Rain predicted on Sunday. You can't make this stuff up. Last year we played in one wet game, Vs Freo at Optus. This year we've played in 5 wet games, and lost them all. (I don't count the 90 second 3rq qtr drizzle that occurred in the Richmond game)

Swans challenging McCartin's 2 week suspension head knock on McAdam despite McAdam copping a depressed cheek bone from the incident. Longmire also might risk Papley despite injuring his hammy and finals on the horizon. Imagine if he tears it properly in our game.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

Surely North aren't going to hand back pick 1 to West Coast by winning an absolutely meaningless game against the Suns in Hobart, where most of their membership base won't even be at the game to enjoy the win. You'd imagine Gold Coast will leapfrog Freo on the ladder and we'll get pick 4 (before it balloons out with all the compromises) -
Welcome to Demonland: Trent Rivers

Yep. He's signed through to the end of 2027 which is fantastic. -
2 weeks in a row sides get done by the Goal Umps

The Adelaide decision was obviously a blunder. Is there categoric and undeniable proof that the umpire made an incorrect decision in relation to the Petracca goal decision last week? -
Eagles supporters on Bigfooty are genuinely livid their team won a game of footy. One of the worst seasons in living memory and they still won’t get pick 1.

6) Rivers - our leading possession gatherer and is becoming a serious AFL player. 5) Lever - Playing his intercepting best football. 13 marks is incredible impressive. 4) Viney - another brilliant hard working game. His disposal and decision making has dramatically improved. 3) Melksham - His presentation and marking up to the football was outstanding and he kept the scoreboard ticking throughout the day. He has that wild card vibe about him and needs to be in our finals team. 2) Brayshaw - Good midfielder’s performance. Is now a key fixture in our midfield. 1) ANB - was out of him or Sparrow for the last vote, but we’ll give it to ANB for his milestone. Having a dramatically improved 2023 compared to last year.

Would be an extremely harsh call to omit Bowey, but the holding the balls and the critical fumbles deep in defence are starting to stack up over the last few weeks. Whilst his offensive game is in order, we may be better off defensively with Hibberd replacing Bowey.

If the Swans are guaranteed to make finals (with a Dogs loss next week) then you’d imagine they’d rest Papley for our game. If Bulldogs win, and Sydney need to win to make certain of finals, then they might risk him. Then again, if he’s torn his hammy he’ll obviously miss next week and he’ll more than a handy out.

Looks like the ball hit the post from that pic you’ve provided.

The premiership race is so wide open this year it’s not even funny. Can easily see Carlton winning the flag now. Brisbane are hopeless at the G. Collingwood are looking wobbly, Port aren’t convincing. Who knows about us? I don’t want them to win the flag, but an impartial observer would concede that they’re in the hunt.
-
Late 2021 vibes about Carlton unfortunately.
-
Is there a scenario Carlton can miss the 8?
-
I’m happy for the boys to wear pink pyjamas across the finals series if it means we win the premiership. But you’re spot on. Our away finals against Port, Brisbane and probably Collingwood will require us to wear royal blue.

The GWS, Freo and Essendon losses were pathetic on our part. The Carlton loss was our best performed loss of the year and definitely no shame in losing to them. Another poster suggested the Port loss was a silly loss, but we gave it our all that night in trying conditions against a team in red hot form.
-
Yes 4th place is likely our spot (assuming we win this week) so the Swans game would be a dead rubber. I wouldn’t rule out Freo beating Port if they’re near their best, but unlikely. Tonight’s result would’ve definitely played havoc with peoples ladder predictor.
-
For those thinking Collingwood could lose next week, just a reminder that they’re playing the team that beat West Coast and North by a combined margin of 10 points in their prior 2 games.
-
Wow didn’t think of that. That would make Sydney a critically must win if Pies lose next week.
-
I heard there was a bunch of illness and general soreness going around the club next week. Dunstan, Harmes and Jordon to take the opening bounce.
-
Good night top 2. Too many silly losses through to early July have cost us, when we went in as clear $1.20 favourites.
-
Do you think the AFL umpiring is out to get Melbourne, and only Melbourne?
-
Yeah, if Collingwood were hell bent on winning tonight, then they would have played De Goey. They could afford not to take the risk.

If Brisbane lose and we beat the Hawks, then I'll be cheering Fremantle on extremely hard on Sunday evening. -
The number 1 priority is Carlton losing. If that occurs then we can pop open the champagne at 4:50 tomorrow afternoon and celebrate another top 4 finish. Hopefully Carlton "Carlton" it up as they usually do on the Coast. Port and Brisbane both losing and top 2 is back on the agenda. If it comes to a scenario where Brisbane lose, we win and then posters hope Port beat Freo for us to get a better draft pick at the expense of a top 2 spot, then I'd have to wonder where their priorities lie.

Possibly. Between round 17-20 he was averaging 6.5 marks and 2.5 goals a game. Last 2 games it's down to 2 marks and 0 goals per game. If that rolls into a third game, it might be curtains for him for the year with Fritsch likely back next week.
