Yeah, but they used to just sit there in silence.

Classic MFC fan revisionism of BB. He was fantastic at North and has been, and currently is, the best tall forward we have.

The oval shaped ball means the spin drags the ball down quicker which means you have to flush the ball in the ‘belly’ for shots past 30m out and that makes the ‘around the corner’ kick just as hard to master as the drop punt. Kids should definitely do more check sides and bananas and barrels though- they all have their place in the game.

Funny, I saw this and immediately thought they are isolating together and have got Covid. Others see a contract signing. Art is in the eye of the beholder…

Coz it’s Steven effing May…

Good point. The bigger crime is those self-imposed know-it-alls who look at players and say “he will never play in a premiership” and that is absolute nonsense. Half our team are ‘playing a role’ and are what are called ‘replacement players’ as they have no elite aspect to their game that can’t be replaced with an equally dedicated and trusted player. We had plenty of those people on here before last year.

We are playing 4 qtrs of defensive minded strangulation of teams as they slow the game down in a misguided attempt to bore us into making a positional mistake. It rarely comes and when we pounce it is only our execution and decision making that stops us slinging the ball through middle and deep into the forward line. Sometimes we are pure and sometimes we get away with it and sometimes the other team loses patience. And sometimes all three things happen in 6 minutes and we have kicked 5 and the game is over.

We hate Geelong.

And maybe turn up to games while you support a generational team…

Happy to try and cross that rubicon… Seriously though, we are great and hard to score against but there will be a team that backs themselves and runs through us enough times to kick 90 points like Adelaide last year. We are not infallible.

Don’t you dare ever mention AF score again - it is not a judgement on what he did with the footy - only that he got the footy. He would be disappointed in himself and his execution. He would never be dropped as a leader of the team but god his standard is so much more than what he produced.

There were a couple in that first quarter in the QF…

He still ball watches and finds himself out of position because of it. And there was a moment that was telling where he was facing our goal 60 out under pressure and hand passed a metre sideways to someone else under just as much pressure - take it on yourself, Sam. He has a long way to go in my view but he will be carried a long way by this team if he plays his role.

Yeah, well done to Jayden. Was evident at the ground that we had a hard ‘tag’ on Bolton in our system whenever he went forward of centre. I have an awful feeling that Jayden might miss out when we have our best backline but if he does jobs like that then he is a chance to stay in the team. I would prefer Jayden be able to play on a Charlie Cameron in September and get him thinking about defending Hunt and not just finding the footy.

Fremantle look very good. They are fast and play team defence. Their midfield is not as good as ours but it’s talented enough to get the ball and use it against anyone. Up there with Brisbane now IMO.

We are moving away from the MLB Network/NBA League Pass with the AFL app no longer streaming games as they did a few years ago. And this would be the vehicle for what you are describing - broadcast aggregation and choice. Were not getting that. That would be a dilution of the market and evidently something that the AFL doesn’t want to fight for.
-
Lol. That’s the point. Murdoch will have to pay if you want to pay him to watch the footy. Crowds might go back up again…
-
That’s abuse of the Queen’s English. Tex should apologise through a video with the Queen awkwardly sitting behind him…
-
This may be rhetorical but a handful this year. We can carry him against most.
-
I think if the finals started next week, TMac would be in the team - but they don’t and he is not. Ideal world - we would not have both our key forwards as 30 year olds with long careers behind them. So Sam gets more opportunities to earn a place in this team.
-
No he shouldn’t. He is an established senior player who was a performer in a premiership 6 games ago. I don’t know why you are so obtuse and naive with Brown.
-
Maybe he is playing a defined role that he will replicate in the seniors?

Makes sense to me

Would you like to bet the motel room you are now living in?
