No Daise! it’s the complete reverse: I peeled back a couple of navy and white layers (one of them being my Bruce 11 Doull duffel coat) many years ago to reveal a red and blue core. I’m a Demon through and through!!!

That’s Shaun “Duxy” Dux. Apart from Ryan (one of our three awesome leaders), I’d say Shaun is the most recognisable member of the DA. He’s a lovely guy, and for that reason alone he’s certainly not BBO. 😁

Except she’s not. She’s above the letter ‘t’ in ‘Collective’ standing perilously close to a Tigers supporter and directly in front of a Collingwood supporter, wondering if she’s up to date with her rabies shots. As far as I know BBO wasn’t even there. I mean, he might’ve been, but I don’t recall seeing anyone in a 7XL red and blue kaftan with matching red and blue crocs.

That was knitted by one of our DA esteemed leaders and it’s a gift for a beautiful 16yo girl who has cerebral palsy and whom I met through the Frittata family: she’s absolutely crazy about Fritta. At least, that’s the story the delusional wannabe wife told BBB. Whether he believes it is another thing entirely. 😁

He was walking with us just like a regular bloke off the street except he was nothing like a regular bloke off the street since people lining the street would stop him and ask for a pic every five minutes. He obliged every single time despite never wanting to make it about him. Same as at our W training sessions: he’d come off the ground with his head down not wanting any attention while we were all clapping the girls off. It’s never about him. He’s such a sweet person.

The Midsumma Pride Festival was an amazing spectacle of colour and fun. We marched under the banner: “AFL Pride Collective” which meant we marched with supporters of other clubs. Our Club had the most participants and we were the loudest (of course 😁). And BBB marched with us. ❤️💙

Our men will be attending Family Day, of course. Our women’s team is on a break but the girls being the girls there’ll likely be some of them attending. Daisy has already said she’ll be there. Also wanted to mention that as well as our usual fare (sausage in bread, soft drink, bottled water etc.) we’ll have cakes. One of our members is a professional baker and her cupcakes are to die for. We’ll also be selling merch.

I actually sprained my ankle very badly at the same time. That healed really well but the pain in the sole never went away. Mine’s a cautionary tale… never run on uneven ground in platform sandals. Oh, and while you’re drunk. 🙃

Will do, dc! As well as my stomach I’ll be marching on a fractured foot. That’s either dedication or stupidity, probs lots of both. I fractured it in the line of duty though. Drunk at our women’s Best & Fairest. Only just got it X-rayed a week ago so I figure since I’ve been walking around on it for two months, one more day is cake. 😁👍🏽❤️💙

This could be posted in the training Feb1 thread as it’s another example of poor communication between the Club and fans. The announcement by the media of BBB shaving his head at our Family Day is largely how many fans discovered Family Day was even happening this year. Yes, it was highlighted on the MFC website but other than that the Club has been remiss in ensuring as many people are aware of it thus effecting a huge turnout. The moment Ben publicly announced his head shaving was to be done at Family Day we had to double our sausage order. True story. This is by far and away the DeeArmy’s biggest fund-raising event of the year (a portion of our proceeds will be going to support Challenge Cancer) and so the more exposure, the more funds raised.

Just heard that BBB and Hester and their kids will be marching with us. No surprise since Ben always gives us his time and support. ❤️💙💕❤️💙

For anyone who might be interested… The annual Midsumma Pride March takes place this Sunday, 5 February in St Kilda, commencing at 10am. The Demon Army throw their support behind this initiative every year and a group of us will be marching as part of the various AFL Pride groups. Any and all Dees fans are welcome to join us.
