  1. I like the look of Phillipou a lot. Reminds me more of GWS Kelly than Bont. Excellent vision and creates time and space. Bottom ager too boot Let's do the Poo!
  2. Bulldogs have quite a few of them. Both Libba and Hunter are good players despite this. Managed to get rid of the worst one though: Stringer
  3. What's the ruck at Casey like? Is it Bell? Worth a rookie spot? Iirc injured for last part of Casey season so Weid took over.
  4. AFL article from back in April https://www.afl.com.au/news/735813/why-essendon-could-miss-out-on-exciting-next-gen-talent-anthony-munkara
  5. The link says he's 186cm. Looks a lot taller in the clip Talented, but the standard made him look better
  6. After Ashcroft. Sheezel at 4? Tsatas at 5?
  7. Speaking of training ground, preseason training must start in about 3 weeks. Is it 6 wks or 8 wks off in the agreement? Can't wait!
  8. I agree, it doesn't get us The Cadillac, which is disappointing, but we have JVR and Tmac coming in in 2023 and maybe even Petty up forward for cameos. Perhaps Lamb and Taylor also have eyes on the 2023 draft which is meant to be a ripper. That would net us our 1st (18!) and Fre's 1st (12ish) and Norf's 2nd (20ish). That's a very good hand in a strong draft. I still think the key to us improving next year is a strong preseason and an exceptional run with injuries throughout the season
  9. Goody to Ooze: "Glad you stayed. See what you might've been up to your armpits in?!"
  10. Can you name a religion or denomination that is not asset rich? By and large, riches built on the back of taking money from the masses and tax breaks. The catholic church, for example is the richest ngo in the world, yet I'd bet that the large majority of its followers are either poor or far from affluent If I am correct, SWYL is referring (yes, in a generalised way) to the church being rich, as in the religious organisation. Not the individual participants in it One upmanship of religious experience does not make you any more right in this matter. It only highlights arrogance
  11. Dont get those two mixed up, jontee
  12. I'm still laughing at this page!
  13. Good. As Diamond Jim wrote: it only has to happen once for clubs to never do it again I'd be wrapped if another club snatched him, especially us! Different circumstances, but I can almost see Freo doing the same with their 13
  14. Shame there isn't an independent panel that audits clubs SCs. Has Bowes been promised a free hobby farm near Geelong as well? Or something similar for family back in Cairns?
  15. L Jackson for 13 and Freo F1st
  16. I bloody well hope so! Can't stand this manipulation that goes against 'good faith', whatever that represents in the AFL
  17. And exactly how would he make it through to Brisbane in the PSD without he and the Bears manipulating the system? ie. Draft tampering But given its the AFL, anything goes if they say so
  18. Not sure why. As much as they don't admit it, their ruck stocks are useless unless NicNat gets on the park, and he's 9/10 shot. I'd even find a F3rd for them to help
  19. Bell loves the drama But as Dogga is OOC and WCE have shown little interest, Freo know they have the upper hand
  20. Freo are trying to force us to take 13 and a future 1st for Jackson. Wouldn't surprise me if they trade out or try to trade out 13 and screw us even further I trust that Lamb and Taylor are speaking with some of Freo's more fancied players to put the heat on Bell Many watchers are saying this draft tapers off significantly after the first 5-6 picks. Hope we can work back into that range
  21. I heard it on SEN at the time and thought it was a clear backhander by Rendel. Was unnecessary and sounded targeted to me, he repeated the comments several times Glass houses, Matt!
  22. If Freo can't find the picks to do the deal do we target one of their players? Realistically, who might that be? Let's leave Brayshaw, Serong and Young out of the mix because that's not going to happen
  23. I don't think Dogga has found his best role (as opposed to position) within the Melbourne side. Is he best competing in the ruck contest, or roving around as a tall, competitive mid or kicking goals deep? We all see his potential and upside, but we don't know how far that will extend. With maturity and experience he will find that role and hopefully become the star that people talk of. That is what we are trading upon, not that he is comparable atm to Grundy, Carey, Dusty or Gawn
  24. To be fair Dazzle, Dogga has been hampered by a knee injury for most of this year and he is still learning at 20. How many other 200cm big men have got to his level this early in their career? Very, very few I think Freo's pitch to play him as a mid next to Darcy in the middle is an amazing possibility for them
  25. Would think it is in WC's best interest to play the trading game and make Freo honestly believe they are a chance. Float the prospect of pick 2 just to get the ball rolling. I think pick 2 on its own would be acceptable. The Sheezle or The Cadillac would be massive long term talents in red and blue. But I cannot see any club with a top 5 pick trading it away, that's where the true talent is in this draft Otherwise I fear Freo will just delay until the last minute and offer us way unders. 13 and their future 1st is pizz poor
