  1. I thought the Sydney supporters were relatively tame in their celebrations as if they expected to win and have their eyes firmly on the big prize. Compare that to Collingwood supporters who would’ve celebrated last night as if they’d won their 5th flag in a row.
  2. Sucks that most of us missed the game.
  3. Highest placed QF gets the Friday night prelim. If Collingwood somehow beat Geelong, Sydney get the Friday night prelim and we’d potentially play Collingwood on the Saturday twilight or night slot.
  4. So if Geelong win tomorrow and we beat Brisbane, it will be 3 Friday night finals in a row.
  5. Hard to have confidence given we’re 0-5 against the top 4 sides. After week 1 finals last year we were 1-0 against Port, 2-0 against Geelong and 2-0 against Brisbane. They were the other top 4 sides of the 2021 season. Much like our atrocious MCG record against Sydney, short and long term history is against us. It’s looking like we’re a 4th-6th side this year.
  6. Very harsh mate. We wouldn’t have a flag without his 4 possession 1 free kick (against) third quarter in last years granny.
  7. Hawks somehow when to Perth twice in the 2015 finals and won the flag. Richmond lost their 2020 qual final. Pretty sure West Coast and Sydney lost their qualifying finals in 2006 and 2005 respectively.
  8. Particularly the latter of the two rucks you mentioned.
  9. No woulda, coulda, shoudlas about tonight mate. Beaten fair and square by a high quality side on an 8 game winning streak.
  10. We’ll probably dodge a bullet by avoiding Collingwood in a prelim, so you never know.
  11. Was absolutely pathetic tonight. One mark and absolutely taken to the cleaners by a 4 club journey man.
  12. It was always going to be a massive setback when Burgess chose to leave us. Probably premiership implications.
  13. Absolutely agree with that. Since our impressive win over St Kilda in round 8 we’re 2-5 at the MCG and one of them we stole one over Carlton. The stats don’t lie and I feel we may have gone to the SCG with less pressure and a rock solid interstate record under belt. May have been a different result.
  14. Oh well at least we’ll probably avoid our other bogey team in Collingwood in a prelim. (If we get the job done next week)
  15. We have a 2-11-1 record against Sydney at the MCG since 2002. let that sink in.
  16. Up to 45 mins delays on the Sandy line, as at 4:45pm according to the PTV website.
  17. He was good for Collingwood in 2018 and 2019. Played 50 games and kicked 27 goals over those two years.
  18. Yeah noticed that. Sarah Jones pulled up Dunstall on this. Credit to her.
  19. According to David King and the boys: Melbourne V Brisbane: 9 September 2022 - 7:50pm. MCG. All they’re talking about is how Brisbane will go against Gawn and Jackson without a recognised ruckman.
  20. Happy with that. Really didn’t want to play Richmond next Friday night (if tomorrow ends up going south)
  21. In fairness to GNF if you’re going to make stuff up, you’re going to give more exciting stuff than Mitch Brown 50/50 to get another year or Hunt listening to other club offers.
  22. It was chronically severe sarcasm on my part re: Blease, but them getting Smith and Holmes over us was annoying.
  23. I expect Geelong to get Grundy over us as per tradition: They stole Brent Grgic and Sam Blease off us. (*slight sarcasm*) They convinced Isac Smith to choose Geelong over us. They selected Max Holmes literally one selection before we were about to pick him (not that I'm complaining about Bowey but right now you're taking Holmes over Laurie)
  24. Have to agree with this. If we can't win without our 16-23rd best player, it's not going to be a very enjoyable September. He will be missed though if he's out, or off his tucker if selected.
  25. On first thoughts, this is a massive blow as he was so important to our structure playing the non Langdon wing and was often used as an option to pass to coming out of half back. Having said that, he can’t be that critical in the eyes of the coaches given he was dropped for round 23.
