  1. Rough on Tommo was the best defender on the day
  2. I'd love Buddy, I wish it was last year or the year before.. But you can't have Ben Brown and Buddy in the same forward nice, just not enough physicallity. I pray that North go to Tassie with Clarko at the helm and we in a "club uniting move" bring back Premiership Star Forward Ben Brown, meanwhile Dees pickup Buddy. Also how much are we paying BBB? from what I remember its more than the asking for Buddy?
  3. Hey WalkingCivilWar, You're obviously a passionate fan and I'm not here to upset anyone or denigrate your efforts I just think we can be better. I think I've given some constructive criticism. I like how you cbf responding in public except for the last 4 posts and that I'm a clown for giving a toss... come on. I don't think I'm being unreasonable, the hours would be tough no doubt, hence why I haven't been involved in such activities before. Maybe there are some ways to make it easier? But I've been to all our home games this year, please read my post rather than getting stirred up by some posters. Let's say we wanted to get a ground swell of Demonlanders into the Demon Army surely that kind of response is not going to help.
  4. First off, I just want to say I give a lot of respect to those who give their time willingly and support the team from state to state. For some background I'm a General Admission Member in 2022 and generally sit in a pocket, I've been on this site for a long time as different users but rarely post, for those who want to shoot me down for that reason. I've been to all the home games this year and I bought tickets through the Demon Army Website for the Anzac Eve game which was a complete disaster. Initially my tickets didn't work and it was incredibly difficult to find people to help, when I did they were very kind people but sadly couldn't offer much help, past that my seats were double or not triple booked with other fans who were all great about the confusion, but that's not even what I'm here to complain about. All that being said, we have the weakest cheer squad in the league. It's been this way for years but it has been so very noticeable over the last two weeks against interstate sides where they get their chants going against us at home games, it kills momentum and you can tell the players feel it. Opposition fans know it, they put us into our shells and we let them get a ride on us. Everyone knows the polite Melbourne supporter, I'm not saying we should all go feral but we've got to show more spirit than what we have put up. There was a fair few neutral last night and they loved getting stuck into us. I've blown out my throat going hard last night and had a few people tell me that my brother and I were louder than the cheer squad. What also kills me is there seems to be a bloke with a Richmond beanie in our cheer squad I mean come on! My Big Points to rebuild the cheers in the cheer squad: Volume, we need the biggest decibel blokes we can find, we can't be drowned out against the opposite from out of state, unacceptable. Timing, our timing is terrible we go for chants at the point when the team is flying, not when they need us to rally them. Chants, Get some creative people to workshop something... for years we've rocked the standard "Melbourne! clap, clap, clap" its boring, our crowd doesn't get the timing and it doesn't inspire a mouse. If anyone is part of the Demon Army and doesn't like what I've written please reach out to me in the Private Messages I'm more than happy to do my part. Surely I'm not the only one with this feeling? Come up with some ideas and don't shoot people down, keyboard warriors.
  5. Melksham will get his 200th this week, Goodwin likes to get those things happening and I reckon he puts the onus on them to perform or never play again. We stick with the know quantities until we lose then the people who aren't quite performing will be rotated. IN: Viney, OUT: Dunstan,
  6. Ok so I want to sign up, I was a redlegs member back in the darkest days from 2008-2013, but those are all sold out now and the trident too (which is around the price range). Forgive me if I'm wrong but if I'm a member I only want to sit amongst my fellow kin and be undercover. Of the 40k or so we have currently what is the breakdown of memberships? in terms of Redlegs, Trident and so on...
  7. As much as I love Gussy, if he squeezes us too hard we have to let him go, Oliver and Jackson are priority. Defensive wingman we can replace, once in a generation midfielder/ruck we cannot.
  8. just an advert for their sports management very little on Luke choosing us

  10. I'm kinda into the idea of everyone chanting Defence! like in American basketball. What do people think about the DEE-FENCE?
  11. please don't be the carpark option!
  12. Tell you what? If he does get picked up I don't want to play against him because he just hurts [censored], and that's about the best compliment I can give him. Good luck Vanders
  13. We did originally have to wear the red backs against the dogs, but earlier this year we wore our regular jumper. Interesting though Viney is also wearing one...
