  1. I’m sure Goody’s implementation will be better than Mao, with less starvation of the forwards.
  2. Their gameplan would be more suited to Subiaco. And the surface of the new oval sucks. It’s worse than docklands and would be the worst in the league if not for Geelong.
  3. With all the new faces and restructuring I’m hoping for a Great Leap Forward.
  4. Another thought. Perhaps it would be better for his development if Adams was put on a half back flank, or wing? He almost won the grand final sprint last year, so he’s obviously pretty quick. And he has a decent boot. I just think that competing with Tomlinson, Turner, Hore, Howes and Schache, probably isn’t that great for his development.
  5. A little bit harsh, maybe? I thought he was one of the only defenders that tried to defend a player. The rest were basically accumulating intercept marks. Consequently, a lot of dolphin goals were over the back. He did run through one of their guys in the middle of the ground early in the third quarter. You don’t usually hear the sound of a hit that loud. Might have copped an injury then. Saw something different with Kentfield yesterday. One of their enforcers tried to rough him up after he fairly tackled a player. Not sure exactly (because of the rain) but I thought I saw him flip the guy over and connect with a few left and right crosses. All of a sudden the tough guy was trying to make peace. But, as I say, I couldn’t really be sure. Overall, I thought they played a good, tough brand of wet weather footy. Could’ve been a lot smarter with it though.
  6. Looked pretty miserable early, but then in the third quarter, it really got nasty. Had trouble seeing the players and the rain was coming in sideways. They turned on the lights, but it didn’t make a lot of difference. I remember a game in the 80s when we had to run undercover from the golf ball size hail and lightning. Both teams and umps did it simultaneously. Self-preservation.
  7. Yeah. Don’t need to worry about the drainage or over use. Just look at the stands. Aren’t they pretty? If the crows or weagles admin have any balls, they should demand the surface be improved or they can host the match. Geelong are relying on it being their right to host games but they can get stuffed or forfeit.
  8. Absolutely. But I like him more than last year. There’s always room for an annoying little [censored] that gets under the skin of the opposition. I don’t think we have one at present or they haven’t quite learned to channel their inner bastard.
  9. English? Can definitely play forward.
  10. Oh no. ‘Mara’s gonna have a “please explain” “Running out on a paddock” “Yeah, it was pretty dangerous out there”
  11. Nope. Cats gotta lose. Every game at that hole.
  12. Cumming could be a possibility - even better with Callaghan or Ash. Huston has been found wanting for pace - better to go for Bergman. Hobbs and Parish should be gettable. Maybe even Judith Durham? Nobody wants to stay around the stench coming from that place. WA players returning could be prioritised - they should know by now that the shocking surface at Opium Stadium is only going to damage their careers.
  13. ALL GROUNDS NEED TO BE SIGNED OFF BEFORE PLAY. What an absolute load of [censored]! Waiting and hoping some poor bastard doesn’t break a leg on that surface. No matter how many fancy stands they (state gov) build, it’s still geelong You can’t polish a 💩
  14. Replays!
  15. There was really no idea or strategy for playing in a wet and windy game. Should have put at least 1 player behind the ball in the 2nd quarter. Only a few players know how to pick up the ball in the wet. Midfielders mainly too small. Bell did well, but didn’t really get any control in the centre - I wouldn’t like to see him against Meek.
  16. Apparently he was yelling directions from the boundary. Must be Frank’s coach now?
  17. Always a dodgy strategy when you don’t score with the wind. Kicking as far as you can is also a bit over rated. Actually think that the umpires are better at this game than those from last night.
  18. Nice article. Thanks for sharing. I never look at contested ball, just hb gets. I always thought loose ball should be put with uncontested marks as they are almost the same thing except inviting pressure.
  19. There are no “best of times” for that team. Only “worst of times”. Did I just hear Brad Scott say, “ it is better to lose in one’s own way, than to win in somebody else’s”?
  20. Me too. Then I could hear the crom tune from another room. Might have to rewatch the heartbreak 😀. Brilliant. They [censored] the bed. Cleaned up. Then [censored] it some more. Stinky! Phew!
  21. Does that mean you think at least 1 of them will get 100? The way they’re kicking…
  22. They are a seriously frustrating team. And that’s up against some pretty strong opposition (at being soft - NOT calling bombres strong opposition, just to make that absolutely crystal clear) Their supporters must be stabbing themselves in the eyes.
  23. Crows, bombres - you can’t trust either of them. Absolutely no defending. Just wanted the bombres to lose, but those boys in yellow have other ideas. And so do the Crows by the looks of it.
  24. They’re just joining in the bombre [censored] the bed fest. I’m going to watch that 2nd qtr again.
  25. Wouldn’t mind seeing Woey, McAdam, or even Howes and Adams have a run through the midfield. Sometimes players need something out of the box to refresh them a bit. We could sorely use some size in the centre.
