Biased commentators
We were the buzz team last year. Collingwood are the buzz team now. They have large supporter base. TV commentators are jumping on them to appeal to that mass supporter base. Although I am not too sure what time lights are out at Port Phillip Prison.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
You’re tall Max but you’re not a [censored] Harlem Globe Trotter. Stop spinning the ball in your hands on your set shot routine. Much harder to hit a moving target.

Forward Half Concerns
It is our Achilles heel at the moment. With the increase in soft cap spend next year we need to invest in a specialist forward coach. I like Greg Stafford, nobody can bang a Gatorade container drum style like him during the team song. He is a premiership ruck / forward coach and credit to home for that.He has never been a specialist forward and right now that is what we need. We got away with it last year but not this year. Leading patterns are wrong, games with zero tackles in forward line, no front and square smalls, smalls flying for marks and spoiling our talks, dump kicks to forward pocket which makes it harder to score. We should not have lost that game last night. Statistically and to the naked eye we had enough chances to win easily. We also let them slingshot from defence way to easily. That is on the forwards. Aces in their places get a specialist forward coach in and Stafford to concentrate on the rucks.

Melbourne - One Trick Pony
I would just love to see some variation to the plan occasionally. Obviously our game plan has served us well but when it isn’t working in game why not change it up as we are so predictable. Why do we ALWAYS kick our from full back to the left side of the ground. Why can’t we switch from a zone defence to one on one in game. Why is our default kick into the forward line to a pocket. I hope we have something up our sleeve for finals and it is not just blind faith and stubbornness as we have been worked out or it isn’t working as well as it should. There needs to be change whether it be “method” or personnel.

CHANGES: Rd 22 vs Carlton
I just want to see reward and accountability. Reward for the guys at Casey that are performing in an undefeated team. Accountability for players in the ones that are underperforming to keep them honest and have that competition for spots.Unfortunately with another bye this week for Casey I think there will be minimal change again. Naming players in the squad or as a sub isn’t enough for me. Get them in and give them an opportunity. In : Kade “ viagra “ Chandler. He has been dead set stuff this year. Out : ANB. Been underwhelming for weeks and I think Chandler could do his role but hurt more offensively. Possibly Bowey for Rivers.

The Run Home
I’m OK with that Dazzle. But the fact that the umpires have already blown the whistle and awarded the doggies 5 free kicks is seriously taking the [censored]!!!

CASEY: Rd 17 BYE
The good news is Casey will still be undefeated at the end of this round.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Or at the very least send the runner out straight away and drag him. My Under 14 girls know that if they burn a team mate and cough up a gimme goal to head to the bench before the runner comes out. Unfortunately Bailey has form.

Is our offense a problem?
When your back line is so strong as is our midfield our forward line to the naked eye is our weakest line. While I have every confidence in it I would like to see us tidy up our leading patterns. When at our worst we are all up and nobody down, or run to the same space. While a great kick for goal Bailey quite often leads to the wrong pocket for a left foot kick at goal. I do like the balance we have in the team now with the extra small in Bedford, he just needs some continuity. We will peak in time for finals again.

Concerns With Our Small Forwards
The whole forward line is dysfunctional. But our smalls are Kosi aside not applying enough tackling pressure. The ball comes out of our forward line far too easy

Steven May Suspended by the Club
Would of loved for Max to sign off from that press conference by saying “thanks but I’ve got to go and mow my lawn” #manscaped
-
Jake Melksham to miss Round 13
Would have been more believable if the club just said that Melksham is unavailable for selection this week as he has monkeypox
-
CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Interesting that Max in his press conference dropped the name Daniel Turner. Early selection news perhaps

Steven May Suspended by the Club
Ohhhh FFS. Just suspend him for the bye round.

GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Sydney
For a team that prides itself on its contested ball we are doing a lot of ball watching. Bowey twice has watched a swans player claim a mark that was clearly touched yet no tackle laid. General lack of intensity and poor by hand.

MFC Rebranding for Indigenous Round
Great initiative by the club. Also like the ploy to introduce more white into the jumper to draw as many free kicks for as another team that wears red, blue and white.

Unfair fixtures for Top 4 contenders
Conspiracy theory. Who is the current Afl Operations boss and is there a family link. Who was the previous AFL operations boss and what club does he work at now. Geelong has been receiving charity for years in the rebuild of its stadium, why stop now.

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
As long as Jake Bowie doesn’t get Covid….. We win.

AFL Friend or Foe
I hate the 3 teams that start with the letter “c” Carlton Collingwood Essendon

The very, very contentious 50 for Dissent Rule
Never thought I would ever say this but with the standard of umpiring going backwards I wouldn’t be against a captains challenge rule. Each team 2 per game and keep it if successful. Classic example captains challenge the free kick to Cody Weightman against Joel Smith.

AFLW GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Adelaide
Crows too big, too strong too good. Their talent will be diluted by the Power when they come in. Good second half by our girls, disappointing that our mids and forwards didn’t bring that intensity in the first half.
-
AFLW GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Adelaide
Much better. On ballers actually starting to defend as well. Chaos ball is our best chance with forwards playing in front. Would also love to see Mithen and Paxman use the stand rule to full effect if you don’t have the leg for a set shot.

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide
Port Adelaide Out : Hinkley, Kochie In : Being torn apart

NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
Off the back of what happened at the Oscars I don’t want to condone violence. But Good Crivens there are some real slappable heads at the Western Bulldogs.
