  1. The MFCSS in me sees Schache and Hannan making a mess of us next week.
  2. Keith will be available for the GF.
  3. Dogs and Dees GF is a fair result given we were both in the top 2 together for 16 of 23 weeks. I made a poor call taking up Port during the week.
  4. Brilliant goal by Wines.
  5. Take your point about the weeks rest. An absolute advantage to the Dogs should they make it. Similar to how they blessed with the bye week between round 23 2016 and week 1 finals.
  6. If Bont is over his knee problem, Keith is back in the side and Stef Martin is match fit than I agree they could be an issue in the GF. However, too many ifs with the Dogs at the moment and Port are humming along nicely with a healthy squad that hasn’t needed to quarantine recently.
  7. Would you rather play an absolute full strength and well rested Port Adelaide who have a clearly stronger side than the last time we played them (Gray, Durrsma, a fit Butters) and are clearly on a mission this year after choking at home last year? Or a Bulldogs side that has traveled all over the place, has their leading goal kicker on the sidelines, arguably the best player in the league under an injury cloud and possibly their premier defender still on the sidelines. Pretty easy answer I wouldn’t thought. Port will run away with this in the second half as the season will have caught up with the tired Dogs who have done an obscene amount of travelling lately.
  8. Absolutely no change. Im sorry for Hunt but he got injured at the wrong time and Bowey passed a big test tonight. I would make Jones sub. If it’s out of JJ or Jones I’d make a sentimental call and give it to Jones given it’s highly likely neither will actually get on the field.
  9. If he doesn’t motivate you, nothing will. He’s looking damn good.
  10. Don't flick on fox footy at the moment. A certain heart breaker in 2018 is on between these 2 mobs.
  11. Fremantle and West Coast supporters pretending (or even actually) to be barracking for Melbourne should not be getting a bar code. End thread.
  12. This just in from the Geelong Bigfooty board. Who kicks Melbourne’s goals? Very, very poor forward line for a TOTL team. Yes their defence is stellar but our offence is a cut above AND they have not experienced the 4 Headed Monster.
  13. I won't be throwing the toys out of the cot if we don't win the flag this year. We've shown how far we've come this year and it will be no doubt inaccuracy rather than ability/system/talent that sees us fall short which is a good sign for future years given our list profile and talent at our disposal. But if we then proceed to fade back into oblivion next year and beyond, well that's another story.
  14. Any chance Uncle Dan will let us venture further than our front yard this time next year so we can attend next year's prelim?
  15. Yeah remember walking from the old red seats to the exits of the Olympic stand and there were scarves in the bin. As a youngster I couldn’t understand why you’d dump a footy scarf in the bin but there you go. Esseondon have dealt us some heartbreakers over the years.
  16. Too many arvo beers?
  17. Port are winning this and winning this well. Despite people’s low opinion of this club, I think they’re our genuine threat for this flag. They’re almost full strength, haven't needed to quarantine this month, have started beating top 4 sides (Dogs and Geelong) and will field a far stronger line up than the last time we played them (R Gray, Dursma, a fit Butters, etc…)
  18. We can put our hats back on. Roffey has made it to Perth according to channel 7. Kochie has been denied entry. Tom Browne and Sam McClure have also made the trip - because apparently Perth doesn’t have journalists and TV news sports reporters
  19. That 1990 loss to North (130 odd pts) directly cost us the double chance. A close loss and we would've finished 3rd. A little know fact was that we played North when North were in the middle of a 10-2 run, so we got them when they were smoking hot and we were on our obligatory mid season nap. We did actually beat North in round 1 by 53 points that year.
  20. Which one out of interest as both encounters were fantastic wins against North that year. 1) The earlier game where we kicked our equal record score of 180+ 2) The later game where Jako kicked 11.8.74
  21. Given that the losing team pretty much never kicks 100 points in a game these days, I'd say that stat rings true in modern day footy. I think only 2 teams kicked 100 points in a game this year and lost. The early 90's was a different story. For example Sydney were 120 - 90 at half time against North in 1991 and somehow lost by 9 goals.
  22. As a young 10 year old that day I couldn’t work out why there were so many MFC scarves in the bin after the game. That game really knocked the stuffing out of the MFC members as there was a realisation that the 87-91 window was firmly shut. Northey was sacked 16 weeks later.
  23. First game - Round 20 1988 - 10 point loss to the Dogs at the MCG Best game - 2000 qualifying final win over Carlton. I know everyone can't get over the round 23 win over Geelong, but sorry that win didn't come close to the finals win over the heavily favoured Carlton. Worst game - round 2 2013. 148 point loss to Essendon and then got stranded on the train for 3 hours on the Pakenham line as someone thought it would be a good idea to jump on the tracks. An absolutely horrid night. I'm done with watching games on TV. Bring on next year!
  24. Absolutely no upside in handing over a bar code unless you have a family or a friend in Perth. I wouldn’t hand over a bar code to some internet random. Plus people in Perth have had the opportunity to purchase a GF guarantee membership which went on sale recently.
  25. Gotta love every Western Australian and his dog feeding off the carcass of every Melbournian who's stuck in lockdown.
