I am not against it. But for some reason just can’t see him leaving Geelong.

Is our time at the top done?
The obvious and more than likely answer is no. But the AFL competition is the most even it has been in my life and next year will probably be more so again. This year there were four different teams in the finals, one of the teams that missed out was last year’s premiere’s the runners up only got in on the back of a massive mistake by North Melbourne. So it could have easily been five different teams in the finals. Next year GC, Adelaide, Fremantle and the Bulldogs will all go into the season thinking they can and probably should make finals. Hawthorn, Essendon and North will all more than likely be harder to beat and cause a few more upsets next year. As the competition gets more even the luck or fairness / unfairness of the fixture will really play a part on the ladder. We have a very strong list but have our weaknesses and they need addressing if not I think there is a chance we miss finals next year. My biggest concern for us next year is the psychology of the group, they worked so hard through the season to give themselves a chance at redemption only to provide one of the biggest choke’s in modern AFL.

Non-MFC: Finals Week 03
It’s going to be tough watching both games this weekend and so much worse if Collingwood and Carlton both win.

Farewell James Jordon
I can totally understand why he is leaving and don’t think we as a club have handled him the best. I mean it’s a bit rich of us to say we want to keep you but we just brought in Hunter to play your role. And Hunter statistically didn’t really add any more than what Jordon was providing in 22. Anyway I wish him all the best but I also think we as a club need to be looking at Rivers, Howes, Gus and Taj on the wings to improve next year on Langdon, Hunter and Jordon.

Contracted Tomlinson Looks to Move On?
I still won’t be surprised if he’s at another club next year.

Cool light of day
He was available last year, pretty sure I got vomit and face palm emoji’s for suggesting we go after him. His strengths would have complemented our list greatly in my opinion.

Agree totally, I think after the dust settled last year we could except the excuses / reasons we failed in the finals. This years choke will be spoken about for years to come and no excuses will soften the blow. The most frustrating part we have to wait a year to hopefully see if we can get over this mental weakness.

What's needed in 2024
I personally feel our list management team have rightly been given credit for building a premiership winning list. But I don’t think we improved enough last off season, particularly compared to another premiership contender in Brisbane. The Grundy experiment was one of the most bizarre trades of all time and as serviceable as Hunter has been he hasn’t really improved us. I think for us to improve next year both Langdon and Hunter’s positions should be under threat from Taj and Rivers. I would also look at having Turner train with the forwards and recruit another tall back and hopefully we can draft a smart and skilful midfielder. I think our list management over the next year will be some of our most important in recent memory.
