  1. My understanding is that the saints have done less than us and we share parts of that zone/league
  2. SMJFL is the larger one. I believe it is in our catchment, though post pandemic anything could have changed You're asking me if I have data on children and where they live??? Only the league would have that and guard it closely, as they should. Even if it is de-personalised I'm telling you that a good sized junior league is more likely than not to play on the 6 Dingley ovals that Hawthorn control. Not for certain, but won't be playing on Casey ovals. Hawks have done a lot of work with them. Its a fantastic opportunity that we did not take advantage of. Those kids, their siblings and parents will get HFC merch and access to players. Fish in a barrel stuff. No one is saying we don't do anything, but this is a good example of a junior league in our catchment that we didn't do enough with As you say, we have a a good future fund, we have the money, hopefully we are using more of it to get young kids involved with the club. They are our future, not old f@rts like us I'll leave you to keep the discussion going, I've made my point. Its easy to argue the small stuff, harder to talk constructively about further improving our position, which is what this thread should be about I don't have the answers, I'm obviously not a MFC insider, but I think we could do more
  3. Twice in last quarter I watched Carlton players hold arms out and question free kicks against them. No 50m penalty. The Tmac free and goal 25m out was one. If Gil is to put new rules in he must ensure they are applied consistently. Zero tolerance means zero.
  4. Andy Maher and Dave Hughes will be wetting their pants with delight over this result
  5. You're a funny guy. Can you name a junior league near Casey we have put significant work into? That we have won over? There are two that I know of in our catchment area. The largest which represents 1000s of boys and girls looks like being lured by Hawthorn to their huge Dingle facility with little resistance from us. The entire league, that is, playing on Hawthorn ovals. A massive win for the Hawks. My understanding is that the league has had little contact from us I'm sure HFC sponsors would love to supply club merch to those kids and their siblings The other smaller junior league we have put very little work into Sometime just winning a GF isn't enough to generate new, young supporters
  6. Looking forward to watching the guys who have been pine sitting come on in the 2nd half
  7. Like all of these new rules, they come out hard, pay it at every opportunity, and then ease off as the negative press and club complaints roll in
  8. Taj got plenty of it to be amongst our best, according to afl.com.au Weid 4 to half time then rested for tonights game
  9. Sure, but what evidence do you have that this isn't being done, given that its only a few months since we won a flag, $2mill+ profit, our membership is 25% up, sponsorship is up, merch sales went through the roof, key players are re-signing long deals, etc Are things tracking down in your eyes? Are there MFC staff fractures? No one is asking you to give detailed info that you claim to have, no need for photos involving goats, but surely you can supply more than a couple of innuendo hand grenades. You've replied to many on here, so you are clearly interested in this info coming out. Until there's more info out, you'll just get the same outraged posters trying to shut the thread down Dish it up in a riddle, if you like 🤣🤣🤣 As I said, I usually enjoy reading your posts
  10. Usually a fan of your intel Mach5, particularly around trade time. However, this 'I know something that you don't and I'm not going to tell' malarkey is tiresome and looks like you are deliberately provoking reactive demonlanders with the most buttons to press, which has been the result. Hope you're having fun Btw, I was under the impression that wild rumours without substantiation were not permitted on this site???
  11. $225mill??? That's some very expensive cup holders in every seat
  12. Tracc has come a long way, but I think there are others are ahead of him in the MFC leadership stakes. Jake Lever will be our next captain IMO.
  13. Watching the GF on TV live i remember Pearce's comments in the 3rd when Dogs went 19pts up. She mentioned how long it had been since we goaled and the value of resetting the momentum. Said something like that we just needed to find a way of getting a goal, toughing out a way forward, to reset. Then Viney pushed out space for Harmes to kick to Fritter and off we went She read exactly where the game was at and described it succinctly. Perfect commentary Wish there was more like that within the commentary team and less 'wow-wee!' dipsh*ts
  14. Touch and go for R1 according to Richo https://www.afl.com.au/news/705636/flag-demon-in-huge-r1-doubt-after-nasty-corkie
  15. I know its just a quick highlights clip, but a few observstions: The Weid is bigger and stronger across the chest and shoulders and looks to have confidence in his actions. Competition and pressure amongst our key forwards is an excellent sign. Go Weid! Chandler might surprise a few and push for senior selection this year. He's clever, a good tackler and neat kick. Kozzie and Spargo will know he's nipping at their heels. I love Jack Viney, but the cheap hip and shoulders should not be part of his game. Hopefully its just a one off match sim thing Lastly, its great to see so many forward entries being low hit ups, players lowering their eyes. Remember our frustrations a couple of years ago watching repeat long bombs into the F50? How times have changed!
  16. Cannot read due to paywall. However, its easy to talk in hindsight after your first club were clearly the best team of the year and just won the flag convincingly. Would he be saying this if we finished outside of finals in 2021? Possibly not. Might have been nice for JH to have sorted out his stuff when he was on our list several years ago and stayed. He had a lot on his plate and moving back to his mates in WA was always dangerous. As a club we still had much to learn about player development and wellbeing. But gaining pick 6 and then using that on May was a master-stroke. Loved JH as a MFC player, the early game where he tore Rance apart is a favourite. Do I miss him though? Not really.
  17. Meanwhile, Sam Walsh signs on for 4 years at Carlton, taking him to FA And Quaynor signs for 3 at Pies
  18. I gather you might be alluding to Liam Jurrah and the family troubles that led him to return back to his home. Tippa is a top end Tiwi Islander, Jurrah from desert country Yuendumu, Central Australia. They are quite different cultures. Not all indigenous Australians are the same, or even comparable.
  19. BTW, I'm surprised no numbers nerds here have commented upon today's date: 2/2/22
  20. I went to my regular psychic appointment today and it was closed
  21. I followed the Boroughs in the VFA as a kid and thought Fred Cook was a legend. Went to games just to see him play. Always expected something interesting to happen: a fight, a crowd interaction, a bag of goals or a bag of d**gs! Certainly lived life to the full, whatever you thought of him. Vale Fred Cook.
  22. Didn't Goody say that Jack was his favourite player in an interview with Gus pre GF?
  23. True daisycutter, but there's a bit more to it than that. Approx 1 mill Australians are under 5 yrs old and not yet eligible for covid vax. 5-12s have only recently had access to covid vaccines. And hopefully those with legitimate allergies or other vax health issues will be able to take the new Novovax option The rest, well... there's always a shallow end to the gene pool How many on AFL lists haven't met the deadline? 2 or 3?
  24. Heard he died of covid, ironically caused by some bat out of hell I'll see myself out...
