  1. Don't agree with that at all. He looks like a pro who is on top of the deals to me. They picked McLennan because he wants to go there! Loves surfing, dad from Brisbane.
  2. For a team that prizes the contest we we woeful at the aerial contest in 2017, particularly with Max out injured or out of form. Any kick down the line was a mark against us. We made some big improvements in that area in 2018 and I think we can make further improvements in 2019.
  3. Good to see Lewis has a similar attitude to Bernie's from last year.
  4. Casey needs to recruit a ruckman IMO. If plan A is to play Gawn and Preuss in the 1s, who is going to ruck at Casey? For the record I am not an advocate of another ruckman on the MFC list.
  5. This is the gold I am looking for, thanks!
  6. I don't think that's correct - I believe there's still 6 clubs with picks ... AFAIK, three of the 6 clubs had 2 vacancies but have committed to one player each, so 6 clubs have one slot left.
  7. That article sounds misguided to me. To participate in the mid season draft you need one rookie spot free. I reckon a number of the 6 clubs, including hopefully us, go "one short" so we can have a pick then. The "one short" wont hurt - we've already got 45 listed players including Cat B and are likely to use only about 30. Having a mid season pick would allow us to potentially take a Tim Kelly type who emerges at a lower level during the season. If all 6 clubs fill their lists by 1 March then there is no mid season draft AFAIK.
  8. Still shell shocked by the election results?
  9. I'm most interested in which groups back, mid, fwd, players are training with - e.g. Joel Smith, Dec Keilty, Bailey Fritsch, KK, VDB, Jayden Hunt and to lesser extent but still interesting - the draftees?
  10. Clubs pay many $000s for CDs standard stats package and many more for custom packages. I don't think they regard them as useless. What seems to missing here is the realisation that CD correlate stats with game outcomes to determine the important stats. It's an emerging and imperfect science but it's not "opinion".
  11. Goodwin always springs some selection surprises so even the best thought-out 22s are likely to be off.
  12. Numbers must be allocated I think because players are training so lockers will be allocated. Wonder when the announcement will be made?
  13. Final outcome: In: May, KK, Tom Sparrow Out: Hogan, Brett Bewley
  14. The Jake Lever trade has washed through the system now and can be viewed in (close to) completion. The 2 1st rounders we traded both ended up with Carlton and they chose O'Brien and Stocker. We took Petty with the 2nd rounder we got back. It's harder to track the late future 3rd and 4th round pick swap because we combined our 3rd with another 3rd and swapped that to the Saints for a 2nd so we didn't end up with the player at that pick and it would be a bit of exaggeration to say we got Jordon with it because we added something but it's as close as I can get. The future 4th round pick we traded ended up at St. Kilda and they took Robbie Young. So ... In: Lever Petty Jordon* Out: O'Brien (Carl) Stocker (Carl) Young (St.K) Clearly "bent over" : )
  15. There is no "wrong" with this selection, only "right".
  16. 2 Brownlow Medallists, 1 Norm Smith Medallist, 5 Premiership players and a dud.
  17. How many reverse gears have you got? First Smith doesn't even exist, then he's not tall enough for the role, then half of the six players off the top of my head the same size are "not having consistent impact" so he's no good. Maybe shift into R4 and tell me again that Bailey Williams would have been a better option than Smith in season 2019. The FD rate him as depth for the role and he hasn't had a straight run at consecutive AFL games. It's guaranteed he'll provide aerial and ground contest and help us play our style of locking it in our half. Not many clubs have ready-made quality tall forward depth in their squads, we were fortunate to have Weed last year but that was a special and unsustainable situation. Quality KPF aren't hanging around in the lower leagues.
  18. Jack Darling 191cm, Mitch McGovern 191cm, Mason Wood 192cm, Tim Membrey 188cm, Tom McCartin 192cm
  19. I think we've got 39 senior list + 3 cat a rookies + 2 cat b rookies we're 2 short but we might leave 1 or both slots free for the pre-season pick-up and mid season draft
