Personally would be fine with that....both are going to have massive roles through the midfield throughout their careers, with great forward craft, and neither are the finished product. I am bullish to the point that these 2 players will make us an attractive club again. Hope,optimism, skill and excitement. These are elements we been missing for years. Oliver and Petracca have loved them both.... But neither have really made a difference last few years on field, it seems like both have been having more impact in the background. Wish them both the best...they are both likely to improve with change of environment and motivation. If we land Bailey, we will forget about Petracca/Oliver combo so quickly. Kozzie/Humphrey faster, younger, x factor. Get it done Demons, give us hope!

All the posturing is crazy. Can almost guarantee you he is out from GC. Reportedly on 800k atm...he could get as much as 1.5 million from a few Vic clubs. Let me stay at GC for half the wage, whilst bringing in Petracca? Makes no sense...he is out! Would you be happy to find out we may be better off without them both? That we play a more exciting game style that we could not achieve with them in the team? Hell, even Jeffo may bloom, back our coach in to create something special....the belief will grow, from players to supporters... The message was clearly get fitter however it was delivered! Mental health issues or not, no incoming or current coach would dance around issues like this. Gets tiring the bagging of our club vs the incredible leeway supporters give to players that have got the big dollars, then caused us pile of issues, let alone underperforming.

The only truth to this is that Oliver is meeting with King. It would make sense they would discuss possible role/s that is going to suit Melbourne's new attacking game plan. The role may thrill Oliver, or excite him to get back to his strengths. Personally I want to see him used like a Liberatore is at dogs....or how he used to be our first in and under player, extract the ball with quick hands. With a game plan around a reliable extractor, you can start having your other pawns reliably create options, east, west, north and south. If this happens which I think I should and it will.... It actually makes the Viney/King meeting to be really interesting....what to do with Viney? King is going to have to see a big picture, I hope he has reasonably clear vision of what we can possibly be. Change is exciting, hope the players are feeling optimistic despite the chaos of change. Likewise I hope that supporters are feeling optimistic for change.....we have needed it so badly!

The team that won more games than us this year with shockingly bad list...OK I think our list is slightly better but without doubt we been badly coached for some time now. We will rebound with an exciting game plan that stimulates the team, rather than boring them to tears. Hearing King is designing a game plan where we will be kicking into equal numbers in a forward line....that in itself would be massive, let alone "allowing" the team to play with freedom and using some flair. Really bullish of us having much better year, even if it is with similar list!

Not even that....quoted that Pies offered him 425k per season. Can see why he is considering other teams...must be worth 600-700k on form.

Common sense fuels my bias on this occasion. It all seems pretty straightforward to me how it would have developed after an exit meeting where Christian shared his thoughts on following year. He wanted to explore, we facilitate that, but with bigger pool of teams this year. More chance it gets done. All we as MFC can do is wait to see if the offers are going to be....hopefully a bidding war with few clubs interested. Christian has his flaws but still a match winner on his day. Going to be interesting to see how this all develops, either way!

In this case smoke means fire lol. Neither Christian or his manager are shutting it down...nor are M.F.C. Either one one of them could shut it down in an instant...as plenty of other players/managers do. He currently is a distraction...and if no trade this year, will he want out again for a 3rd straight year? If he really wants out, we will let him go( for the right price) New coach would be wanting 100% invested players... not sure where he sits on a committed scale, but from appearances he seems less than 100% committed, to us.