  14. Just watched that game today, we played average lots of over hand balling and missing targets. They sat on Salem but now we have little Bowey to deliver out of the back half also. Laslty the bulldogs got an absolute armchair ride from the umps that day, frees 25 -11 in their favour, we got ping for throws when they were chucking it all day. That my biggest fear, is the dogs seem to get the rub of the green fairly often.
  15. I don't care which way she leans but if we get stuck in the carpark of collingwoods facility then she has failed!
  16. Get behind our boy Kozzi! https://www.afl.com.au/goal-of-the-year He's a miracle!
  17. What number does he get? Have the Dees had a no. 50 before? Free numbers as I see it 16, 17, 19, 21, 25 and a bunch around the 40s What about 51? one better than the roos :P
  18. The last thing we want to show our younger players is how we turf out champions of the football club as they age, I'm sure he will play just a couple of games adds a bit of depth. Remember what happened last time we got rid of our aging champs. McDonald Bruce Yze White and more got dumped before their time was up and it killed the culture we had grown throughout the Reverend era.
  19. I think Jesse carried himself like a champ at Melbourne! Kicked more goals than anyone in a long time. 2011 Liam Jurrah 40 2012 Mitch Clark 29 2013 Jeremy Howe 28 2014 Chris Dawes 20 2015 Jesse Hogan 44 2016 Jesse Hogan 41 2017 Jeff Garlett 42 2018 Tom McDonald 53 2019 Christian Petracca 22 2020 Bayley Fritsch 22 Just to be clear in 2017 his father died, he got nut cancer came back, busted his collarbone and then returned only 3 weeks later to kick 20 goals for the year, I know COVID was tough in QLD but Fritschy ain't looking much better, and I like the boy! If anyone watched the home & away season in 2018 recently Jesse was a humongous part of it kicking 47 goals winning games off his own back, sometimes with his little mate Jeffy around his feet and don't @ about McDonald he's done... ? He would only come back to give his all, its simple as that, in my opinion. Listen to everytime Goodwin has spoken about Jesse post dees, its always very postive.
  20. When he left I thought the messaging around it felt like the door was open. Would be foolish not to put it out there... give them a late second rounder? Is an instant upgrade in the forward line, was one of the big reasons we had a solid home and away in 2018. Weed & the Hulk 2021!
  21. I posted about this in the Game plan thread that just popped up recently, I think its a great idea! My main problem is that Viney and Oliver can't play in a stoppage together, they literally fight over the ball. Player either of them forward when one is on the ball. Viney's defensive attributes would make him a great forward and we know he can go the footy.
  22. Lots of talk about who we move out of our team come the end of the year, this popping up today on SEN from our old assistant coach https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/08/10/hed-certainly-be-an-asset-at-any-team-melbournes-midfield-dilemma/ I don't understand the conundrum, Gerard Whateley (who I think is a right [censored]) said that Viney and Brayshaw are the same player, clearly has not watched us very closely, this is not a Brayshaw vs Viney issue. To me its clear, it's a Oliver and Viney issue. Now I would never want to trade either of these two, Viney is the one player who I think bleeds the most for the football club and Clarry is a freak who comes around not too often. I've been thinking about this for the last couple of weeks and I hope the concussion to Viney has shown Goodwin that this is the case. Both Viney and Clarry are see ball, get ball players they hunt it and often to the detriment of each other, how many times have we seen Melbourne players clash into eachother and the opposition get it to the outside? The Hunter (Viney or Oliver) The Explosion (Petracca) and a Smooth Mover (Brayshaw or ?) My solution is simple, Viney to become a burst midfielder, and Forwardline stoppage expert. We all know how damaging he can be around the ball and has shown not just recently he can take a decent ping at the goals, he will negate a dangerous backman and has strong hands overhead for a "little guy". Pop him in the middle when we need a statement or in finals, put a bit of fear in the opposition and give Clarry a rest down forward or on the bench. There's my two cents, I made a whole new account to do it haha.
