  1. Last year Brisbane finished 13th on 10 wins, I'm expecting them to improve. I'm not expecting us to pass any of those top 13 teams from last year (as I posted 12 of them EXPECT to be playing finals) and for us to win 10 games would be a good effort. For us to finish 13th we'd need to have a good year and one of them have a bad year which is reasonably likely. http://www.afl.com.au/ladder
  2. Well she NEEDS to be right to have any credibility IMO. If the AFL had the evidence to punsih us severely and Connnolly and Schwab to be sacked then any manner of legal threat wouldn't have deterred them. Whats does it matter if she's wrong? Surely you're joking. She stated we match-fixed. If the club being investigated was Carlton I would have thought they were toast, then when nothing happened immediately I would have suspected she has mislead me and tarnished Carlton's name. If you trust her "insight" then you may as well give up now.
  3. I recall we rated Heath Hocking too but the Bombers rookied him before we had the chance. These things happen.
  4. I used to value and respect her articles too. She hanged us in that November article and quite frankly it freaked me out. She's not stating her opinion when she writes we'll be severely punished and Schwab and Connolly will be sacked - she's writing that as a fact. If that was so clear last November why hasn't it transpired by now? The alternative explanation is that for some reason she was wrong - and that's VERY wrong.
  5. 13th in 2013 would be a decent result - it would put us at the head of the teams not expected to play finals.
  6. There's going to be a fascinating logjam for finals in 2013 - none of the 2012 finalists will expect to be out and all of Essendon, Carlton and Richmond will expect to be in. St.Kilda felt they should have been in last year and their stars haven't gone yet - they'll reasonably be aiming for finals too. There's going to be some carnage I reckon as clubs fall short of expectations.
  7. You value her opinion because she's informed, but you're not worried about her reporting? Wilson November 2012: That sounds unequivocal to me.
  8. Richmond rookie draft Petterd, Lonergan and Stephenson - that improves their immediate depth.

  10. Just really want to make sure this article is preserved for posterity - will Caro be genius or chump, time will tell ... http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/demons-shock--awful-20121102-28ppz.html Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/demons-shock--awful-20121102-28ppz.html#ixzz2EbUS5BuC
  11. Agree. Richmond are Cotchin and Deledio ahead of us and that's a very substantial lead. After that it's pretty well matched. Sure we've got Viney and Toumpas coming through now but they've got Vlastuin and Conca in the hopper and who's to say at this stage who'll turn out better? They seem to have Dom Tyson on ice for next year but there's plenty of water to flow under that bridge. They've also plugged key holes really well recently with I.Maric and Chaplin and they look solid enough ruck, forward and back. I think the Tigers are travelling pretty well.
  12. The radio announcers sought to and succeeded in breaching the medical privacy of the Duchess of Cambridge by impersonating her relatives - that is not a joke. After patient physical and psychological health care, protection of patient confidentiality is the most important responsibility of health care professionals. Jacintha Saldanha was working in an environment where the responsibility and importance of protecting the royal family's privacy was paramount. She made an professional error as a direct result of being mislead by this deceit, it's no surprise that she took this extremely seriously and personally.
  13. you're outdoing even yourself on this one ...
  14. Gotta love James Magner - anyone in the 22 has to work very hard to get past him to be there
  15. 8th in the Bluey - pretty good "bad" year 2012 Melbourne best and fairest - total votes 1 - Nathan Jones (368) 2 - Jack Grimes (348) 3 - Tom McDonald (314) 4 - Jordie McKenzie (312) 5 - Jared Rivers (310) 6 - Colin Garland (297) 7 - Jeremy Howe (293) 8 - Jack Trengove (275) 9 - James Frawley (266) 10 - Lynden Dunn (257)
  16. Very nice work on the banner - I reckon David Neitz should be in there - record games, record goals, record games as captain - under-rated.
  17. Gerard on 3AW last night said it's time for the AFL to put up or shut up on the Melbourne tanking investigation so that the club can move forward and sign sponsors and members who may be hanging off awaiting the outcome. He said tanking is one thing, proving it is another. Dwayne commented that Gerard often knew more than he said.
  18. That's exactly right - they wanted to reserve space to try to retain Davis but that all went pear-shaped. This is now conveniently forgotten by all concerned.
  19. If he has a massive year he could set himself up for a Goddard-like deal. He's really got one chance at it.
  20. Out of contract and unrestricted free agrent - if he's ever going to have a "breakout year" it's this year.
  21. It's an interesting question B: Terlich Davis Strauss HB: J.Macdonald Gillies Tynan C: Kent Magner Evans HF: Jetta Sellar Barry F: Fitzpatrick Hogan Davey R: Spencer Bail Couch I: Gawn Taggart M.Jones 2 rookies to come
