  1. I’ve had colonoscopies that felt better than that. Absolute s**t
  2. On my way in with the father in law who is a mad saints supporter in the Halos Lounge. Going to have to be well behaved! 🔴🔵
  3. So much to be said about Jim, Don and all Dees supporters in the early 2010s. I wholeheartedly agree with comments in the article; the AFL was a different time back then and I’m sure they were hoping we would fold to make us one of the expansion clubs. Sure we didn’t get the coaching right (and that was extremely painful), but to wipe out $5m of debt post GFC, survive two expansion clubs / compromised drafts, and finally the introduction of free agency… makes you feel very proud. Go Dees
  4. More recently; Gary Ablett Jnr
  5. What publication was this?
  6. Also one to note that in the 4th quarter it looked like Reid pushed Viney dangerously into a contest and the best the commentators said was “looks like the umpires are giving Reid a warning”. Didn’t mention what for, didn’t show a replay.
  7. Maxy had no right calling that ball, charging through and hitting Turner lace out for a goal. So good
  8. TheWiz replied to Dingo's topic in Melbourne Demons
What’s interesting about Xerri is that last year he became a tackling machine, averaging 7.5 per game. For context, Gawn averaged 2.5. Last week against Carlton he was game high with 11. To your point, if the skills aren’t great then you have to be providing some other intensity around the ball like tackling.
  9. I loved that effort and it could have easily have been a triple - he was on the outside free but Gawn went Petracca inside. Awesome
  10. 4th quarter stats 7 games, lost all quarters. Tied with West Coast. Dees total 7.21 (63 points) for an average 1.5 per 4Q Opp. total 33.14 (212 points) for an average 5.0 per 4Q
  11. Question back on to you here
  12. If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t he a forward when we drafted him? I thought that was what made his defensive work so good.
  13. I remember a few years ago we were playing Freo at the G. A friend is close to Petracca and she said he wouldn’t be playing as he had some gastro like symptoms. We were shocked to see him out there and I think he only managed a couple of touches. Looked very off. Heard after the game apparently Goodwin said something along the lines of “would you still play if it was the grand final?”. This bloke has zero flexibility.
  14. Freo are a great team. Solid midfield, defence and ruck. 2 McDonalds and 2 Sharps. Dees by 6
  15. Loved Hunt’s pressure in the last couple of minutes.
  16. I’m a bit over the “we had a good quarter” and “look at our inside 50s” rhetoric. It’s Round 5 and we’ve only kicked 3 or more goals in 5 quarters. That’s the worst in the league. We should be talking about having one quiet quarter a game, not one good quarter!! Looking at total points scored so far we’ve kicked 305 points. Second worse. Just two goals ahead of West Coast’s 293. They’ve had 3 years to fix the forward line and instead invested in a midfield and defensive game plan - which the rest of the league hasn’t and it’s passed us. Goody deserves the respect of ending our premiership drought and for one of the most exciting years of footy. But four years later and we’re now 2nd bottom of the ladder and haemorrhaging. Pride comes before the fall. The game plan hasn’t worked out. Let’s move on and rebuild.
  17. Tom Sparrow… 50 minutes time on ground for 2 touches, two tackles, one mark and one free against.
  18. Will be an ugly game, Dees by 12
  19. I’ve made a rod for my own back. My wife’s Essendon membership was about to lapse. Would have been 25 years, but I renewed it without telling her as a surprise. It arrived today and she has already got the stickers out threatening that they’re going on the car and our son will change to them if we don’t win. I’m not saying I’m an [censored], but I’ve done smarter things.
  20. In the last quarter Geelong were kicking the ball out of their defensive 50 and it was going to Gawn 1 on 1. JVR sprinted across and chopped Gawn’s arms in what would have been a mark. Went to ground, and his opponent went off with it - goal. Max stood there looking [censored] off (not aggressive) and waited for JVR to walk up to him to share some water. Gave him a pat on the head but it showed me: 1) they’re playing a very low confidence and selfish type of footy, 2) we don’t know the basic skills of blocking players, 3) good leadership from Gawn to not lose it but once in a while they need a spray.
  21. I didn’t see Petracca laughing but he was very filthy in the 4th quarter. Lots of yelling at players for not running, pointing at opposition getting loose and at the final siren threw his mouthguard into the ground and walked away.
  22. I’m driving down to Kitty-litter Park tomorrow with a couple of Geelong supporting mates. Banking on a win so I don’t have to hear their dribble on the way back.
  23. Getting rid of Viney is like getting rid of Junior all over again. Plenty left and heart and soul.
