  1. They'll still win games this year (3-4) We won 2 games in 2013 and Essendon's best 22 after the top ups they'll get will be superior than Melbourne circa 2013. Round 2 reeks of problems if we don't come switched on. Anything less than the attitude and application we showed against Geelong last year and we'll probably be the first side to lose to them.
  2. LaBamba will be first cab off the rank ahead of White and Grimes. Roos was all over him at last years trade period so will give him every opportunity to ensure the trade wasn't a bust.
  3. I'd take Scully over Harmes. Harmes has played 1 good game (v's Gws rd 23) while Scully is a proven quantity. An overpaid but proven quantity. Harmes has a long way to go before proving he can be an AFL player.
  4. If he's still on the sidelines by 15 Feb (6 weeks after diagnosis) then I think we can all panic.
  5. Essendon will still win a handful of games (3 or 4) They play Carlton twice, we'll lose to them as we can't handle being favourites, and they'll play a couple of injury riddles teams.
  6. How you can guys be happy with this? We paid through the roof for Melksham and don't have him for a year. Crap result for the MFC.
  7. A 2 week suspension would satisfy me. we play them in round 2 and then we have Milkshake available rd 3.
  8. A 12 month ban for a player we paid through the roof for this past trading period would be a garbage result for the MFC.
  9. Milkshakes in our best 22. Well he's in Roos and Goodwins 22 which I think is fairly obvious if you'd read Roos's glowing pre season update on Melsksham.
  10. Fingers crossed they get off tomorrow, and we have Melksham available for round 1 - you know the player we gave up a second rounder and paid a 4 year contract for. i couldn't give a snot what happens at Essendon. All I care about is our best 22 players being available come the season opener.
  11. I'd dump the 2005 Essendon game from the list. Just doesn't come to mind when I think of classic wins. I'd replace it with the 2000 qualifying final v's Carlton. Surprised that hasn't been mentioned yet as it was just a magnificent win after being down by 5 goals at 3qtr time to the second best side that year. The worst win since 1970 was that shocker of a game v's Brisbane last year.
  12. Happy birthday! i hope you'll be happy with Melksham missing the year after we paid through the roof to get him.
  13. He'll be alright as long as he stays clear of the Sam Frost rehab program.
  14. And why we won't play finals this year.
  15. I agree with this. Each summer our midfield gets grossly overrated around here and then week after week I watch us lose 5 centre clearances in a row in the first quarter which inevitably costs us the game.
  16. That was a statement win by us. For years the pies have treated us like a joke, to the point that some of their fans would stay away from queens birthday games as the result would be beyond doubt before the opening bounce.
  17. I've stuck up for him every until last year. Last year was an epic fail for him in terms of his inconsistency- 7 year of inconsistency and he was still getting dropped to Casey. Without knowing the facts, I reckon he was shipped around in Sep/Oct but no club would offer anything decent for him. I've given up hope on a break out season, and believe that 2016 will be his last at MFC.
  18. I think it's fair to say that on exposed form, these 2 are the worst two players at the MFC, and are very lucky to be on the list. Having said, they're still eligible for games next year (before our rookies) and the balls in their court to warrant selection. What are your expectations of these 2 for next year and is there a place in the side for either, if they're in form and warranting selection?
  19. Brayshaw reeks of captaincy material and I would say he'd be a near certainty of being of our next skipper if it were not for Viney. I suspect it will be out of those two to take over Jones, although I wouldn't be upset if Hogan was our long term captain
  20. Anyone know if there's going to be a Nathan Jones package of games this month on Fox? He'd be the only player at the moment that would come close from our list.
  21. We've officially arrived as a club if we can trade in Prestia while re-signing Hogan and Tyson on long term deals in 2016.
  22. Jack would qualify at the end of 2018 I think. This year would have a massive bearing on whether he achieves it or not. if he has a poor year then I think it's curtains for him at MFC and possibly in AFL.
  23. I shudder to think what the comments around here might be if Jack Watts ever gets a life membership.
  24. Didn't he get B.O.G in the 2014 NAB Challenge game against Richmond? Off memory he got about 28 touches and 10 marks. Then a few weeks later he was done and dusted for 2014-2015. So just a little reminder that Trengove was still able to show off his talents despite his injury issues at the time.
