AFL TRADE NEWS AND RUMOURSĀ
Significant to you or me but not for the TPP. That sounds like a chantā¦

The Curfew
Is it really a curfew? They are not on holidays. They would be home at this time on a weeknight anyway when you are still working⦠If some of the players are calling it a curfew I would be disappointed. Footy players hey.

Geelong could do worse. Geelong have done worse. Good luck to him - it will be so tough to break in because it is really only Fritsch's medium forward role that he can play in our better teams. I am sure we would be upfront with him and right now is when all the clubs are talking to players so his agent should be doing the same for him.

CHANGES: GF vs Bulldogs
Hunt being the sub is interesting - but if you want that run - then just play him. His defensive work is much better and will provide another option to go to Weightman and will make him work the other way.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Letting Petty establish himself as a defender is essential for his confidence as an AFL player - I wouldn't move him for 2022.

CHANGES: GF vs Bulldogs
Things never spiral in the right direction do they?

Thanks Jonesy - Retirement
His friends winning a flag will fix that. It will be bittersweet - as it will be for Jayden and for Jake and a few others. That's ok. That is footy. And life.

I am so glad he got to haver this moment as Captain in a final after 12 seasons of failure. It was the best moment of the game IMO and something I think about from time to time when I think about the journey the club is currently on. Nathan was never going to get the fairy tale finish, but he has shaped this club and he helped to lift us to where we are and at the expense of a different, possibly more successful, path in different colours.

Who presents the Cup if we win?
Ah, ok, yes he would prefer to avoid getting into it and even to the detriment of his own contributions. He is human. I just hope we all move on - if the Demons of 2021 and beyond can deliver a flag and a united, forgiving club, we would want for nothing evermore.
-
Who presents the Cup if we win?
He said it was a special moment to be asked and it would be great to play a little role in this - so you are being a bit unfair. He knows his privilege and I appreciate that; he is embarrassed by this unearned spotlight and he shouldn't be.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Iām sure there is interest but perhaps not at the terms desired. He should stay for two years and reach FA and give himself a chance to push out TMac or BBB.

- Who presents the Cup if we win?
I find this symbolic for the club to have an avatar of our past issues and missteps at our lowest ebb (Neeld era) to be remembered for what he was at his best for when the club is at its best. I hope he is holding that cup!- GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Same. Now we will only get beaten if we fail to convert and/or by individual brilliance. And we have some brilliant individuals ourselves⦠If Bont and/or Naughton and/or Smith go crazy and beat us then I can live with that coz itās going to have to happen for them to win.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
Jake at the Cleaners: "Caleb has two suits and some shirts to be cleaned and pressed." Bloke at the cleaners: "My god you two are short... Why...why are you wearing a helmet?"- GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Talk about backs against the wall - the Dogs will have all the ammunition being in quarantine up until the day. Not that anyone needs much motivation for a GF.- GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs

Reported 4 year deal at either $400k or $500k I heard both around trade time last year. He is 28 and I think he will be able to play similar footy for the life of that contract. But who cares what happens after Saturday week if he can contribute to a flag.- 2019 Genius Recruiting
Great point. The 2017-9 period has been first rate. Draft and trade. But the 2013-5 of Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw, Salem, Hunt, Harmes, and ANB, is a lot of the fuel for 2021. 2 AA mids, a star HBF, and 4 excellent role players on all lines; with 4 of them in the leadership group.- GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
If Hugh had a player like Bruce taking his scraps - he wouldn't be seen in the light he is. Naughton's ability to run at the footy, and take pack marks, is powerful and I think he has more tools than McKay.- GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
I much prefer this structure of the bye before the GF. The Dogs have earned the week off. And we should have the GF with two teams gearing up for it and as healthy as they can be. The pre-finals bye is just a cash grab for a Thursday night final you can only do in that first week. It should go and and I hope the clubs gang up on the AFL to get rid of it. - Who presents the Cup if we win?
