the way things are going. Just need to be linked to other sides/go Home factor, be in the middle of contract negotiations, and then have one or two “breakout” games.

I still think the main problem with both teams is they refuse to give a first give handball to somebody running past, and instead run themselves into trouble and dump kick or hand pass to someone’s feet, or the opposition.
