Part 12 - Jason Taylor - visionary or overrated - the conclusion

I can't believe it...
More like disinterested and, in my personal experience, look at them with contempt. This is the result of the travesty surrounding the Angus Brayshaw incident last year.

2024 List and Contract Details
I think we can at least divide them in 'tiers'. Tier 1 for bonafide superstars like Petracca, Oliver and Max Tier 2 for starting 22 type players like Viney, Langdon, Fritsch And so on. Just to have a rough idea of how much the club can spend during any given offseason.

2024 List and Contract Details
Is there any way we could include their salary? (Estimated of course) It would be an interesting exercise to know how much cap space we have.

Wildcard Weekend
As I said before, AFL House might as well annoinnt the teams they want playing finals every year.... Better not give them ideas.

Moving the magnets at QTR time 😜- Wildcard Weekend
We might as well let the AFL appoint the teams that should play finals no? This is purely a money grabbing strategy and it will diminish the quality of the H&A, and it will benefit only those with a favourable fixture.- Wildcard Weekend
Worst part is that Americans favour the show more than the actual sport. Money grabbing machines they are.- Dees 2001-2024 = West Coast (2005-2008)
Reality is that we should have at least won two of those 4 games. SF 2022 against Brisbane, we dominated the first half and wasted our opportunities. We should've been 5 goals up but we weren't, then we just faded away in the second half. SF 2023 against Carlton, similar to the above but with the added pain that all we needed was for Viney not to gift a turnover to Carlton in the last 30 seconds. Or McVee over committing to try to spoil the disposal and leaving heaps of space behind him. Those were more mental errors under duress.- Wildcard Weekend
AFL House really lives in a bubble, completely devoid of any contact with their supporter base.- Goodwin is the MAN!
Roller coaster, lots of ups and downs. The most damning points here: > Finish second last after making it to a PF > 2020 the huge preseason and promise to be better (does anyone remember the documentary the club released). We lost our finals chance by performing awfully against two bottom 6 teams, Freo and Sydney. Had we won just one of those games we could've played finals. Win both as we should've and top 5 position was all but certain. > Not being able to win even one final three years removed from the premiership, we lost all those games in a similar fashion. Great defence, not putting a score when commanding in those games, let the opposition come back in the last quarter.- Dees 2001-2024 = West Coast (2005-2008)
Put it simple... How would anyone rate our 0 - 4 finals record? All of those games played at the G btw.- Time to go Goody?
2022 we should've done the Lynch type move that Richmond did in 2018. I'll say it again, despite looking unlikely, we should've put a godfather offer in front of McKay.... Was Ben King available?- Time to go Goody?
Petty - need him back in his natural position to assess Petracca - definitely improved before injury Langdon - I wouldn't say improved but back to his 2021 level ANB - slight improvement Fritsch - keeps scoring lots of goals, skill wise he is consistent. His issue is more mental/effort I would agree with all others. Although some you don't need them to improve but just maintain the level (Max, Clarry, Viney, Lever).- Time to go Goody?
JVR strikes me as a loyal fellow and mature for his age, he already signed longer than what man child Jackson did.- Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement
- What was your excuse?
One thing I would like to acknowledge is that the Demon Army is second to none when it comes to cheer squads. As passionate and loud as any. And on top of that you guys always bring all the 'gear', even on most interstate games. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Kudos Demon Army.- Time to go Goody?
I agree with most of the above, but specifically on point 3. The fact that we have known, even after the flag, that we needed to strengthen our KPF position and nothing has happened is very damning. I was expecting us to make a godfather offer to one KPF in 2022, similar to what Richmond did after they won in 2017 with Lynch. Instead we have tried to transform defenders into forwards (Petty and Turner). Or hope that BBB would be healthy enough to play more than 15 games in a season. I think it is now too late and we just have to work with what we have. Develop JVR and Jeffo, maybe bring a veteran forward that doesn't cost much for a couple of years to help those two young guns. I am not convinced on spending a lot of money and potentially draft picks for Waterman. Actually, would Lynch make sense? Just as a mentor to our young guns not really expecting him to be our next premiership forward. That would just be a bonus.- Time to go Goody?
We might as well just default the season right? I am honestly tired of the injuries card we like to use when things are going bad, as if we were the only team that is impacted. Most teams will have interrupted preseasons, injuries and all sorts of trouble during the H&A, but champion teams find a way to overcome the adversity. We haven't.- Death Ride 2.0

Brisbane is now the favourite. If Fagan can't deliver it now, it will never be.- Time to go Goody?
If Sydney is losing 45-0, what is it going to be for us next week? 🫣- Time to go Goody?
One thing I am dumbfounded is all the talk, specially form senior players, after our losses and always saying how they want to play for the Guernsey and the coach. There have been multiple games this season where a lot of them looked disinterested and not motivated enough. You can lose against better teams but how do we explain the lack of effort against Freo twice, WC, Now Bulldogs, Brisbane (at the G)? Remember the great Neale Daniher... When it's all said and done... - Goodwin is the MAN!
