NON-MFC: Round 11
No way in a million years would they change the shape of that ground.

NON-MFC: Round 11
The litter box isn’t quite so [censored] this year as it was last year.

On this day in 2018
Yes that was a fun season – I can’t recall those Carlton players either, but I think they were from their foreign legion days, when they thought it was a good idea to recruit exGWS players and ended up with a GWS seconds side 😂

THE LAST TIME THEY MET
I’ve already mentioned Bowser, but I thought we were 1st to the ball for most of the game but were undone by the [censored] conditions – a bit like most of the games in the northern states “opening round“ this year. When nobody can pick up the ball, it just degenerates into a farce. While I’m here, I also think that the SCG should be made to make some sort of recompense for their effort (or lack of) getting the ground ready for a match 3 weeks after some bloody concert. If they can’t get the ground ready in time, they can transfer it to another ground or forfeit. Stuff them!

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
The previous night on channel 9, Hird was saying that he moved him from the wing down forward and Melky was a much better player now. Sounded a bit like he was taking credit for Melky‘s growth as a player? Among the many advancements of Western civilisation to which we owe JH? I await the book.

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
I think Viney will go to Heeney. He may not be a good match in the air, but he will give him pressure all over the ground. Heeney is more damaging when he goes forward and needs someone with a more defensive mindset than Clarry, who will probably go to Warner. Spargo and Sharp are not receiving much love here, but I wonder if their pressure in the forward line was instrumental in Brisbane not kicking their way through? Selection pressure is good

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
I was thinking the same, but then there is no coverage to give Max a rest. So I think AJ will probably retain his spot. It was a nice goal – who said the soccer training was a waste of time?

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Glad that he got some reward for his effort – just happy he didn’t have to pick the ball up.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Great intensity in that final quarter. Once we had control of the ball and scored a few times, there was a great well of BELIEF. The guys also shared the ball much better this week. It’s great to see handball chains coming out of the middle and from half back rather than blind dump kicks. It’s what’s been lacking in the past couple of weeks – just need to share the ball rather than try to win it all by themselves.

Watching it again, now! Who’s with me?

NON-MFC: Round 10
I love the fact that there is absolutely no reference to the tigers v kangaroos game today. Didn’t give it much of a thought myself either.

Good idea, GW! I think this could be revolutionary in cheer squads. The use of the INTERCHANGE! We need you to be fresh at 3/4 time, and bring them home with a big last quarter. Maybe give the players a bit of your Red Bull at 3/4 time as well. Are they allowed to have Red Bull? Hope you all have a great day.👍

CASEY: Rd 08 vs Southport
I think his pace is alright. He’s fast enough to catch players HTB. Goes okay with linking hand balls and kicks. Looks like he has been told to kick 35–45m but should be encouraged to boot it 60m diagonally across the ground. Would be very hard to defend if he was used correctly.

NON-MFC: Round 10
Truth in advertising, eh? “This game promises to be a bit [censored]”

CASEY: Rd 08 vs Southport
To be honest, I think that our players haven’t been given all the tools for every possibility. In the first half, they looked good running from the back and through the outside. The only issue was the kicking for goal. In the second half, the players tried to do the same thing, but the Southport players were made aware. It’s like they were only given a screwdriver which worked for all the screws in the first half. Unfortunately they also needed a hammer, and perhaps some spanners in the second half.

Not much opposition to be fair.

CASEY: Rd 08 vs Southport
Are you [censored] serious? Every [censored] time Campbell got the ball, it was a guaranteed sharks disposal, if not goal. He stayed in the ruck far too long, took the ball out of the contest and gave it to the opposition so many times I almost threw up. And crossing the ball to the other side is meant to be done at speed, not with dinky little 15 meter kicks that get spoilt and cut off for a goal. I thought at least Verrall was clean with his hands, found his targets, and pushed the other rucks out of the way. Pity he was only in there for about 10 minutes. We had too many players thinking that they were too good for this level today. Trying to run through 3 tackles, or hand balling over their head or while they are diving. The amount of times that players handballed to a running player, only to put them under immediate pressure, was ridiculous. Southport obviously had been made aware at half time, but we could not stop doing it🤪. Ollie Sestan was perhaps the only decent player for 4/4.

CASEY: Rd 08 vs Southport
Noted today that VFL Sydney V Carlton was played at 3:05 pm, at the SCG before the main game. Obviously the Gabba surface cannot handle 2 games in a row. Or it’s just us?

NON-MFC: Round 09
How long is it going to be before the draw gets overruled on Expected score? 😱
