I believe what JTR is ranting about has to do with AFL members that nominated teams other than the two playing the finals game. I am of the same sentiment that club members and supporters should have first access to tickets, regardless if it is a club or AFL membership.

I am not inferring Grundy is the be all end all. Just more of general thought on the way the club will transition in the post Max Gawn era, unfortunately the skipper is not eternal.

My main concern is if he sustains one more knee injury (touch wood). At his age it could be hard to come back from that.

It's going to be very interesting how the club manages the transition period of Gawn going into retirement. I believe he's got two mere years in his contract? Hard for me to see anything but an additional year for him. We are still in a good position to try and develop a young ruckman. But time is running out. Grundy was a good back up plan, but he is not willing to remain under Max's shadow.

I think the analogy re the exotic car is not accurate for them, Lambos have class. It would be more fitting to say they are like a Ford UTE (the ones with the V8 engines), made for speed too.
