I think Curnow scored one, still a mighty effort. He was single-handedly winning to game for us last night.

Probably we will need to start moving away from some of those leaders from 2021, unless to they can be better next year. See Salem and Langdon. Salem had a good game I think last night but mentally he made too many mistakes for an experienced player. Langdon, a shade of his former self. The you have TMac and BBB that should not play next year. Lots of work to do in our list, this off season can be as important as the 2019 was.

Kozzy does need to learn how to control his aggression. He is young so expected, but one of the senior players and coaches need to mentor him.

It may be statistically perfect but the eye test sais it is predictable and boring. Need more corridor carry and run, be more damaging at turnovers.

He does seem to rely on analytics too much This year his favourite phrase was "score takes care of itself". Well, in the end it didn't. For all of our statistical dominance we were sent home in straight sets yet again.

Maybe this is Goodwin's style. Remember 2018, we looked primed to become regular contenders. Then we had 2019 and 2020 of learnings and got it together in 2021. Maybe 2022 and 2023 are the "learnings" years and it'll come together again next year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It is a wasted season for sure, like 2020 and 2022. And at some extent 2017. We have come from a 5 - 1 record in finals (a PF loss and a flag) to now 5 - 5 ( straight sets twice). We can't deny Goodwin's tenure feels like a rollercoaster.

I think we also bomb it because that way the ball is marked or drops close to the goal square, where you don't need to be an elite kick to create goals. See for example Curnow, takes a mark outside 50 maybe 55 m out and he almost gets a goal (touched on the line). Besides Fritsch and at some extent JVR/Petty, we don't have reliable kicks in our list. So we need the perfect angle and distance to create a score. That's not gonna happen in finals.

Marbiol Chol perhaps? , I haven't watched many GC games so not sure if he's what we need. Although to be honest I'd prefer that we were a chance at one of O. Allen, one of the King brothers or McKay. But unlikely of course. BBB and TMac retiring should give us the cap and list space for that KPF. We need to recruit the next Steven May and probably add more class to our midfield (skills are lacking).

McVee and JVR, gives us some hope that not all is lost. On the other hand, Langdon and Salem have regressed and we may want to fix that.

As always, boring in the pressers. Someone should ask him how come the score didn't take care of itself? With the amount of chances we had surely there should've been a winning score.

All I wanted was a PF. Carlton are not good, we had 8 more scoring shots.

I am just trying to avoid us becoming a supporter base that find excuses for everything. As others have noted, many teams have maged to reach PF, GF and even win it all with injury issues.

Could be more straight sets, who knows. If nothing changes for next year and we don't get a good Psychologist... it'll be tough task.

Not entirely true, Geelong lost PF and GF. We are not even making PF.

Who would've thought back in that glorious day September 2021... we were talking about a Deenasty, we were so dominant. We stil are very dominant in contested footy and defensive structures, but can't kick goals to save our lives under pressure.
