50 year anniversary of their founding, claiming it is their final tour. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/jan/29/radio-birdman-australian-band-final-live-tour

A few months ago you would have penciled this in as a percentage booster for the Dees but alas not so now. How quickly things can change in season. Still think the Dees will get the win despite North having the capability to play some good footy at times. Tempted to pop into the MCG tonight, reckon it will be a good game but I have a ticket to see Radio Birdman play tonight so I would probably have to leave early ... better check the set times at the Croxton 😁

Jordan Russell https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/1492990 But I think having a few seasons of the same group together to build cohesion and Harry McKay sorting out his set shot kicking have been important factors. Jack Martin, Jessie Motlop and Matt Cottrell are still yet to come back to this foward line as well mind you. There may be a fight for spots coming up, good problem to have.

On the train home after a rather pleasant evening at the MCG watching Geelong pushed off a cliff 😁

However, the reverse of say 5.11 was a not uncommon scoring dynamic for the Blues in the last few seasons. Accuracy has definitely improved this season! The Blues have worked very hard on their forward set-up, collectively and individually. Simon Goodwin, take notes!

The Devil comes in many forms and one of them is in the form of Mick Malthouse! Lucifer incarnate had his tenure at Princes Park from 2012-2015! 😁 A bit of a nothing article from Mick, doubt he has any real insights in what is happening at Goschs Paddock/Casey, just wants to chime in on the topical Dees who are struggling right now and assorted media types are getting their kicks in whilst they are down. Please win the next few to shut them up.

Sporting history is littered with many examples of teams that were certainties to win something but still blew it. There is still two months of H&A football to play.
-
Shaping up that way, but I still have this niggling suspicion that they will freeze up on the big stage at the MCG in September ... 🤔

Shocking 50m to Brisbane 👎👎

LDU would be a good fit for the Dees if the price is right.

I would give him rest of the season to right the SS Demons. Its one thing to lose games and still be competitive but the Freo and Collongwood games were far from that. Has he lost some of the playing group? Yesterday, the only realy positives were Jacob van Rooyen, who may now be coming of age as a forward and ANB who did a real number on Nick Daicos, impressive effort. After Trac copped it in the ribs I knew there was very little hope the Dees could beat the Pies yesterday. -
The Filth are getable with quite a few outs. The Dees just need to get back to what they know, what they are good at and what made them a feared opponent for the rest of the league in the last 3-4 years. Someone needs to dust off the old Checker Hughes quote in the pre-game address to the players to "now lift your heads and start playing like Demons! 😈

They are a mid-table side with a relatively easy draw. That was my opinion of them before last night and even more after last night. Their "edge" isn't as sharp as they thought. Probably still make the 8 but doubt they will impact on the finals. Cincotta did a number on Merrett lasy night and pitched in with a couple of goals too. Reckon Zach woke up this morning to go to the bathroom and saw Alex Cincotta standing in the doorway with his hands up barking "No' and Zach slinked off back to bed ... unrelieved ... 😁

I was at the MCG last night, Harry is Ben, just they have different names in parallel universes! Worlds are colliding!* (Gratuitous Seinfeld reference) 😁 How about those those Baggers! ... Love doing over those juiced up pretenders from Tullamarine and watching them start to leave 4 minutes into the 4th quarter 💉😁

They were sold out earlier in the week (was hoping to snag one, I went last year and the Dees won, was an enjoyable afternoon).

Max is a 6 time AA ruckman and is turning 33 later this year. If Ned can't see the opportunities that can bring to a young, green ruckman then so be it. It isn't really analogous to the Grundy situation from last year.
-
I would. Has no choice really. Dees have to get back to basics, what they know and what their strengths are. C'Wood with their outs are definitely gettable!
-
Agree with all of that! Save to add that Carlton has been working on improving accuracy into f50 and turnover strategy (and playing around with different strategies arguably cost us some losses last year and maybe this year too but will hopefully help us evolve into a more balanced side). Carlton is a team that is still evolving. Just look at Patrick Cripps, in past years his delivery into f50 usually consisted of just bombing it it. Definitely more targeted now and his goal kicking has really improved too. Players like Jordan Boyd and Elijah Hollands have also improved the Blues in this aspect as well I say. Still need Sam Walsh to improve on his kicking efficiency into f50 🤞

I would be thrilled if the Blues could lure Harrison Petty to Parc de Princes. Could get a mid 20s Premiership defender relatively cheaply whilst his stocks are lower. He is not a foward (2 good games last year notwithstanding). Goodwin should stop trying to turn him into something he is not. The Blues tried that with Weitering playing forward some time ago, it didn't work. Not every defender is a forward in the making. Petty is coming off a difficult injury, has been brought back prematurely and is now lacking confidence and conditioning. I would be getting him back into defence.

It is shaping up as an ugly pasting, so disappointing. The Dees really need some drastic changes at HT. However, if there is one team that could blow it from here, it is Freo.

Windsor is definitely in with a shot now. -
Yes a tenant, a reliable long-term tenant which carries its own value for them.

Fisherman's Bend is slated for intensive high rise development, hosting training facilities there is very unlikely. Parkville is Carlton's turf, good luck with that. Caulfield is an option, a definite possibility and ticks many boxes, its why MFC are pushing for this. I can see it happening because it appears MRC want the Dees there.
